  What you need to do is to find, on your PC, the IPD file created when you backed up. Search your entire hard drive *. IPD. Then use this file as the source of a restoration of your new BB (choose ONE of these KB, depending on the version of the RIM Desktop software you have already installed on your PC):

  I seem to have lost the ability to get a list of texts on the 'Instant Messaging' icon on my Blackberry 9300 "BOLD".

  I know... it of old... but aims to talk and text to a particular group for me perfectly.

  I could see a list of all the received texts before, respond to their or implement a new text to a 'Contact' or a new person.

  I can't access that now... I need to reset it or another icon who will do the same thing to the new text.

  Curiously the texts to CONTACTS are available to the title of the RECENT ACTIVITY and I can see them and respond, and they can send texts back, but there is no notification of any reception of new texts.

  I also see texts that I saved in the Messages saved in the Applications folder

  Sorry... I guess the question is what are the options?
  I could go into the Desktop Manager and see if I can add TEXT messages to the device... It is already there, although I can't access the file, so hope that she will be synchronized with an upgrade?

  I have BB Maps on my Storm with Bell.

  First on your BB home screen, select the Applications folder.  On my BB maps is presented as the first icon.  If you don't find it after scrolling in the folder Applications, then perhaps the Maps application has not been installed.

  To install the app, pull up the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, connect BB using the USB cable, click on Application Loader, and then click Start in Add/Remove Applications.  Scroll through the list and make sure that there is a check mark next to BlackBerry Maps.  Otherwise, the check, click Next and continue to install the application.  If it isn't already, then perhaps your BlackBerry Maps app was accidentally moved to another folder on your BB.  You will have to hunt to find it.  Or you could try installing it and then reinstall and it should appear in the application folder.

  Cannot do it this way.

  Your main messages folder will get all messages and messages. You can separate OUT the SMS SMS if you want (Messages > Menu > options > General Options > SMS and Email inboxes = separate).

  But the AOL mail will remain in the main messages folder. The AOL folder you can hide (highlight > Menu > hide) because it wil only duplicate post main AOL folder.

  BUT... big but Blackberry Desktop Manager seems to have no way to allow me to put this old backup of data in the new 9650.

  You should probably switch to a later version of the Desktop software. You can then use this KB:

  You will need the issue of verification in order to reset the BlackBerry ID; There is no way around it. If you have service with a carrier, they might be able to help with it. Other that to answer the verification question or get help from your provider (maybe), there is no other way to reset your BlackBerry ID. The only other alternative is to create a new and start over with it.

  On your home screen, press MENU (icon blackberry), scroll down to the bottom where you will see the ICON SHOW ALL option > mark it by pressing ENTER , search for your homescreen also in different folders.

  IF you don't try a battery pull reboot i; e. While the device is powered out of the expectation of the battery for 1 min. then reinsert it wait until your device restarts.

  Hi, can someone help me please?  I have three e-mail accounts on my phone and until two days ago I had four e-mail icons, one for each e-mail account and a general icon in emails went as well as individual accounts.

  For some reason, I lost one of the icons and although I continue to receive emails to this account they show only under the "general" or icon everything. I tried to remove and reinstall the account, but that does not work and following the advice given to other people on this forum who have lost icons does not either.

  1. on your home screen, press Menu > SHOW ALL, so that ALL DISPLAY is checked.
  2. look in EVERY folder on your device... Applications, instant messaging, downloads, etc.
  If you don't see it still, look at the Options > advanced > Applications. Do you not see it listed there?

  Now, if you don't always see on your "BOLD", open the e-mail icon > Menu button > Options or settings and find the setting that turns e-mail to the general account to the wide and see if that is enabled for the lost email icon.

  You should contact your carrier, they do not follow the registration, but you will need to convience for the IMEI or PIN number. With regard to your location, if the person has erased your device or use a different SIM card then this is not possible. If you had a device password setting then nobody can access your data, if anyone tries then your device will wipe itself. But if you don't have a device password value before disaster then yes it might be able to access your information in this device.

  I am a new owner of blackberry 8330 and I try to navigate around him.  I have set up my email with my AT & T email yahoo.  I see the icons for each of these accounts on the screen with all icons, each showed as a separate email account.  So why, when I click on my icon 'message', make all the emails of these accounts?  Seems to be a bit redundant for me to have icons for each email and then the 'message' box where they all appear.   Also, is there a way I can give these email accounts passwords so if someone had to pick up my phone, they couldn't read my emails?  I really don't want to have to lock my phone or have to sign my phone everytime I want to use it, a few passwords of these accounts.

  Some people like their messages to go to the same place. Personally, I find it boring so I created a folder on my home screen and I put in all the applications that I use right here, so I don't even have to watch them, but always know where they are snacks I have needed one of them. Password protecting your email, you can not, you can lock only of the whole device.

  Sure I deleted Brickbreaker, Poker, etc. on my 8520.  The "Games" folder disappeared. Do you have a "find" without a bit of chance whatsoever. Can I get back them?  Help!

  I don't understand what happened.  Since I got my new Blackberry Curve I lost my messages in my Inbox and call log three times.  It happened when the phone was not yet used, I went to send a text and all my previous messages were gone.  Nobody knows what could have happened or it there might be something wrong with my phone because I don't find any information anywhere.  Thanks for the help!

  It seems that the unit may be out of memory.

  Can you check under Options | Status and take note of your free file number. Then reset the unit by removing the battery and 1 min and replace it and let the device restarts. After that he did check and see if your free file number has increased.

  Also do you have a lot of third party applications on the device that you don't need? If so you can do in the Options | Advanced options | Applications and delete those you no longer need.
