  • have a lenovo G570 computer and recently lost the cd/dvd drive. What can I do to reinstall?

The cd/dvd drive used to work properly. Now when I put a cd or dvd, it will not engage or start. I can hear him enter and try to start.
When you click on my computer, the drive does not appear.
Don't know how it disappeared. Could be that some Windows Update? or when I installed the new kaspersky (do not think that it was really a cause)
Not a Moody person so don't know what else to do. I did go back and do a restore, but that did not help.
Given that the drive does not work I can not use the original disk, I created when I got the computer. Computer is about 2 years old... maybe a little less.

Oh, the only other possible cause I can think of is when I was wrong with my browser and load my att yahoo account. A representative of ATT spocked in my computer and worked behind the scenes to fix. Has they deleted my firefox and temporary files. Unfortunately I do not know exactly when I lost the cd/dvd drive. At this time, but I can't say for sure.

Let me know if there is something other information that you may need to help solve the problem. Thank you!

Try to scan your computer with RadarSync to find out if your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver is out of date or not. You can go for the free version. Once find you that it's really an outdated driver can cause the problem, then you can update the driver by searching in Google it or let the software do it for you.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

I lost my DVD Multi writer after update WInXP SP1 on my M200 Tablet of protégé. Restarting ElbyCheck reported a conflict with v3.00189 drag ' n Drop. I chose (foolishly) to solve it.

The situation is pretty much as described in FAQ ref: TRO0000001bf9 (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?service=EU&FID=TRO0000001bf9

Is it possible to reinstall the drivers and get the DVD without having to completely restore the tablet at its factory image?

The good news is that the DVD works - it properly allows the Recovery DVD-Rom Toshiba to initialize. The DVD is mounted in the docking station for M200 Tablet and I don't think that there is another way to connect to the tablet.

  • DVD drive does not appear on the screen of the reader 'computer '.

I lost access to the DVD drive. It does not appear on the screen of the reader 'computer '.
It starts with a disc inserted, but stops after about 20 seconds without opening all files.
The DVD comes on when it starts first and then turns off after a few seconds.
I have re-installed the driver of Toshiba and still no access.

I think it all started when I installed a new WD 1 TB external hard drive which its virtual CD drive on the E: drive, which was used by the installation DVD player. I moved the external hard drive G: and drive E: letter has left vacant, but still does not work.

Any ideas how I can fix this problem? It would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite L50D-B - faulty DVD drive does not recognize discs

Bought 2 months ago. The reader agrees not the CD, DVD or anything like that.
The name of the drive does not appear on the disc and if you double click on the DVD drive icon (even if a disc is inserted) the drawer opens and says please insert a disk. I tried several discs are not the issue.

So far I got technical support where I bought it.
They said to do a reinstall I did - with the full drive clean. I tried to update the drivers, but the computer insists on the fact that they are later. If I search my model number on the site of Toshiba driver support he gets rejected, and I have no access to (Toshiba) drivers.

I checked a few other forums and tried the regedit fix, but which is also irrelevant. If no solution is found (and I've lost hours of my life on this subject) then this laptop is going back for a refund and I'll get one who will perform the simple task of playing a DVD.

    Hello

Sorry to hear that you have such a stupid problem with your machine. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
In my opinion you should not waste your time checking and search for some drivers who probably will not help at all.

Reinstall the original operating system that you have with your machine and test functionality with the factory settings. If the result is the same contact your reseller or Toshiba service provider directly and ask for help. They can check ODD and Exchange if necessary.

Thirdly, after the formula of the week 3 buy the computer also dvd - cd player has the same problem, like the sound and when you open my computer that NO cd\dvd drive icon and when I put a cd or dvd, it does not work or run and it happens all the time, even if the laptop restarts.

Since then im able to watch movies or work.

I'm lost and I don't know what to do!
(Sorry for my bad English, but I hope you understand the problems)

    Hey Osama

I think I can help you. The questions that appear on your laptop are not serious and the only one associated with software or registry.

    Regarding your noise problem:
    Please check this Microsoft document

    or

    Regarding the missing CD/DVD drive;
I think you should try to remove the drive from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. Then the operating system should recognize the STRANGE again.
Secondly you should access the registry editor and should remove the upper filter and bring back the key filter

  • Satellite P305 - DVD drive missing registry method attempted

My satellite P305 lost the DVD icon in my computer.

So I tried to fix it by using the 'Register' method I have seen anywhere in the forums, but it didn't work as I have found a 'low' I don't think that the name but not the second registry value 'superior '. So now I can't use my PC DVD and I hope that I can reinstall the driver, although I doubt it.

The computer Troubleshooter said the problem is that the registry file is damaged or missing (before I tried to fix it). I had been using a burner and burn a DVD that took a lot of time to complete the level of 99%, so I clicked to close the program thinking that the information was already coded on the DVD and there is nothing for the program to do but stop, but it did not work and the program have remained frozen. The program I used was called Cheetah Burner, in case you are interested in knowing. So I ejected the disk (perhaps after control-alt-delete, not sure) and probably restart the computer again, to see that the program had taken place.

So please tell me how to deal with this, soon. I need to solve this young to continue working!

    Thank you

    Ash.

    Hey Ash,

I think you mean the upper and lower filters in the registry. Is this fair?
Normally, this should help about problems with the CD/DVD drive but you've already tried this?

In your case, I would try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager (right click > uninstall). After the reboot the drive will be recognized again and maybe it works.
In addition, you n t need another driver because it s a part of the operating system. Updated this driver peut t.

Another interesting thin: you can boot from a disc?

  • Satellite L30-134 - replacing the CD/DVD drive

    Hi all

I hope I can get some help here.

Recently, I lost my CD drive on my L30 and want to replace it. I could do with is a view for the bit of nuts and bolts exploded and the model number of the drive of CD-ROM or a replacement compatible if anyone know of one?

I carefully removed the screw of the record but seem to have some sort of fixation in the center that I can't understand, no screws showing, but he seems firmly attached.

    Thanks for the tips
    John

    > Yes, I suppose a user manual would list the compatible replacements, but unfortunately, I n t I a.
LOL, you can download it from the page of European support from Toshiba!
    Check it out here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/-> support & download

The STRANGE can be removed very easily. You must remove the screw just one ONLY which is placed at the bottom of the unit, near the memory slot cover!
Then, it should be possible to get out the reader of CD/DVD of the Bay.

    See you soon

  • CD/DVD drive does not appear in Windows 8

My CD/DVD drive no longer appears in Windows Explorer in point 8.1 of Windows on my desktop HP Pavilion Slimline 400-034. The disc rotates during startup. I tried the troubleshooting of Microsoft Window 8 with no luck. I would try the HP troubleshooting which requires access BIOS when booting, but by pressing F10 at startup me does not BIOS but Windows load normally. Any suggestions to at least help me get the BIOS?

Solved! No. thanks to HP. Even if I had never opened the file on my PC and make sure that the cable DVD could not be disconnected, I decided to look for. Much to my surprise, he has been disconnected - but not by me - by a HP technician. I remembered that I had to return the PC to HP to replace the power supply warranty in June 2014. Not only have they not reconnect the cable SATA DVD, they put the cable from the hard drive in the MB connector where the DVD cable was supposed to be. After trial and error and insert the DVD cable in the 3 open SATA connectors with no luck, and finally move the cable from the hard drive to another connector and put the cable DVD where the cable from the hard drive was, the DVD has been recognized by Windows and working correctly. Thanks to HP for the many hours I lost to try to correct their mistake.

  • Loss of CD/DVD driver on the upgrade to Windows 10

I have a gateway all-in-One ZX4270 model which I updated from Windows 8.1 to 10.  Everything is OK except that I apparently lost my CD/DVD drive in the process.  He is still physically there, and he turns a drive when it is inserted, but the computer does not recognize the drive.  It is not shown on the file Explorer.   Based on the advice of the Microsoft forum, I first run the troubleshooter (no effect) and then uninstalled the driver in the Device Manager and rebooted, but no new driver has been installed.  I looked on the Acer website for a new driver to download, but none seem to be included.  Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I'm sorry but I'm out of ideas.  I don't know if the registry change will help or cause problems.

  • New image a XP machine: you can do it without a DVD drive?

The DVD drive is unusable for a long time.  The computer has no other disks. The computer don't boot-it lost power during disk scan and is now toast.  I have the operating system CD and a CD to restore more.  So, how can I re - image?

    Well, it's much more promising.

You can reinstall a USB (see below) or create a bootable USB key with the XP Recovery Console and run chkdsk /R (Recovery Console also has tools to fix the boot.ini file and of Master Boot Record, but it is not obvious that you should do this).  Do a recovery USB Console--> http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=pfwc&cp=22&gs_id=2e&xhr=t&q=xp+recovery+console+usb&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=xp+recovery+console+us&aq=0&aqi=g4&aql=f&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2, or.r_gc.r_pw & fp = fc1f175dc4ba964c & biw = 1024 & bih = 649

As the computer starts, before it is for files scrollbar (these are messages on the various loading files), you should see a message at the bottom of the screen that says something like "to change system settings, press .  The key can vary depending on the brand of your computer.  Press - while the message on the key shows - and you must enter the BIOS configuration utility.

If your computer is able to boot from a USB device (more computer, less likely, it is), you should be able to reorder the boot devices.

There are a number of Web sites that have instructions to do a XP install from a USB key.  I did not successfully myself so I can't recommend one over the rest.  See http://liliputing.com/2009/08/easiest-way-to-install-windows-on-a-netbook-with-a-usb-flash-drive.html
