Lost 2 USB ports on Satellite M series

2 USB ports on the back of the laptop to refuse to work, I tried various devices, but they are not counted. I ran the recovery disc and the problem is still present. I ran Acronis to return the machine as it was before, but I have only the USB port on right side.

I always got 10 months warranty left Toshiba but wonder, is there something I can do via highlighting, I have sound Toshiba to pick up?

Russell.

Hello

The problem is that the dysfunction is definitely related material and cannot be resolved by setting options in the BIOS...
So. NO, West, nothing you can do. Just send the machine to an ASP and let them repair your beautiful Satellite. ;)

Welcome them

  • Cracked screen and faulty USB ports on Satellite A105-S1014

On my Satellite A105-S1014 screen is cracked and needs to be replaced. How much cost could replace the screen?

In addition, my phone and USB ports do not work properly. This problem arise well before that I accidentally cracked the screen. Some times when I turn first of all the computer, USB port and telephone ports work for awhile and then after a period of time ranging from a few minutes to several hours, they badly run simultaneously and the computer says that what is in the USB port does not work and that there is no dial tone in the phone port that I use to access dial-up. At the beginning, I don't have this problem with the Toshiba laptop, but it arises after about three months.

My warranty has expired. How much it could cost to solve the problem of the phone and USB ports?

    Hey Buddy,
I can't tell you how much would it cost to fix these two things, but I can tell you that you buy rather a new machine because the display and motherboard are the most expensive parts in your machine. Since your ports USB and your RJ11 (phone port) don't work anymore and this stuff is on the motherboard, I guess you have to swap the motherboard, too.

I suggest you to sell your machine @ ebay and buy another. It would be too expensive to fix your machine. Believe me, I had a case of simiar and parts cost more then buy a new machine that was more recent and better performance.

Just my opinion and just a thought for you... :)

  • 2 on 4 broken USB Ports on Satellite A135

One day I was on my laptop Toshiba satellite a-135 and my optical mouse began to blink.
I unplugged it intends to plug back in and the problem fixed. When I plugged it back in, the light in mice did not illuminate, no computer has yet noticed it.
Then I moved it to a different port, and he didn't notice it either. The other two ports on the right side of my laptop it recognized and worked.
Physically, nothing broken or moved that I can see. In Device Manager it says there are 3 usb root hubs, and it says very well.
I don't know how o fix this, and help is much appreciated.

    Thanks, brent

    Hello, Brent

In my opinion this is the technical problem, and I'm afraid there is nothing you can do alone. I also believe that the verification of only ordinary material can say why these ports do not work. There must be a contact problem.

I don't know where you live, but you need to contact the service. They allow to check the laptop.

  • Satellite P10 Series - USB Ports not working not

    Hi - I have a portable series of P10, PSP10E-0RCJM-EN.

Don't know when or how this can happen, but none of my USB ports work integrated.
They are all recognized and installed when you look in the Windows Device Manager.

I am running Win XP Home Edition with SP2 and latest drivers and BIOS downloaded from the Toshiba web site.
I had the hope that it might be a simple device or a driver of motherboard problem, but does not appear.

Using a card PCMCIA USB works very well, but uses only one card slot that I need for other purposes.

    Anyone has more suggestions please?
I hope you can help, impatience of someone soon!

    Hello

Try to remove all the ports from the Device Manager.
Then try to restart the device. After this procedure, the operating system should recognize and install again the USB ports.
It would be very interesting to know if the ports are working properly after this new facility.

  • USB ports do not work on Satellite M-series

None of the USB ports work on my laptop. OS is Win XP SP2. When the system returns settlement she gives a pop-up error message "usb 1 post does not work. Please remove the USB plugged in this USB port.
I tried updating BIOS, chipset, uninstall reinstall windows, alos tried only XP without SP or updates, still the same problem. Nothing happens when I plug the USB device into a USB port.
    Can someone has any advice?

    Hello

This problem appears only after arriving in eve?
If so, I would recommend disabling the safe option of power manager devices for USB controllers.

I have also studied a little bit on the Microsoft page because in my experience, most USB problems are related to the Windows operating system.

I found this document MS proposal excellent solution:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/329255/en-us

    Good luck

PS: What device you tried to connect to the USB port? Have you tried using a different USB port?

  • Satellite C660-258 Series USB ports

Well basically one of my USB ports, the closest for me to be more precise is reported missing.
At first I thought that the USB slot might be brouilla somewhere, somehow, but after watching upstairs and downstairs I found nothing.

I have absolutely no idea what happened because the day before, I had been using my USB slot perfectly and the next I'm going to use it and it is not what makes me very suspicious of how these Toshiba laptops are set up since I was the only one who uses the thing.

I resorted to my 2nd USB port which worked for about 2 weeks after another the disappeared but now it has also stopped working and I need some advice on the question of whether I can restore the other somehow or if it could be physically damaged in some way.

I rang Toshiba while my laptop was still under warranty on it, but they told me the usb slots are not covered by the latter and told him it could be quite an expensive repair because the ports are connected to the motherboard. I don't want to really folk big money to solve this problem, given A) I don't think I can afford it & B) I don't feel like paying a large sum of money, because frankly I didn't use excessive force for her to get out or get pushed in which really makes me the issue of making the laptop.

Can someone give me advice on what I could do because I rely heavily on my USB ports/slots

    > I rang Toshiba while my laptop was still under warranty on it, but they told me the usb slots are not covered by the latter and told him it could be quite an expensive repair because the ports are connected to the motherboard.

This is nonsense if the warranty is valid, any part of the material is covered by the warranty so its no matter if the USB ports are defective or other parts if there is a hardware failure, the service partner should set free.

But in your case I would guarantee that it is really a hardware failure
Take a recovery disc or use HARD drive recovery option to put the laptop back to factory settings.
If the USB ports wouldn't even using the pre-configured Toshiba system, then hardware problem might be possible

In this case get in touch with the Toshiba ASP in your country and ask for help.

  • Cannot get the USB port to work after re-installation of SP2 on Satellite Pro L20

After re - install XP Home SP2 and download all updates & drivers from here, I can't get my USB port works correctly, if I have more than one connected device it says "bandwidth exceeded".

I have a Behringer BCD2000 which is a souncard/midi controller for DJ, mixer, he has worked before I reinstalled windows, now that it snaps and POPs playing tunes, ASIO does not work when I start Traktor (Dj software) and the program crashes. Any other external sound card does not work. I've been through the Device Manager, no conflicts outside! during the series under the devices hidden.

I am lost, my only option, buying a card PCMCIA sound card, it worked fine before as surely as it is a software solution for this?

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

And what model of laptop you have exactly? As far as I know Toshiba has produced many different Satellites in the last ten years.

  • Satellite A200 - USB Ports stopped working

Hallo, I am DESPERATE for help, please.

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite A200 series with 32-bit Windows.

My USB ports give me major problems.

I use a USB Internet Modem on multiple computers and it works fine on all computers, including Toshiba.

A month earlier, Internet USB would suddenly and constantly disconnect itself from the Internet, when I use it in the USB one. When I use USB port two, he recorded no more. The port does not have the device.

Two USB ports work well when used by other USB products.

I had always used Internet USB into the USB port, with a cooling for my laptop fan, USB 2 port. Now, when I insert the cooling fan, USB Internet disconnects and will not register, at least I have remove fan, remove and reinsert the USB Internet.

    I did the following:

    1. start an anti-virus
2 uninstall, re-install and update all the drivers for the USB, chipset famlies, Internet Modem ports, EVERYTHING.
    3. I checked with my Internet provider, the problem lies in my PC, not them.

I don't know what to do, I'm tired.

    Help, please!

Now, when I insert the cooling fan, USB Internet disconnects and will not register, at least I have remove fan, remove and reinsert the USB Internet.

I think that it is a problem of USB power.

The USB 2.0 port provides 500mA, and in some cases more than USB ports can be connected to the same power supply to the motherboard.
In case the USB device connected (in your case fan) would need more than 500 ma, it could be that other USB devices do not work correctly.
I recommend you go to Device Manager and select the properties of USB controller.

The last "Power Management" tab contains the option to turn off the device to save power.
This option should NOT be checked. It should be disabled.

    Check it out.

  • Satellite Pro L10-103 - USB ports not working not

Hi, my Satellite Pro L10 - 103 USB Ports do not work. I tried different things and finally my Advisor rubbed my computer clean of all programs and operating system. After reloading of the set up disc and having lost my dear some programs I am no further forward. It still does not.

Anyone know if this means that it is a mechanical problem with the computer? (I use Windows XP). Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

As wrote Akuma did you use the Toshiba Recovery disk or the Microsoft Windows disk?

After installing XP, make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed. It contains important updates and can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba.

In addition, try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, restart the computer. Ports will still be recognized and ready to use once.

  • Satellite L310 - damaged USB port

Hai, I have of me sia, I saw a model Asia Satellite L310 USB pin damaged inside.
Which is I confirm not used to bad use by my own, & my friend recently purchase a new model problem Satellite M300 also face the same thing as mine. The service center in my country rejected my claim because they blame it on my own abuse.

Could you help us to investigate the following case please? urgent, your help will be very appreciated.

    > have a model of Asia Satellite L310 damaged the USB pin inside. Which is I confirm not used to bad use by my own, & my friend recently purchase a new model problem Satellite M300 also faced the same as mine
That s very strange and I cannot believe that
I mean if the PIN to USB ports was broken on the first day of purchase, then why you didn't visit your dealer and asked the replacement of the laptop?

However, I had 2 portable satellite in the past. Series not Asian but portable European Satellite. Now, I m using a satellite A210 and all USB ports is OK on all my series.

You must have simply no chance cause

  • Satellite M300 - works only one USB port on the right side

    Hello

in the series of M, Toshiba M300 satellite (red), there is a port USB combo and something else, and also another USB port ordinary on the * left * side of the laptop. There is also a USB port on the * right * side.
Currently, for some reason, on my right, the USB port works (in other words, the laptop detects) and my left side, where there are 2 USB ports, it does not work (in other words, it does not detect it) I have no idea how solve this problem.

And what happens if you connect the external USB mouse?
    It work?

    > I have the toshiba recovery of the burned disc, should I use it?
Why not, you can test it with the new operating system preinstalled too.

  • Satellite P10 - USB port no longer work

    Hello

I have a huge problem with my computer usb portable-ports(satellite p10).

After that I tried to connect my hard drive external with my laptop, all of my devices usb is lost. I tried to update all the drivers for the chipset and usb. I even updated my bios, but without success.

Even other usb devices as my camera and mp3 player not recognized by the computer system. But it seems that the usb port still have power because my mp3 player display a reaction even without battery power.

I hope that someone knows a solution for this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

I don't know, but if the USB port is bad there is also a no power supply possible. In my opinion, the mp3 player shows a reaction because the device detects a connection to the USB port.

In my opinion, you should contact the Service of your country partner and let check the device. I don t know how old your unit and if the warranty is still valid.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A200 - issue USB ports - failed to read the USB

I have a Satellite A200 series - and when I insert a dongle in the USB Ports - nothing is read or seen when I go via explores.
In this case for an external mouse or my USB storage - yet it will recognize my Ipod when I need to recharge the battery.

All of the suggestions, I'll be very grateful.

    See you soon

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know if you are using the OS preinstalled Toshiba.
Second, you must check the status of the USB controller in Device Manager.

I recommend you to unplug all external USB devices to the laptop.
Delete all the USB root hubs and Device Manager USB host controllers.
Then restart the laptop and wait until Windows will reinstall all USB ports again.
Then you can plug in a USB mouse or USB again.

    Check it out
