Loses the passwords saved AND bookmarks

Firefox updated on me without warning. All bookmarks were lost. Also recorded all of the passwords were lost too. File appeared on my desktop called "old Firefox data." Don't know where to go from here. Very frustrating.

Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore > choose file

This file can be there in the folder

  • Can I temporarily disable the password saving and then reactivate without losing my passwords?

Currently, I am producing a video screenshot to ask my users on how to complete the automated process of 'forgot password'.
I want to just disable the password save dialogues while I save the screenshot.

However, I don't want to lose all my passwords/connections in the process!

Another idea is to create a separate profile to Firefox for demos. It's a separate Firefox settings folder that is saved along with your main profile.

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also have databases of completely fresh settings and cool a cache folder.

If you want to try it:

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run):

    firefox.exe -P

    Do not delete anything here!

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button to create a profile, assign a name like Clean2015 and ignore the ability to move the profile folder. After you create the profile, select it and start Firefox in this profile.

One of the advantages is that none of your history shows in this profile.

When you return to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the button to delete the profile. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.

  • All IT gurus out there who know Firefox... have lost the passwords saved when FF created a new profile and delete old files key3.dbf and logins.json profile.

All IT gurus out there who know Firefox... have lost the passwords saved when FF created a new profile and delete old files key3.dbf and logins.json profile. Any ideas, anyone?

    So it's not a logins.json file?

I see a signons3.txt file and a file signons.sqlite older, if you can try to see if you can import passwords stored in this file.

You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the file logins.json with the following steps:

    • reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
    • Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder

When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true.
You have passwords that are imported in the password manager, unless there were errors or signons.sqlite signons3.txt.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • What is "you want to update the password saved for"

Given that I deleted prefs.js and user.js when I connect to any account in the upper-left appears
"you want to update the password saved for" this interferes with the connection and now it won't let me connect you to your e-mail account.
I wonder where it appears? I don't want to use it and want better to delete, but don't know how?
I wanted to add a page in this issue, but as usual Firefox won't like that I guess. So, after this announcement I'll add.

    Thank you.

  • MacBook Pro stops when the lid closes, loses the open tabs and background image...

    Hi all

I recently had a new hard drive installed in my 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro. I am running El Capitan 10.11.2. Since then, my computer cuts automatically to the bottom when the lid is closed, losing all Web pages, and for some reason, some background, I've saved. (My browser is Mozilla Firefox and it prompts you to restore me the tabs lost, which he will).

The led standby does not blink or light up when the computer is turned on, it will turn on only at startup. At startup, the login page is displayed, and after that I entered my password it takes about 15 to 25 seconds to load and open my account. What is going on?!

    Summary:

Stop when the lid is closed,

Loses the background image & open Web pages.

    Standby blinks only when starting,

Time of loading extended after logging into my account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot for reading.

  • Does not remove the passwords saved on ios9.3.4

Several attempts by me to the password Remove saved have failed.

I found a Telekom.de user id and the password under password - no idea how it got there I have does not save passwords. In my effort to remove it, I now have 3 more useless entries. And none of them can be removed

    Where are the saved passwords?

  • Password is saved to a Web site (I know, because it opens), but I can't find it in the passwords saved in the browser options.

    Hi people warned @ Firefox,.
Could you tell me how it is possible that I have a password saved to my Hotmail account, but it does not appear in the list of the saved passwords? I know that it is saved because when I click on the link Outlook it opens Hotmail, and I can access my emails. How can I recover my password without going to Hotmail and reset?
    Thank you!

As long as you can get in hotmail now, you stand a good chance of sorting out the password.

I think Hotmail can use a site name, something like 'loginlive'.

It may also be that you have not saved the password on Firefox. Hotmail itself has an option for the connection to persist and to remember, which will use cookies.

Hotmail might have the password reset options, but that may depend on taking you measures in advance to set up an alternate e-mail address or other questions of method and or contact security. This is something that you should be able to do it right now if you are always connected to or able to connect.

  • Credential Manager loses the password stored after a certain time

    Hey Microsoft Community.

I have a small problem with the Manager of credentials Windows under Windows 7, Windows 8 RP, RTM of Windows 8 (have a version of Dreamsparks) and Windows Home Server 2011. When I store connections in the manager like for example to connect to network between machines shares, the manager loses these passwords after a certain time (2-3 days or more). At first I thought that this happens when the computer is rebooted or started because the machines are usually have hibernated in my house - but even when they are not given running loose connections.

What should I do to fix this? I need the connections, for example for automatic nightly backups.

    1. "Popper" tab behavior. I want tabs to open right in the list of the tab, so I don't have to get in the middle of the bar.

    2. I have folders in the bookmarks bar. I want to be able to add a bookmark directly to these folders. Now, I have to create the bookmark, and then go find it, to move it where I want. Y at - it a setting or a plugin to improve Mozilla bookmarks?

    1. type this in the address bar and press ENTER.
topic: config and toggle this preference to False.

    browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent

    2. click and drag the icon in the tab [at left] down to the Bookmarks Toolbar folder where you want to place the new bookmark - folder will open, then place it where you want.

  • How to completely uninstall autofil suggestions and all of the drop downs and bookmarks.

You should know that I followed the instructions canned. History of compensation is clearly misspelled web address nor the list of old bookmarks that go down. Example: walmartmoaneycard.com. instead of walmartmoneycard.com.
    Another: 192.168.01 instead of 192.168.0.1.
Are there files I can delete completely?
Second, is there a file to remove the bookmarks drop-down without losing them as a book mark.
Is it necessary to remove the from the drop-down list at the same time? I have a lot of these, and some that no longer exists.

You may have switched to the keyboard navigation.

You can activate or switch by pressing F7 keyboard navigation (Mac: fn + F7).

    • Tools > Options > advanced > general > accessibility: [] "always use the cursor keys to navigate through the pages."

Note that this is a function of Firefox Accessibility.

To retrieve the bookmark favicons, you must visit a bookmark to retrieve the favicon or use a Firefox extension.

  • Always have 2 tabs FF15.0.1 and start tabs w/previous/win. No matter when I start FF the second window always loses the 1 tab and put the '+' to the extreme left.

When I close FF the active window becomes #1 window when I restart. No matter that one becomes a window #2 the first pinned tab is missing and the '+' is on the far left. Same thing happens if the tabs are not pinned. If I close FF and cause a switch between W #1 and 2 W, W #2 loses this 1 tab and w #1 missing tab reappears.
