Lotus SmartSuite 9.8 tries to install in Windows 7

The Compaq Presario with Windows XP and Lotus Organizer 4.1 demo is about to bite the dust, and I REALLY don't want to lose the data. I bought a HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with 750 GB HDD and a disc of Lotus SmartSuite Millennium 9.8.1 and could really use a detailed step by step how to install the Lotus program - I'm so scared to mess up my laptop and winding up with nothing.

My hard drive, readers are listed as drive Local (c) and (d) recovery and the RW DVD drive (E :) - when I double click on the E: drive, I get "Error the system registry access" and "unexpected error;) quit smoking»

When I click with the right button on the E: drive & click on properties, I just get tabs ' General, hardware, sharing, customize, recording ".

When I click Start type E: - I get a list of items on E: autorun, Extra, fonts, Lotus, System32, Temp, Windows, autorun, instmsia, instmsiw, ISRun, Lotus SmartSuite-English ReadMe, ReadNet and 3 configurations (I find is .exe).  If I click on the setup.exe, he asks "do allow you the program following an unknown Publisher to make changes to this computer? I did have the courage to click Yes. This install program or mess up my laptop?  If I click Yes, are there questions on, or am, I did, running?

I'm not computer illiterate, but am also not irritable and would appreciate help leading me through this installation.  Thank you in advance.

I installed Lotus Smart Suite 9.8 on several computers Windows 7 without problem.  Do not click twice on the CD or enable autorun to start the installation, simply use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the CD, then right click on Setup.exe and choose 'Run as administrator', it should install just fine.

    My dell laptop had the hard drive replaced.  My son, who knows computers, installed the new hard drive.  Then he tried to install my Windows XP Professional software - when it came time to put the product key #, it was not accepted.  It's authentic.  The product key is: * removed *.

    There no mention of this issue in section outages or other information provided in the booklet provided.  Can you help me with this problem?

    The license key and product type must match (XP Home vs XP Pro;)  (and OEM license vs the retail license).  If it's a Dell computer and you get the product key from a sticker on the case, then there is likely a version of Windows XP OEM this product key.  If you install Windows XP from a retail installation disk, then the types of licenses will not match.  You will need to use the license that accompanies the retail installation disc or you will need to contact Dell for an OEM installation disc to go with the license on your sticker case.

  • Error - "the CD key you entered is invalid" when trying to install the Windows XP computer.

    Original title: Windows XP CD Key can expire?

    My old machine with Windows XP installed should be trashed. I want to install Windows XP on a netbook Eee. The Win XP CD is a CR - ROM with the retail CD. It was given by my former neighbor who worked at Microsoft and purchased at a reduced price.

    Trying to install Windows XP, I had pop-up window "you entered the CD key is not valid. I installed Windows XP Home edition using this CD key several times on my old machine, to clean the operating system after a certain period of malware infection. The CD key is certainly valid.

    So what's happening? The CD key can expire after a certain number of years? Note that what's happening during the initial installation - before the first logon. There is no internet connection. So it is not possible for the installation check if this CD key is used elsewhere.

    I tried several times. Whenever I got this error in the installation step "installation of Windows.

    The message itself is that I quoted above "the CD key you have entered is not valid.

    These are the typical reasons, you would get such a message:

    1. the user enters in the key not associated with the retail disk but another key, usually on top of the COST of the PC sticker.

    2. at least one of the characters has been entered incorrectly. This could be because of user error or a faulty keyboard.

    Just to be sure: you use a real retail CD? Or is it a generic OEM CD that was bought in a store?

    A way around this problem is to use an XP SP3 integrated in a installation CD. If your CD is SP2 or earlier, you can create one on the scale of SP3, using a process called "slipstreaming". Then everything just when it's time to enter your product key, don't! Then you will see this window:

    http://ethertubes.com/wp-content/uploads/WinXPSP3-2.PNG

    You will have 30 days to activate (and enter the product key). This page should help:

  • Vista Windows tried to install two windows 7

    PC is HP running on Windows Vista. Tried to install the dual-boot with Windows 7 to different partitions. Everything was fine, but had to leave to cancel installation of windows 7. The installation was incomplete.

    Now everytime I restart the PC, the display shows HP restore & Factory Reset on the loop.

    First priority is to ensure that all current data stored in windows vista is safe and not affected. Was not aware that the data was not justified. I want to go ahead with the installation of windows 7 that after it is confirmed that the data is safe.

    How can I do to ensure that the data is safe, save it and then continue the installation of windows 7. Please restore hp page guide. Student and extremely worried. Help, please.

    Hello

    First thing you want to do is to back up your data and get Vista boot once again, before you start to worry about installation of Windows 7 as a dual Boot.

    Saving your files:

    You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

    Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

    HP recovery to factory settings is just that, HP, no Microsoft software.

    It's up to you if you want to back up your data, and then reinstall, or take the risk to a non-destructive recovery of HP, which case you MAY lose all your data.

    You can try a startup repair and / or a system restore using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft

    Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

    Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

    If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

  • Update hangs when it tries to install in Windows 7

    just bought a new laptop from Sony with Windows 7 and immediately Windows wants to update with 35 updates.  Updated 17, system crashes, and it has been sitting there to install the update for 4 hours how to stop this and corredt problem.

    Hi Sheilancoco,
    Update froze the computer?
    If it is still frozen, cancel it.

    I suggest that you follow these steps and check if it works to solve the problem.

    Step 1:

    Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...)  Except the mouse and keyboard, then boot\start up
    If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.
    Check the updates that have failed in the history of the update.

    a. open Windows Update by clicking on the button start. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.

    (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

    c. to display more information about an update, double-click it.

    Step 2:

    If it does not solve the problem, I suggest you force shut down, restart your computer, and then temporarily disable all security software and try to install the updates.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 3:

    If this does not resolve the problem, put your computer in a clean boot State and try to install the updates.

    Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

    Hello

    Do the following and check:

    Step 1:

    Try to do a Scan of the SFC (System File Checker). The scan will look bad system files and will attempt to fix them, if possible.

    (a) click the Start button.
    (b) type: cmd.exe in the search results.
    (c) right click the cmd.exe file and select 'run as administrator '.
    (d) in the CMD window, type: sfc/scannow and press the Enter key.
    (e) restart and see if that solves the problem.

    How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Step 2:

    If the problem persists, you can also scan your computer the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

    The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

    Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Let us know if it helps.

    If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

    As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

    As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista repair disc.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    There is not a disk of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    If the ISP above Mathods to solve your problems, save your data using one of the methods below, and then reinstall Windows:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1 in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • Impossible to install 10 Windows on Bootcamp partition
    #1
    Hello! I just tried to install Windows 10 on my Macbook with a 32 GB USB using Bootcamp. Everything was fine until I came to the part where I have to choose the partition where I want to install my Windows 10 and of course I chose the Bootcamp partition, but in fact I couldn't click on 'next' (I was so stupid and don't format it).
    So I just format the Bootcamp partition and when I tried to click 'next' he just told me 'we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. I went through google and searched all regarding this problem and there are a lot of guys having almost the same or exactly the same 'error' when trying to install 10 Windows on the Bootcamp partition, but nothing has really helped me. I deleted everything except my USB key and someone told me that I should only have 4 partitions or less.
    He shows me the 4 partition but there are two partitions (3) and two partition (1).
    Is this a problem?
    I hope someone can help me install Windows 10 with Bootcamp! Thank you very much!
    You have a Fusion drive, which is usually not sold on a MacbookPro? You can check model/year your Mac? Please, do not post the serial number of your Mac.
    If you replaced the optical drive to create your own Fusion player, you can run the questions, depending on the year/model of your Mac.
  • Install a Windows XP MCE instead of using the recovery CD
    Hello and sorry for my English
    I tried to install a Windows XP MCE "naked" instead of TOSHIBA restore CD. Because I don't need a lot of the software inside the TOSHIBA ghost. But unfortunately, the key to my certificate of authenticity of Windows in my Toshiba A100 stickers did not with a normal installation.
    Is it possible to use this key to install an original Windows XP MCE?
    N ° this key (license) belongs to the operating system shipped on your recovery media and it is not a kind of universal key that you can use with each CD installation of the full version.
