LR5: time offset when importing photos - why?

Import my pictures from the camera with storage in folders by date. Now, I've discovered that photos taken before midnight are stored in the folder for the next day.

After a review, I found that the time displayed when you move the pictures in the import dialog are always displayed with an offset of + 2:00 for the real time (such as described in the camera) when the photo was taken. So all photos taken after 22:00 are stored in the folder for the next day.

My conclusion is that LR obviously takes the offset from the UTC time zone (in my case: THIS summer, which is UTC + 2) when importing photos. I remember having that first saw on travel in New Zealand last year when import photos on my PC that I had put to the local time zone on a trip, so this shift was 12 hours.

When viewing the photos later in the module library or development, the time is displayed correctly, so obviously drawn "like what" EXIF/XMP.

Is this a known issue? I could not find a place in the LR settings to control this behavior.

It is a very old bug, which has never been set. The simple solution is to import from a card reader, not a camera directly connected. The insect bites only during the import of the camera.

Image capture metadata must be perfectly OK, so no need to change anything here, it is only the name of the folder that is affected by the bug.

Once the files have been imported, can you please check their resolution from the 'Information' section on the right side, or "View file information" option on the right click context menu.

  • LR 4 and 4.1 can't create new folder manually when importing photos

    Windows 64, i7, 12 GB of RAM

I don't seem able to create a new folder manually when importing photos.  It still works fine on the same PC with LR3.6.  Anyone else seeing this?  Thank you.

    nonewfolder.jpg

Yes, I'm on Win7. I can get the result that you specify.  I right click on the folder name in LR and then choose "Create a new folder."  This shows the dialog box windows.  If I then right-click in the right pane and select new > folder, I get a new folder empty in the right pane and can type the name, then select this folder.  If, instead of click with the right button in the right pane, I try to type the name of the new folder in the bottom of the dialog box where it says "file:" then I get this error message. That's what I mean by saying that the process has changed slightly in the LR4.

  • Short life time when import photos?

Whenever I'm importing photos - JPEG or psd files, layers are imported as a term of 2 to 5 frames (very short).  Is there a way to change this or match to my composition?  I tried to change the preferences to import with no luck.  Or, what I have to do something on the side of Photoshop to extend the service or is the duration of my membership that is 30 seconds? It makes me crazy where I can't seem to find a solution.  I am currently using AE CS5.

You probably have the sequence option enabled in the import dialog box. Turn the power off.

  • Camera with GPS and Photos shows not all contact information when importing photos in pictures

I have a Nikon AW130 with active GPS. While previously using iPhotos he always imported the exact location when you import photos. I'm using pictures and nothing appears under location. We are on a cruise on our sailboat and spend 10 months foreign traveling or diving in remote locations, geotagging is important. And I'm not geotag pictures of thousands that we take in a season of navigation manually. The Internet is also either not always available or slow and costly iCloud is not always possible. So what is the solution? Thank you.

Photos will show the locations only, if the computer is connected to the internet after importing the photos. He needs a database of Apple connection to retrieve the names of places.  Pictures don't show latitude and longitude but a place name. If you have an internet connection, you should see a name of places and a small map in the Info Panel for photos.

We are on a cruise on our sailboat and spend 10 months foreign traveling or diving in remote locations, geotagging is important

Names of places in photos are not a great help in navigation.  Most of my photos of sailing is simply display "North Atlantic" or "Sea of Caribbean", such as the location, but the locations of the pins on the map are correct.  And if you export photos Tags the GPS will be integrated. Just, make sure that you enable empbed location information in the Photos of preferences > General.

You can check if the GPS has been applied by the camera, if you export Photos photos, open in preview. The Info Panel in preview (Tools > Inspector) will tell you the GPS coordinates.

  • Improve when importing photos

In the opening that you used to be able to apply-auto-enhance photos like they were imported.  This has saved be a job having to do it later.  I am also pleased with the results of her auto-améliorer in 99% of situations.  I have now taken pictures but I don't see a similar option on import - no one knows if it is available?  Also and if not possible when importing - y at - it a suite of choice a lot of pictures and then applying the setting to improve in bulk?

    Thanks in advance.

There is no automatic to apply when importing adjustment.

And you can't batch apply adjustment either. It is limited compared to the opening.

What you can do, however, is to adjust a photo you like.  Then copy ⇧⌘C and paste this setting for a different picture with ⇧⌘V

You must be in edit mode to be able to copy and paste adjustments.  But you can use the arrow keys to advance to the next photo, without leaving edit mode.

  • iPhone 6s disconnection when importing photos

Seems not to be the only one out there with this, but when I try and import pictures all applications (opening, Photos, Image Capture) I try and fail. I thought that the iPhone has disconnected itself. Image capture also gave me error code 9934 once. I ran disk utility and found no abnormality and it seems that others have a similar problem.

I wonder if it's something to do with too many pictures to import? I have about 234 to import. Perhaps a memory problem somewhere?

My phone connects to iTunes and disconnect here, even when it disconnects from the photo apps. I can connect using wifi with iTunes, but it does not work with the photo applications. At least I'm getting the same number of disconnection of the phone.

Try to think of another way to launch launch this - wait Apple fix and fix or try icloud pictures but that is not an a way to do it?

    Thank you

  • How to change the import settings when importing photos

Changing the settings to import photo with Windows 7

I want to change the import for my Canon camera settings when you import pictures using Windows 7.  I had already managed to do it once but to adjust settings again.  However, when I connect my camera to my PC, it starts automatically import photos based on the current settings with no option to change.  Please help - its driving me crazy!

Microsoft seems to be lame on answering machine bugs here and just standard information messages, which of course do not work.

A solution has been validated, in part, to david.gardiner.net.au/2010/02/changing-location-of-pictures-and.html. Maybe there is an easier way.

In the Windows registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Photo Acquisition

There are a number of subkeys. For example, there is a subkey "Camera and Portable device."

Return the next value of AcquisitionFlags to 0 x 82 in the registry key seems to restore the Import Wizard asking you to specify an optional tag and you click again on the link "Import settings":

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Photo Acquisition\Camera and Portable device

To make this change yourself, follow these steps (with the standard warning that change the incorrect Windows registry can completely ruin everything!):

    1. run regedit.exe
2 navigate in the tree of the registry to find the following subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Photo Acquisition\Camera and Portable device

    3. double-click on the value "AcquisitionFlags".
    4. Type "82".
    5. click "OK" and close the registry editor

I had to scan it for my Scanner in the category.

  • Unable to import photos, why?

Suddenly unable to import photos into LR on my mac. SanDisk of MDGS and Canon 5 d. RAW and JPG. I can see the thumbnails and fortunately, they are important in 'Photos '. I deleted the videos of the cards, but this made no difference. LR is up-to-date. The cards have been formatted. Very frustrating! This must be a problem of LR as everything else works fine.

    !@

Oh! I think that this is the solution! Weird, but I have not changed anything. I think it's the destination folder that is at fault.

    Thank you very much

  • Lightroom crash when importing photos from an SD card using iMac 5 K.  Tried several cards, tried to restart, same problem.

Since upgrading to LR 2015.2 my LR crashes each time I have import from SD card.  With the help of the new iMac, 16g memory.  Anyone have any ideas?

Claes, thank you.  I was getting ready to try your tips and an update to LR (2015.2.1).  I installed that and doesn't crash anymore.  Thanks again.

  • Lightroom CC2015 - why PC crash when importing photos in Raw format?

I used Lightroom CC 5 installed on my PC (Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit). Everything worked fine without any problem. After installing the new version of Lightroom 6 I had problems with unexpected stops of the PC.

    I took the following measures:

1 / the uninstall Lightroom CC2015-problem still remained.

    2 / the Lightroom 5 uninstalling and re-installing Lightroom CC2015 - problem still remain.

3 / the Lightroom CC2015 uninstall and remove all files associated with Lightroom

4 / re-installing Lightroom CC2015 and start to import the photos in JPEG format - worked fine and no problem occurred

5 / starting import Canon Raw format photo and PC crashed during construction to the top of the smart Collections. Repeated step and PC crashed again.

Otherwise no problem with laptop computer PC Elite / 8 GB / 64 Bit OS and NVIDIA Quadro FX 7800 M of RAM

What other measures do you propose to get rid of this problem?

you have any Application under the name of PC wizard 2015 installed on the computer, try to disable it or if it is possible can you delete it.

looking at the crash report, it seems that could cause the problem.

    Thank you

  • I have a problem with Lightroom 5.7 when importing photos using Apple OS 10.11.3 (El Capitan).

    Hello

I use Lightroom 5.7 well, but I can't import all of the photos because I installed El Capitan, 10.11.3 on my Apple computer OS version.  How can you help me please?  How can I get an update of my one-time purchase Lightroom?  I'm not using Lightroom CC

    Thank you

El Capitan has changed the permissions of the folder that you chose as your Destination in LR import window. Change the Destination or set the appropriate permissions on the drive/folder that you selected.

If you have selected an external drive as destination then it could also be that external hard drive is formatted in Windows NTFS format and El Capitan deleted the utility you had installed for OS X could write to disks formatted in Windows NTFS format. OS X can read NTFS formatted the drive, but it cannot write natively to them.

How do you keep Windows Live Photo Gallery to import the same image twice?

I've seen discussions that mention preview images and select the pictures that have not yet been imported.  Well, it's a solution, but there must be a better way.  I have thousands of photos, several I like to keep on the camera for one reason or another.  I want Windows to recognize which images have already been imported, is this possible?
