HP Officejet 6500 E710: How to create desktop icon to launch the Scanner dialog box?
I would like to create a desktop icon to launch the Scanner dialog box. I'm not a fan of the approach to Tile Windows.
Under Windows, 8.1, there was a desktop icon which allow me to connect to my Officejet 6500 unit and allow the scan to computer option. Who disappeared with the upgrade of Windows 10.
I ran the print and Scan doctor and it solved the problems. When I went to test scanning, it arises from the familiar dialog box where I could choose different settings.
It worked perfectly. But after having closed the doctor, I could not find any place to launch the new dialogue box, outside the doctor.
I downloaded and installed the scanning HP and Capture app. It works very well, but I rather not leaving office to launch it, or use it enough to justify the taskbar setting.
Is it possible to create a desktop icon for the application of scanning and Capture
or
is there a way to create an icon to launch the dialog box scan that print and Scan Doctor uses?
I prefer this one.
Hello
Thank you for using the HP Forums. Is there a way to create the shortcut to scan on your desktop. Try the following steps:
1. open a file Explorer
2 C: > Program Files (x 86)
3 program Files (x 86) > HP
4 HP > HP Officejet 6500
5 HP Officejet 6500 > Bin
6 bin > Scanner HP
7. right click on the analysis of HP and "create shortcut".
You'll get a prompt that "Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead? Select "Yes".
Hope that helps!

How to reduce desktop icons?
I accidentally moved my mouse too fast, perhaps while pressing another button I do not know too much and now all the icons on my destop are enlarged and I can't shrink them back to the original size.
Can anyone help?
Hey Buddy,
I put t know what OS you have, but on Windows 7 system you can change the size of icons if you right-click on desktop > view. There you can choose between small, medium and large icons.
For example I put small icons because it s enough in my opinion. :)

TX Hotsync on the new PC and SOME data lost - how to recover?
Recently, I've migrated to a Windows XP to Windows 7 (64-bit) PC.
I have a Palm Tx and use Palm Desktop 6.2.2.
I got my timing to work following the instructions of wifi posted elsewhere in this forum (it is now working on a regular basis).
But after syncing, I discovered that about 60 or 70 of my address book entries are missing! They are always on my handheld, but not in the office. Most of the time, the paper says it syncs fine, but sometimes it shows that not all the files are copied, and there are 416 entries on my desk and 487 on the handheld. A minor drawback is that almost all of the entries also have the wrong category, but am less worried about it.
Short to manually enter all the missing entries on my desktop, manually delete them from your handheld and synchronize again once, suggestions, how to get them in both places without duplicates?
I ran DBFixIt on my address book - he says that there is no problem. No idea what other troubleshooting I can do, but looking for advice!
Have you tried to go to hotsync and defining the conduit on handheld overrides desktop. I have bluetooth and cable hotsync with my TX on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I don't have a problem with the contacts because I use the Palm Desktop version that came with my TX. I had XP Pro on my computer and recently updated also. Your problem is real common with the version of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 for 32-bit and 64-bit computers.

Operating system has lost how to recover?
Hello, three years ago, I bought a Compaq Presario CQ61-104sv (of the Greece, now I live in Germany) at the same time, after my warranty was expired, I got some virus problems and I lost it all hard disks as well as the recovery of the BONES! I installed a temporary copy of my cousin Windows 7. The original operating system was Windows Vista Home Basic x 86 SP1 (Greek).
So my question is: are there at - it a means of digital download, a copy of these windows in order to reinstall them and activate using the CD key located under my laptop? (I can provide the information to apropriate S/N etc...) the problem is that I could not contact the customer by e-mail service because my warranty is expired.
Thanks in advance.
Hello
HP do not offer a download option, but there is a workaround you could use to reinstall Vista on your laptop detailed below.
In the same way that it is possible to create a disc of the retail of Windows 7, use this to perform the installation, and then use the OEM windows 7 activation key from COA label, the same process is possible if your laptop comes with Vista. A complete description (including links to downloads of Vista Image) of it on the following link.
Other software and drivers you need can be found here.
Kind regards

Show Desktop icon is missing from the Quick Launch bar
Original title: Windows Search
I have Windows XP, home edition, SP3, IE8, and I lost one of my desktop icons that I use frequently. This is the icon that is always in the taskbar, as well as a few others. The icon is what opens on the desktop whenever you click on it. It is a white square that looks like a block of office paper, with a figure of what looks like a pencil or pen appearing thereon. Somehow, somehow, it was deleted, and I can't find where to get it back. I have been in the control panel on 'VIEW' and no luck, only we in the menu of the taskbar and start and he can find, checked a large number of menus that contain the word "Desktop" in it and I clicked on a large number of them also without a bit of luck too. Once more, he is a white icon and is still in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen of the monitor. Someone knows must return this icon... any help would be appreciated.

Good afternoon
Somehow, I don't know how, but all desktop icons have been modified in Adobe PDF format, when I click on it I get the following message: cold Adobe Reader not open 'iexplore.exe' because it is not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, if sent as an attachment to e-mail and has not been correctly decoded).
Either way is correct without reloading Windows 7?
