  I found the solution to this problem. I went to another Windows help forum. It is to reset the Windows Update program. I tried the one here on the Microsoft site, and it did not work. But I tried this one http://wind8apps.com/windows-update-error-code-8024a000/ and the fist solution worked like a charm. He fixed the update and install issues with Powershell 2.0. After that and a certain number of updates, it's updated, Windows Update will update to the latest version. After this release he went and found many updates, I had to install.   If the Vista Ultimate is a full retail product and then install it here.  You may need to use telephone activation, but this isn't a problem.
   
  If it is a Vista Ultimate upgrade version, you must have an operating system that is valid for upgrade and without a preinstalled OS or a license for the new computer "legally" impossible to install the upgrade version.
   
  XP OEM license for the old system died with the old system and cannot be used for the new computer as a qualifier for an upgrade.

  I seem to have a problem similar but different enough to justify a new thread. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and after the connection, I get a black screen with a cursor that can move normally. However, it becomes more complicated as everyone else. System Restore was only a restore point on March 1, which did nothing even though the computer was working fine, March 1.
