Lose Satellite M100 PSMA0A time but no date.

Hello

I have a portable Satellite M100 (PSMA0A-0J4002), who has problems with the hold time. He lost several hours in normal operation (mains or battery power or even with no battery and only AC). It stops when the computer goes into hibernation or is disabled.

My Windows time zones are correct and I turned off automatic updates of internet time too.
The strange thing is that the date never changes! It's not 1980 or similar when the battery is removed. That means it's not the CMOS battery?
I disassembled the laptop looking for the CMOS battery, but it is soldered in. Is this correct?

I don't know if it's relevant or related, but sometimes the screen turns black after emerging from hibernation and the laptop must be turned off and when he comes back he asked something like: clear memory and reboot or restart.
I have to choose erase the memory and restart. Very rarely, I also have the blue screen of death with count upwards saying that memory dumping (I think).

I deleted my firewall and AV programs but still lost time.

Anyone is able to help please?
Is it likely to be material, battery CMOS or software?

Thanks in anticipation!
Lewis

> I disassembled the laptop looking for the CMOS battery, but it is soldered in. Is this correct?
I m not very well how it s mounted on laptop M100, but in many cases the CMOS batteries are not easy to remove it s always a job for technicians of the ASP

The issue of the date and time may be linked to the CMOS battery
Usually, you can charge this battery easily.
In order to load the CMOS battery, the laptop must be connected to the power adapter and the laptop must cover more than 20hours.
After that the CMOS battery needs to be recharged.

But if the question seems yet, then you should check if the update of the BIOS might help if not it s a motherboard problem that should be checked by a technician of laptop!

I checked the Web from Toshiba site and for your model M100 (PSMA0E) it is only a Vista driver available for Flash Media reader.

But I founded a driver XP for Satellite M100 (PSMA1E) I think that models are similar, and you should try this one:

    Hello

As far as I know that it is a series of notebook Toshiba Australian & New Zealand.
I found the drivers on this page:
    http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au

Unfortunately I didn't find the commands of Toshiba and Infred driver for Win XP

But I think I have another solution.

Visit the page of European driver of Toshiba and choose the Win XP drivers for Satellite PSMA0E series.
You can find the Toshiba control tool that controls buttons.
The infrared driver should be part of the Win XP, so it shouldn't t be installed separately

  • Satellite M100 (PSMA0A-0J4002) - upgrade of RAM modules?

    Hello

I want to expand the capacity of my laptop from 512 MB to 2 GB memory because it's slower and slower. What type of memory should I get and what is the maximum number of memory my phone supports?

Is there someone who could help me with this?

    Will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you

    :-)

    Hey mate,

I searched a bit using Google and it seems that you can upgrade your laptop computer to the maximum of 2 GB of RAM. This means that you can purchase two modules with 1 GB of capacity.
    AFAIK you need DDR2-667 modules

You buy a provider of authorized service or in the Internet modules. I have good experiences with the Kingston modules. :)

  • Satellite M100-JG2 HotKey and date and time problem

    Hi all

I'm not very good with computers, and I've had some problems for a while now. My laptop is almost three years, I don't know why I'm writing this after so long but anyway. I think they are called "keys" or "launchkeys", hopeyfully, you know what I mean, but anyway they do no more work. They worked for a while, but they do not work now. I went into the control panel and went into the 'Toshiba' orders and tried to change what does each control, but it still does not work. No one knows how to fix?

Also, another problem that I had since I first laptop is my date and time are screwed up. If I put my 15:30 time, it works perfectly, until around 16:15, that when he goes back to 15:30 and go all the way up to 16:15 and continues in this cycle until I manually change the time. I had a few friends (no professional) to look at, but can not understand. When I start my laptop I go to settings in the start screen, try to change it was from there, but it keeps going during the cycle. If I click on the time and click on the tab "internet time" and say "update now", it updates, and then only time will work normally, but only until I turn off my laptop. Once I turn it on then next turn, it passes through this new cycle of 45 minutes. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix?

I'm not very good at explaining, but I hope you guys can help! I appreciate it really :) Show!

The Toshiba Satellite M100. M100-JG2 seems to be a Canadian series laptop. I recommend you to visit the driver Toshiba Canada page and to download and reinstall the tool called controls, Toshiba HotKey Utility, touch and launch.

I think that you have changed the date and time in the BIOS. Is this good?
If not, change it and don t forget to save the changes.

In Control Panel--> Date and time--> time tab Internet, please uncheck the auto sync with the internet time server.
In the other, called tab time zone please choose the right time zone and activate the tick to the option called automatically adjust the clock for an advance of changes

  • BIOS recovery for Satellite M100 - 191 PSMA0E

    Hello.

After asking for help in the forum to find the driver on my laptop Satellite M100 - 191 PSMA0E, I installed windows xp and the driver.

What happens is that when you try to update the bios of windows, the computer asked me to save the old bios and before that I do something and it was thus blocked for almost an hour.

I disconnected and then reconnected and now nothing appears.
It turns on and I can see the dvd player to work, but nothing appears on the image of the laptop.,.

Can anyone help to recover the BIOS, because I think I messed up here

    Thank you

Hmm seems something went wrong during the update

Damn that s really weird in the worst case you will have to send the laptop to a Toshiba ASP to get the module ROM flashed again

  • Where to find drivers for Satellite M100 - 191 PSMA0E

    Hello, everyone.

Someone is now where I can find in web Toshiba of the driver for Toshiba Satellite M100-191 (PSMA0E-04001XPT) model.

    I find it another model M100-132, 142-M100, M100-157, M100-233, but the I can't find M100-191.

    Waiting for your help.

    Thank you

    Hello

You used a wrong method to get the drivers
As you can see it the Satellite M100-191 belongs to the series of PSMA0E
So you should search for M100 PSMA0E and not for M100-191

More drivers are placed in the Archives of the driver page

Product type (first option) choose Archive.

  • Satellite M100 - 164 (PSMA0E) - Toshiba need recovery disk

    Hello!

My sister has a Toshiba Satellite M100 - 164 (PSMA0E) which used it for 2-3 years.

I formatted. Year last to install Windows Vista. But, unfortunately, I also deleted the partition hidden for this upgrade. In addition, as you can guess, I didn't create the recovery media, before my formatting. She started to say that she's not happy with the system and asked me to convert it to its previous state.

In the forum, I saw that the user {color: #ff0000} * ["locojava" asked a question on a driver he was looking for his PSMA0E | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=199573#199573] * {color}. I wanted to respond to the thread, but it was locked.

So, I would be grateful, if "locojava" or any what M100-164 of the users who have the recovery media would contact me in order to find a solution. I want to do a clean install to make her happy with the laptop to factory settings. I can also buy the CD to chip away at to fix the problem.

    Thank you.

  • Screen does not light after the start, but after standby on Satellite M100

    Hello
I have some experience with computers and laptops, but this problem exhausted all of my knowledge.
My girlfriend has a Toshiba Satellite M100, PSMA1E. He currently works on Windows XP, SP3.
The laptop has always had problems closing/stand bye. He would stand bye and the screen would not. She would usually be manually turn off (holding the power button) and restart.

Same thing happened last week, but with me. I turned off the power button but when I turned it on the screen was completely black. After a few attempts, I realized that everything worked; I could hear the usual audio files and XP Boot, but there was no way I could get the job of the screen.

The strangest thing is that the CMOS/BIOS, one with the Toshiba logo settings screen, also does not appear. If it's an OS problem, I thought that I would be able to access the BIOS at least, but it does not work. FN + F5 does not work.

Then, strange yet something happened. I was turning it on and off with keyboard shortcuts and I realized that if I put on stand bye using shortcuts and then go back on the screen turns on perfectly well (there is a cause of adjustment resolution icons are irrelevant, but it works perfectly fine).

From that on I tried everything I know. Update the BIOS, all Windows XP updates, all Toshiba QuickFix, cleaning the registry with different tools, uninstall and reinstall the video driver (ATI Radeon X 1400) utility, shortcuts keyboard, power saver, tools hardware Toshiba, looking to start up programs, services, everything I could possibly think off.

What intrigues me is that the Toshiba start screen will not be displayed. I can't access the BIOS, but I tried to restore the standard values of the BIOS with Toshiba hardware tools. It did not work. I don't even know if reinstalling XP will work because whenever I turn it on it is all black and I have to make the stand bye / Tower on Tower.

When I have it plugged into an external monitor, I could see all starting the process (initial screen of the BIOS and Windows). I then tried to access the video driver display configuration but it would show only the external monitor. It would only detect the laptop screen after a stand bye / turn back on, and then it worked perfectly: the screen two screens simultaneously, extended, everything. Ah, changing BIOS selection automatic the LCD + external monitor does not work.

I am really puzzled here and I can't understand it. I really don't think it's a hardware problem, because the screen works 100% after the stand bye. I guess that XP is do something during the closing down that completely 'stops' my screen, even after starting, and then I can only turn it on with the thing stand bye.

Any help would be really appreciated!

    Best,

    Hi guys

I had a similar problem on a series of Satellite A200 and I could solve works to update the BIOS and update the graphics driver.
In addition, you must make sure that all available MS fixes and patches have been installed.

Unfortunately, but that's all I can suggest. If the problem persists and you would not be able to solve update components then an ASP needs to check.

    Good luck

  • Satellite M100: Icon battery bar of tasks does not display time remaining

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite M100. It has windows XP Home, with no changes made (this is how it was preinstalled). I noticed that when I go over the battey icon only other percentages are displayed, not the rest of the time. I have a friend with a laptop L100 (which is quite similar to mine as material) which shows the remaining time in hours and minutes. You have any ideea, what should I do, I really want to know the time not a few percent.

    Thank you in advance.

The same situation here! I noticed that the status of time does not appear on all models of laptops. I put t know why it is only a restriction of the power saver version.

In my opinion, it is not so important, because I believe that the specified time is not realistic. This always depends on the use of the laptop.

    Good bye

  • How can I change the font and size of legends? The manual says it's possible, but I lose a lot of time trying to find the way. Help please.

The manual says it's possible, but I lose a lot of time trying to find the way. Help please.

I think that the subtitle Editor is not very well developed, since I adapt the text, the timming, but then, text does not fit, or letters are very separated... and I can't work out these details.

    Thank you

I don't think that you can change the size of the police with captions. I think that because it is a 'standard' you are limited to what this standard supports only. If the manual says: you can change the font size then it probably still says: you can change the fonts familty. I was never able to change the size of police or the family. The manual should be rewritten to prevent people to mislead him.
