Loss of connection with my router, shows only limited access and my network showed that unidentified

Original title: unidentified network, missing the default gateway

Hello

So one day out of the blue I lost connection with my router. I was able to reconnect but this time around I had only limited access and my network showed non-identified. I tried to connect to a different wireless network, same thing. When I run ipconfig, I'm missing a value for the default gateway.

I tried to:

-Reinstall the drivers for the adapter

-update the drivers

-Reset my router

-Gateway ipv4 manually of entry

-kill lan via Device Manager drivers

-scream at the computer

I have a Setup to dual boot with Linux Mint along side Windows 7. When I boot in Linux it connects to any network without problem.

Some help would be appreciated.

  • Problem connecting Dlink - the connection with this computer still only shows "Local".

My Dlink wifi can connect to all of my other computers, with the exception of a laptop Fujitsu running Vista. Only the connection to this computer always shows "Local".

Dlink and Fujitsu point to another, and Microsoft has no viable solution. Help!

    Hi AlLohUX,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description of the problem provided, I understand that you are unable to connect to the network on the Windows vista computer. Wifi connection Dlink says local only.

You can follow the steps below and check if that helps you solve the problem.

    Method 1

Try to power cycle the router and the computer and check if it helps.

    On the PC:

Save your work and restart the machine.

On the router or the modem:

    1. Unplug the router and the modem.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug in the modem and wait for it to come to the ready state.
    4. Plug in the router.

After you put cycle check the connection between the router and the computer.

    Method 2

If the steps above do not help, you can reset the TCP/IP stack. To reset access the link below and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

    (a) disable the IP helpdesk:

    (b) hold Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter

    (c) scroll down to the IP assistance service, right-click on it and select Properties
In the drop-down list box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply'.

    (d) then click on 'Stop' to stop the service from running in the current session
Click OK to exit the dialog box

  • No connection with the router

After doing a scan of normal viruses with avast anti-virus suddenly my network card started going crazy. I have had no connection to my router. When I checked my network connection there was nothing... no ip without dns server addresses nothing. Also no packets were sent or received. I have a toshiba tecra S2 and I reinstalled my card three times already everytime with the latest network drivers. It #s also no problem not related to my router because the two other home pc only works very well.
    hope you can help me

    Hello

you said that you already reinstalled the NIC. And it did not work.
So, I have a small suggestion for you:
To test if your card is not working properly, download "UBCD4WIN Live CD" (Live - very easy to use Windows XP CD from the XP CD) and burn it to a CD.

    www.UBCD4Win.com

After that starts with it and try to establish a connection with your laptop to your router. If you get a connection, then something in your BONES is broken and I suggest you do a system
    recovery.
If no connection is given, try a Biosupdate and replace the network cable.

If nothing will work, bring your machine to an ASP (Authorized Service Partner) for repair or at least a material balance.

    Good luck &
    Welcome them

  • Linksys BEFSR41 connection with modem router getting not real internet ip

Hello, can someone help with this problem. I connected to a modem router linksys BEFSR41 router. But when I watched the status in linksys BEFSR41 router, it gives only an IP from the modem router and no real internet ip address.

can someone give me an answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't string two routers. Fill the modem/router or don't use the BEF as a router, but only as a simple switch (or replace it with a standard ethernet switch).

  • Vista connects to my router, but for local access only.

I am running windows home edition vista 32 bit on my laptop and until today I had no problems with my internet connection.  I've updated my norton 360 today and had no problems until I rebooted a few hours later.  I can connect to my router but it gives me local access only.  My Linux Ubuntu 10.4 and Mac OS X system is running to the same router with no problems.

What can I do to connect my Vista laptop to internet?

So I got on my windows to try what you say and guess what. -_ - (indifferent face) my vista decided to take my wireless and give me access to the internet after most of the month.  I don't know what happened.  I didn't have anything new in the last three days... It's fixed now, but I still don't know what it does break.  Any ideas as what caused it?

  • My router shows that my wireless adapter has put in place 3 connections.

My internet access is by wireless adapter.  When checking my list DHCP from the router, I found that for my laptop I got 3 IP addresses. My bandwidth decreased incredibly and I assume that it is part of the problem.  I checked my network connections and I found I have 3 connections, but only one is listed as being active.  I can't delete the other two.

Is it possible to fix this?

This seems to indicate that the PC is connected (rebooted summer?) 3 times and each time the router has assigned a different address even if it still has the previous addresses in its table. A router should normally reassign the same address, so this may indicate a problem with the router.

  • No internet access for the connection with the router.

I bought a router D-Link DSL-2750U and when I connect to the internet it says no internet access even I've updated the MAC address of my router with my ISP, but still no use I use don't win 7. any help on this?

    Hi Chavigny,

In case you have contacted the ISP provider and verify that the network settings are correct, then try the following steps:

    Method 1:

I suggest to run the network troubleshooter, and check to see if it lists all the errors and helps you solve them.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2: Update the network driver.

Steps to update of network driver:

    (a) click the Start button.

    (b) in the search box type devmgmt.msc, and then press ENTER.

    (c) select the network card device and right click on it

    (d) now select Properties.

    (e) in the Properties window, on the driver tab, click Update driver.
After installing the updates, restart the computer.

  • Loss of connectivity with HP C7280 wireless

I have a HP C7280 I connect wireless to several computers running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.  All 3 computers, I often lose the connection to the HP printer and "remove hardware" and then "add printer" to return connectivity.  This does not happen with my printer Brother laser on the same home network.  Is there a solution to maintain the connection to the HP printer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I am sorry to say that this is probably due to Win 7 64 bit.

There are few things we can do to improve the situation, but eventually it can't be fixed:

    1. don't use WEP.  It is not secure and can be broken in about 10 minutes with the freeware.  In addition, it can cause problems of connectivity to printers.  Use WPA or WPA2 with a strong character 13 + password that you create.

    2. we will set a static IP address for the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149.  We will use 192.168.1.200
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.
