lost the ability to create a "new folder".

After I closed the Sunday evening I had the "not - or disconnect - 2 updates. Monday, I discovered that I had lost the ability to create a "new folder"!  By clicking on the "new folder" button does nothing.  Do a right click in the box brings up a drop down window that does not list "new folder" in "new...". "No one knows what happened or how to make the"new folder"button to work again?  Thanks for any help.  Abbi

  • Running Vista Home Premium - lost the ability to create new folders

Running registered OEM Edition Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 531 AthlonII 4400 + 2.3 GHz, 4 X 1 024 MB 800 MHz Crucial memory, Asus M2N61-AX micro-ATX Mobo, OS on 80 GB Seagate HDD, storage of files on 500 GB Seagate HDD... Has worked perfectly for over a year.

Installed the free version of "PC Wizard" who has downloaded a bunch of Add-ons that I didn't, so I uninstalled them.  Two days later, when downloading a file, could not create a new folder when you click "New folder" in the top left corner to-do bar (arrange, etc.).  Then tried to create a new folder by right-clicking on the desktop, on the C: drive & drive F: (storage) using Windows Explorer.  No errors, no "new folder" created.  Also impossible to rename folders.  Action seems to work, but when checking the file later, the same name.

PC works perfectly also.  Tried to restore to the point of previous restoration, without success.  Played "dskcheck" on drive C: with both options checked, no problems found, clean disc.

Of course, I would appreciate the help.  Thank you.

I've just updated to the new Firefox, and now when I try to create a new folder of bookmarks, the option is gone (I see all of my folders of old, but the "New folder" option, which was on the bottom of the dropdown menu, disappeared. Or I see it anywhere else.

Looks like the theme you use has changed the button "new folder". This is probably the icon "+" under the folder tree (you can also type Alt + o in the Bookmark dialog box to create a new folder).

See my screenshot for the placement w / the default theme.

  • What happened to my ability to create a new folder and how do I solve this problem?

I can no longer create a new folder on my PC. I used for the right click, select 'new', choose 'new folder' and it appeared.  Now, "new folder" is not in the list, and I can't create a same folder by selecting the option from the top of an existing folder. Anyone know what happened?  Thank you!

  • LOVs cascading with the ability to create a new record.  Is this possible?

    Hello

I am trying to create a couple of LOVs. The first is a list of manufacturers, the second a list of items. Essentially, when you select a manufacturer from the first LOV you will see their articles in the second LOV.

I had a look through the forum and I think I have a handle on how to make a waterfall... except LOV...

I would like users to have the ability to enter a NEW manufacturer and a NEW element if necessary and have this combination, then saved in the source table.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you

    Hello

Browsers is not the drop-down list box functionality that you would find in something like MS Access. You could try autocomplete - see [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:53] - but you would have to search all the entries (the field only would focus on the display text and not the ID of the element, which would have to be searched every time).

I want to say that you should be able to trust your users to not create duplicates. I want to say this, but... ;)

  • I am not given the opportunity to create a new folder only one file compressed

When I right click to add a new folder, the only option is to create a compressed zip folder. What can I do?

Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible for the loss of the option new folder. Even if Chrome has not been installed, here are two hotfixes.

  • When I right click on New I don't have the ability to create a new file. I can't understand tihis.

I can no longer create new folders.  This is a recent problem and I think that may be related to a program called Hamster is a program free zip.  The last change, I remember making was by clicking on the context menu to update the program free zip and when I did it was in Russian.  Then my Chrome and IE both turned to Russia even after uninstalling the program of Hamster.  So I uninstalled reinstalled Chrome and installed IE 10.  I am on Windows 7 and I have automatic updates on.  I got rid of the Russia, but now I can't make a new folder on my desktop or in any program on my computer.

    Hello Carolyn,

Glad to hear its working for you - and thank you for posting your process and your efforts to solve the problem. Its always nice to get (mostly positive) comments! And now a favor to ask - mark you my answer as your "response", it contributes to my reputation here on this site. Thank you.

  • Why is that I lost the ability to create folders of files within windoows?

You have installed chrome? It's looking like a recent update of chromium may be the cause. If you want to remove Chrome and restart to test, please do. To fix it without removing chrome, here are your options.

After "right click" on the file, everything I have to the 'News' section in the menu is 'Binder '.  Anyone out there have a solution?

    Hello

You have a common problem with Windows 7. The work that I and many others use is a utility called FileMenu Tools. You can download safely from this link: http://download.cnet.com/FileMenu-Tools/3000-2094_4-10810545.html .

After downloading, double-click the name of the file and install the program. Each option is checked by default. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Kind regards
