• Out of the blue my HP C4205 stopped the connection and is simply display offline?

  I just received this print by a friend that it is no longer used, replaced black ink and after you get the printer to recognize the new cartridge, it was good to go. Now a week later all of a sudden the printer shows offline and will not be a link to the PC at all. The printer still works even if, like the copy function works.

  Using my logical head I'd say it's the cable (I checked that it is plugged properly), but I know printers can be very finicky sometimes so hoped there was a way out of trouble before you go out and buy another cable.

  I use windows 7 32 bit, any help would be appreciated...

  Varial, have you installed the printer using the CD that came with the machine? If so initially, allows to run although the process of unistalling the printer and reinstlaling it.

  Start by going through programs and features, devices and printers and Device Manager and make sure that the printer software is completely removed, uninstalled or deleted.

  Then in the start menu, click RUN and type "%temp%" and press ENTER. In the folder that opens, I want to delete all the files and present records which will allow you to remove them (some will not allow you, and that's fine).

  Since you have reformatted, Key Finder tools cannot help you.
  Are you SURE the sticker key fell? -C' is the first time I've ever heard talk about what happens in a valid area! It should be a yellow/Orange sticker inside the fancy box provided in OS disks.
  Are you sure that the Vista you have is not an OEM version? -in this case, the thumbnail will be on the computer case and not on the DVD case.
  Where did you purchase your Vista?
  If you still have the receipt, you will be able to convince MS to replace the key for you...

  Your operating system is Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium. If you are running the same OS version, then you need to reactivate the key which is the back of your laptop, other wise you need is reinstall the same version of windows and activate using the key

  I hope that it's fairly simple to solve. I've been messing around with some file permissions delete some and adding others... and when I rebooted I noticed I had an another user account named Administrator and he asked me who to connect to. Now, I know there is always an Admin account and you can not delete the account, but so far he never arose and seems to be a new account.

  I see the problem in the user account settings on my Windows 7 desktop. I do NOT see it in my portable Win7 so I know that it is not there. I'm concerned, it's a virus or something that created an admin account... is this possible?

  If I'm doing something when playing with the permissions, what can I do to get rid of the named account administrator? I can't remove it and it has never been there before? :/

  PS. I fixed it to where it is most requested which account to connect to, still do not know came the new account

  First of all, make sure that you have at least one active administrator level account before proceeding.

  You can disable the built-in in this administrator account running in a command prompt:

  (a) open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click on command, prompt a click and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

  b) type net user administrator / active: No.

• Incompatible cartridge... out of the blue

  My c4480 Phothosmart has always used only original HP cartridge, never filled, so now that I've installed several weeks ago, a new 350xl expiring 12-11 purchased from Amazon.fr. No problem until tonight when the printer has decided not to print due to problem of "incompatible cartridge". I removed the cartridge, being an XL on a rarely used printer that it's almost full, reinstalled, no change, still the message on the screen...

  I searched the forum and found I could try to clean the contacts, as we did before the chips have been added to the cartridge to prevent the user from using what they paid the printer, for now the screen says "missing or defective cartridge" (translation from Italian...

  Good thing is the important document I need for tomorrow morning has been printed, but I can't access any option with this message and I don't want to trash a cartride which cost half the price just printer because hp has decided that no impression is better than losing to compatible cartridges... I'm very unpleased.

  I already turned off the printer, unplugged, removed the cartridge and so on several times, I hope that you have better solution than what I read everywhere: get another printer, not from HP...
