It sounds really bad. In my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can check and, if necessary, exchange the HARD drive.

  • Noise from HDD on my brand new DX730 - 10K

I'm sorry for my bad English skills, but I will try to explain my problem.

I bought my DX730 a few days ago and especially I'm frankly pleased with the pc, but I'm worried by the hard drive.
In my opinion it works a little to rabies because the laptop I had before was quieter, in caprison to the pc.

Is it normal to hear the hard drive obviouisly?
Or is there something wrong with it?

I would be happy to answer!

    Hello

It of always difficult to give you advice without checking the noise.
But in most cases its nothing that a HARD drive makes an unusual noise.
The noise is due to the rotation of the disk and the read/write head movements.

In addition, the noise can be stronger or quitter using different hard drives from different manufacturers, so in my opinion, you should not be worried, but to be safe, back up the data always.

  • No area of HDD on the Satellite A300-203

    Hello

Start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. On the first page (main), you can see some basic information on CPU, speed of the processor, RAM and also on HARD drive.

When you enter the BIOS settings check that and then set the default settings. You can do this by using F9button (see background task with options bar).

  • Satellite A30: strange loud noise from speaker & headphone

    Hi guys,.

I bought this laptop some time ago (3-4 months). Don't worked fine, no problems at all. Used VOIP (Skype), etc.

Then I started having strange noises of frying (speaker and headphone).

And now - after a month or two, I started having this problem - I can not record voices.
This laptop isn't microphone with microphone. tested the microphone with another laptop, it works fine.

Reinstall the driver did not help. :(

    Anyone any idea?

    THX!

    * @ matt13 *.
If the technicians have tested this laptop and didn t find any abnormality of speaker then everything seems to be ok.
You said you play bad music. I think you mean bad quality music.
Then I n t wonder some frying noise seems to play this kind of music.

    *@bzsolt*
I recommend reinstall the operating system, because I noticed a similar problem on my laptop and after a fresh install, everything was ok.

  • Replacement of the HDD on the Satellite A60

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A60. The old 30 GB Toshiba HDD (MK3025GAS) died. I bought a 60 GB Toshiba HDD (MK602GAX) as a replacement.

My problem is that I can't get the bios to see the new drive and start with it. "For the old disk bios dead says under ' built in HDD = Primary IDE (1F0H/IRQ14). With the new HARD drive it says "built on the disk HARD = No. Drive'."

Using a cd, I installed Ubuntu on the new HARD drive. The ubuntu installation cd sees the new HARD drive and allows me to format it and install Ubuntu. When the installation is complete, and I try to start Ubuntu, nothing happens, and the menu of the Bios still displays "built on the disk HARD = No. Drive'."

If I run Ubuntu from a cd I can 'explorer' 60 GB HARD drive and see all the installed files of Ubuntu. I can't boot the PC from the HARD disk or just to get the BIOS to recognize his presence.

I'm a bit confused and don't know what to do. Ideas anyone?

For me, this looks like a compatibility issue. Unfortunately there is no public document where we can find info on all compatible disks.
To be honest I m really wondering why the new HARD drive is not recognized correctly. Problem, is that you can not force laptop recognize each RAM or HARD drive.

    What to do now?
I put t think some update of the BIOS will help so I m afraid you must get a new or another HDD and test if it works or not.
I presume that this 60 GB HARD disk was not new, right?

  • Re: HDD on the Satellite L755 recovery facility

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite L755. Accidentally I formatted the laptop without using HARD drive recovery option. My recovery partition went hard drive means there is no partition on drive now for HARD drive recovery.

But yesterday when I searched in my laptop, I found a folder of HARD disk recovery consist of files of the HDD to format .swm and .crc and other files as a folder of boot manager .tools etc..
Now, I want to install my HARD drive recovery files.

How to install the files from my HARD drive? I tried to install the HARD drive recovery utility, but no compact version for my model is available.
    Help me pls...

    I have

You can install the recovery image of HARD drive following the instructions

This way only to s to install it.

Did you create the recovery disk?

  • Upgrade the HDD on the Satellite U200

3 months ago I bought a Toshiba SATELLITE PRO U200 Jarir Bookstore in Saudi Arabia and I now want to move the HDD of 80 GB to 160 GB.
However, I note that 1.46 GB the drive hard EISA is partitioned and is not assigned a drive letter. I guess that's the operating system or something like the laptop came preloaded with Windows Vista Business.
I have the DVD of restoration and would normally just mount the new drive and boot from the DVD following the same procedure as a normal PC. But I can't copy the EISA partition on the new disk. How to pass on the new disk?

    Hello

Why not to duplicate the entire HARD drive on the new. There are enough programs fulfil-> www.ubcd4win.com.

Otherwise just install your new HARD drive in your machine, perform a restore of the system on your new HARD drive, copy your files on it and that's all. Don t worry about the partition, if it s on your old HARD drive and restoring the system should probably create it on the new hard drive.

You won´t know until you've tried it. :)

Please give some feedback after your restored your system, would be interesting to know if the recovery has created a new partition "EISA".

    Welcome them

  • Additional HDD in the Satellite Pro A300 1NT

    Hello.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1NT. I would like to know if this model can mount a second hard drive (additional). From what I read, some models have this chance.
Looking at the underside of the lid is a place for such a disc. But before you try to install I want to make sure.

    I exactly marked model PSAGE-00P00MPL

    Anyone know the answer?

The HARD drive connector is available? Can see you?

  • Re: Replacement of HDD on the Satellite L40-12 X

    Hello
I have Satellite L40-12 X with 5400 RPM 120 GB HARD drive and I would like to buy a new HARD drive, but I wonder if 500 GB at 7200 RPM will be compatible with my laptop?

Below is the basic information, but I can't find more information about it. Polish same technical support is not able to give me the answer. So, I would like to ask if there is someone who has replaced the HARD drive in this book and what type of HARD drive I can buy?

    http://CE.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?PRODUCT_ID=131705&disc _ MODEL = 1 & LNG = 20 & service = THIS

    THX for your help
    Andrew

You will not be able to find answers to these questions and Toshiba doesn't offer the database page or support for certain models of laptops with a list of all compatible parts.

If your laptop's SATA HDD theoretically there should be no problem to use 500 GB HARD drive.
It is: so it must be exactly 500 GB?

  • Installation of a new HDD in the Satellite 4320 Pro, advice?

I need a new HARD drive in my baby, his old HDD is clicking and whirring and apparently not in good health, more since I installed Windows XP with service pack 2 I can no longer hold my programs on the tiny 6 GB thing!

I was wondering if you wonderful people out there can help me by answering my questions:

    1. is there a limit on the size of the HARD drive that my ' 4320 Pro can take, if there is a limit (for example, 10 GB) so can I upgrade the BIOS to allow for a more generous size (say 40-80 GB)?

    2. is it difficult to remove the old HDD and then put the new? Has anyone else done this procedure before? Should I take my baby into pieces? I installed the new memory before and had no problem :), it was very easy it will be that easy?

    3. What is the depth of the original 6 gb 2.5 "HDD in my little girl? The replacement of all them seem to 9.5 mm deep will take a kind of foam spacer if for example my old HDD to 12 mm?

    4. Finally someone noticed problems once they have installed a new HDD on there Sat Pro?

Thank you in advanced for your wisdom.

    :)

    Hi Stu,

In response to your questions: -.

    1. most computers manufactured since the end of the 1990s can accommodate the larger discs, I found several supplies citing disks > 40 GB for your model. Any restrictions imposed by your BIOS could be corrected.

    2. remove the HARD drive is relatively simple and will generally involve nothing undo more than a few screws. Most hard disks are held in a caddy of some kinds and this will have to be transferred to your new drive. You must locate your current HARD drive (it must be under a Panel on the side or your laptop. Note that some models locate the HARD disk in the optical drive, so you may need to remove this first.

3 hard drives usually come in two sizes, 2.5 "and 3.5", this refers to the width of the player. the real depth is largely irrelevant, since it will be held in a caddy. You certainly should not wrap the reader with the foam.

    4. I replaced my drive HARD original with an 80 GB version. The process took less than 10 minutes, and then I just rebuilt my system from the product recovery discs before restoring my data on a backup CD.

Can someone tell me where to find the specs for the new HD tech so that I make sure that I have buy the right thing?
    Thanks in advance
    Yamil
    (Amsterdam)

According to specification for laptop, your laptop's SATA HDD inside. So everything you need to do is to buy a SATA HDD.
Theoretically, you can use more HARD drive capacity of 120 GB.
I have updated more older M70 with 250 GB SATA HDD and everything was OK.

So, check prices and buy new HARD drive. I recommend one with 200 GB. It should be enough, isn t it?
