• Emails lost after the updates installed

  After installing the updates I don't get emails from people telling me they sent me emails to my yahoo e-mail address. I would get at least 100 emails a day and now I get less than 5 per day. What happened to my mail since I installed these upgrades?   (a) you did it any significant hardware or changes to software on the computer before this problem?

  (b) what is the exact error message you get when installing update fails?

  The question may arise if the Windows downloaded update packages are corrupt. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

  Method 1:

  Try to run that Windows update utility provided in the following link.

  Problems with installing updates

  Try to install the updates after running the troubleshooter.

  If the problem persists, try the following method.

  Method 2:

  I suggest you use Deployment Image Servicing and Management for fix Windows Update errors.

  (a) open an elevated command prompt. To do this, press the Windows key + Q and type in CMD right click on command prompt in the list and select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

  (b) type the following commands. Press enter after each command

  • DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  • DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

  (c) close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.

  Check if the problem persists.

  I get so irritated by Firefox update notifications interrupting my work process and autmatic on MY computer. So although I consider it an invasion of my privacy and safety. If necessary I will set up a web site to mount a campaign against this disgraceful practice, which in reading some posts available that I can see are also a source of concern for other users.
  Even in the best of cases where I could tolerate the choices of a response to "Ask later" which does not carteblanche Firefox ask me in 5 minutes.
  It's particularly irritating for me because I have my computer configured to perform automatic operations that then get sabotaged by these notification settings appearing frequently. I really don't want to have to change the browser because I don't know if others are better.
  I need a clear answer personal Mozilla thse on how I can kill these settings using my computer within 24 hours or I reserve the right to implement a campaign site to highlight this unacceptable behavior on the part of mozilla.

  I also recommend Mozilla only IF they are interested in getting community support to streamline their web site so that users can more easily find how to become members able to ask questions, but uncomfortable for Mozillla.

  The update settings are stored in the mms.cfg file.  On Mac, it is located in/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/mms.cfg

  There are two types of updates: background updates and Notification:

  • For background updates Flash Player checks an update once a day (this interval is not adjustable), in the background, and if an update is found, it automatically installs the player, silently in the background.  No user interaction is required.
    • The parameters of the file mms.cfg for background updates are:

  AutoUpdateDisable = 0

  SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

  • Flash Player checks for updates of the Notification, an update, silently in the background once every 7 days (this interval is adjustable).  If an update is detected, a Notification of update dialog box displays informing the user that an update is available.  The user can proceed to the installation or service of notice to reject.  If rejected, the process repeats again within 7 days. For updates of the Notification, the user will be asked to provide a password for the Admin to install Flash Player.  If your users do not have administrator permissions or access an administrator account, then updates background would be the best option.
    • Updates the notification:

  AutoUpdateDisable = 0

  SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 0

  • To change the Notification update check interval, add AutoUpdateInterval = #, where # is the number of days between intervals (valid values are 0-30, where 0 checks each content Flash in time is read, 1 is once per day, etc.).

• Last update of the custom settings lost, extensions, etc.

  This week, through the opinion of the Manager to update, I've updated my Dreamweaver CS6 (and other products CS6).

  When then restart Dreamweaver, I noticed that I had lost my layout custom; all DW extensions have been listed as installed, but were not available. I had to remove and then add back to be available.

  Have not done enough to see so many losts otherwise customized. Although, noted that some indicators I had added code was gone and had to be redone.

  Disappointing because I lost time and not even sure exactly how I got the custom layout.

  Was there (or in the furture is) all what I could have done before the update to ensure would not have lost these precious settings?

  Has been a pain and make me hesitant to be updated in the future. I have not yet checked with Flash Pro to see if something similar occurred.

  Wanted to make users aware of this and perhaps warn people of DW of this behavior.

  Really appreciate all the hard work of creating updates, but every time I update I lose my remarks: the configuration parameters, especially the browser.tab that I trust. Specifically, I use the default on InsertRelatedAfterCurrent and all the ones warning settings. (I don't want to be notified). I also use the tabs on the background plugin which needs to be reinstalled after major updates. I run Firefox at least 4 separate machines is a pretty huge headache of having to reconfigure after each update.
