LRT224 Port forwarding of specific Port

Is it possible with this router to do port forwarding on a specific port to a pc?

I have a basic need:

Transfer the incoming request to WAN port 37777 to RDP port 3389 to the local server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

I try to do a formward configured like this:

Service: 37777 (custom)-37777

IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:3389

But I can't save this configuration (wghite page is displayed).

How can I access with RDP on my public IP address on a specific (not the standard 3389), the port of my business and be sent to a specific server?

for example: RDP at yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:37777 connects to the server local xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

So far, I can only access this server with rdp standard port on the public ip address.

Thank you

The LRT224 supports the translation of address of Port (PAT). With PAT, each computer on the LAN is translated at the same IP address, but with a different port number assignment.

  • VLAN support on WAN for LRT224 port

    Hello

I have a setup of FTTx in my place.  Endpoint GPON puts the IP data on a VLAN.  So I need to support VLAN on the WAN port that the LRT224 does not currently support.

In the specifications of the router, I saw that it supports VLANS and (wrongly) assumed that he will be on the WAN port as well.

Support is planned for him in a future close update firmware?  Otherwise I'll have to return it :-(.

Sorry, Linksys genius releases no information of the new features before their release in a firmware.

  • How can LRT224 and EA8500, I use them together?

I work at home and need to have a VPN configuration to access our servers.  My home network is already a linksys EA8500 with wireless support.  My House is wired the outlets that are CAT6 and I have several desktops using electrician and several wireless mobile devices.  I also have a switch Linksys 16/Gb port SE3016.

I want to be able to keep the wireless support and also to use the LRT224 for my VPN configuration.

Is this possible?  If so, can you someone let me know how to set up from out of the ISP modem?  Or perhaps point me to a document that describes in detail what to do?

I have the information to make the VPN settings to the servers of my work, but do not know how to integrate the LRT224 into the rest of my home network.

    Hints, links, popular procedures.

    Thank you, Rob.

You could use EA8500 as a wireless access point and connect one of its LAN ports to a LAN of LRT224 port. The LRT224 will be a WAN port, connect to your modem. This way the firewall/NAT running on port WAN of EA8500 is not used, and server DHCP of LRT224 is one that provides IP addresses for all devices in your network, including Wi-wired and wireless.

While you set up EA8500, it is advisable to configure a static IP address to the IP LAN of the EA8500, so that you can easily access the web interface of admininstraitve more late for things like changing the SSID (network name) or WPA2 preshared key (network passwords).

  • Setup of the w/r/t LRT224 of confusion

    Hi people,

I run a small SOHO and currently have two Internet service providers, but only have a physically connected to my network. When it breaks down, I swap the cable from my Internet service provider router 1 by one of the ISP router 2, and everything happens again, manually.

So, I bought a LRT224 and I had this plan of implementation, but I don't think it will work. My thoughts were:

    1. the value 1 router ISP 192.168.1.1 without dhcp, assign 192.168.1.2 to the DMZ

2 put ISP router 2 to 192.168.1.254, without dhcp, assign 192.168.1.2 to the DMZ

    3. set LRT224 on each WAN as static 192.168.1.2 with dhcp.

    4. devices to connect to LRT224

I keep the LRT224 within the internal networks of each ISP router and do not connect not not the WAN directly, so it will be a problem?

I think that if I had this work, he may not notice when 1 ISP fails.

I'm trying this approach because I do not know how to connect directly to the Wan.

Thanks for all the advice and help,

    Hi phreaq,

If you want to leave the LRT224 manage your ISP twice, you need to connect to each of your two ISP modems directly to both the LRT224 WAN ports. Each of the LRT224 WAN port can be configured for what type of settings of your ISP (dynamic, static, or PPPoE) needs.  If your two existing routers are wireless routers, you can then just cascading them (LAN WAN or LAN to LAN) port LAN LRT224 to use the wireless capability. The DMZ of the LRT224 port has a different function.

If your ISP already you provided with a modem/router with a default of 192.168.1.xx IP address, then simply change the local ip address of the LRT224 of 192.168.1.1 192.168.2.1 192.168.3.1, 10.10.10.1 172.16.1.1 or any intellectual property as long as it is not on the same IP address of your modem/router ISP range.

  • Instructions for managing macs w ARD on the internet (no static IP address)

Please excuse me if it's asked all the time, but I searched and can not find detailed instructions for this.

I need to manage more than one Mac, on connections to the internet, the devices will not be on the static IP, they will constantly be moving around.

All the videos I have found online seem to show how to connect and manage Macs on LANs w ARD.

    Details:

    ARD v3.8

    All Mac on El Capitan

    Very appreciated for any help!

This question is not particularly related to Apple Remote Desktop; for ARD.  This is a configuration of generic firewall and networking question, so good enough instructions for your specific firewall will work here, as long as the firewall can redirect ports - port TCP 5900, in this case - or if your particular firewall has a VPN - Firewall Server average range and high-end frequently - or if you can implement a VPN server behind your firewall and configure the firewall to forward the VPN protocols (different ports) and ports necessary for the particular VPN.

In general...  I would suggest three ways...   1: set up your firewall to port before port TCP 5900 to the client target.   Maybe TCP 5988.   Or set up a VPN server in your firewall and connect to that and use ARD via a VPN.    If you want to access more than one system on the target network, you will need to either use a range of ports to forward to specific systems behind your firewall and happens to be a problem with many customers - I don't know immediately off-hand if the ARD client allows even to select different target ports - or to set up and move to a VPN.    2: creation and configuration of the VPN server in the firewall allows access to all systems on your network target - a VPN connection makes your local system as it is directly connected to the target network.  3: If you have the VPN server running on a target system and accessible through the firewall port forwarding, this target system must always be available, and all VPN traffic is routed through this system.   It is more complex and can also be a bit difficult to set up.

If you directly expose ARD ports to the Internet via port forwarding, you'll want to either restrict the available source IP ports (to reduce the magnitude of the attackers), and you'll want to be very careful about passwords on target systems.   Ports of the ARD are detected very fluent, and several people and botnets will attempt to access the system password-baited; trying to guess the users and passwords on the target system.   Once attackers have a login and a password, they will then try to spread throughout the rest of the network.  (It's part of why I prefer to use virtual private networks).

Sierra of MacOS support PPTP VPN, so I wouldn't go with any configuration of VPN that you considered it.   I'd probably use L2TP/IPsec, because the customer is generally available in most of the other operating systems, Mac OS and iOS.

There is information available on the network ports used by Apple devices.   If you enable VPN port forwarding, there are discussions on the ports and protocols required to according to VPN you use posted around the ' net and not all firewalls is particularly good to port-forwarding, the protocols and ports VPN. "  Low-end older firewalls and firewalls tend to have problems here.

To locate on the networks of the target systems, you get to use dynamic DNS from client devices or other means to identify the public IP address that is associated with the target customer.   If customers are roaming on disparate networks and not simply roaming IP addresses on their private networks (these addresses can be fixed through DHCP configurations, too) and if you don't have access to intermediate firewalls, then you will probably have to rethink the entire approach, unfortunately.    Connection to mobile systems distance arbitrary is not especially it is possible, he must do something on the client that "tags" or "ad" its network metadata to your own server from tracking client or server monitoring of some other entity (for example messages to the DNS servers used by the dynamic DNS providers), or the management connection must be initiated from the client.    ARD does not support these mechanisms.   Discussions here can get pretty complex, too--in terms of network configuration, both in terms of security for the clients and servers.

There are a few related discussions this general topic in the forums. See here, here, here, here or here.

  • 4.0.4 Tranfer of extension unit does not

Call handler created with the extension and for standard hours configured to forward to a Subscriber no extension. Other disabled transfer.

When I call the call handler it will Manager wishes, even if the call forwarding settings Specifies not to go to wishes. I said yes, "sound to the Subscriber to this extension" and this setting does not take effect for hrs standard or closed. He always goes to the host Manager.

Removed and added the Manager with the new name, still the same issue. ContactRule.Extension specifies the correct setting for the standard rule.

OK - do not work what you do, it's not supposed to. If a call to the front by another extension directly into the unit, the unit will automatically ignore the rule of transfer on the Manager or the Subscriber and get right to the home. This prevents the window "transfer buckles" If a call forward and the unit try to call the phone that transmits etc. until all ports are chewed and dirt hit system.

You can get around this by making the different a couple things I talk about in the paper 'the audio text in the unit applications' on the Documents page of the site http://www.CiscoUnityTools.com . It is just the channel manager a 2nd - the flag of the 'transfer of skip rule"is used only for the first Manager/Subscriber the call strike in unity, after that she will make the transfer on the next Manager to what happens. That's how I'd do. You can also have blank greeting on the Manager and the welcome message after action defined for 'attempt to transfer' for himself. It's a little more dangerous but it only invovles a Manager. I would use two handlers for it, however...

  • Best Soho - Split Tunnel VPN router

Hi - I'm looking for some advice for a soho router.

Basically the main feature, I'm looking for is to run, which I think is a VPN split tunnel, so that all internal clients route default traffic out to the gateway of the ISP. However, if the traffic is destined for a list of several specific subnets (x.x.x.x/24, y.y.y.y/24 etc.), then it should establish a tunnel to an only PPTP/IPSEC host and route remote traffic for these subnets via the tunnel.   To be clear, that these subnets (x.x.x.x and y.y.y.y) is not attached to the end of the tunnel - which is a gateway device that will route them further.

I've been watching the various VPN router offers and is not clear to me if I can do it with a RV - 042, BEFVP41 or something like the other thing SRP521W I must be able to manipulate the routing tables directly on.

As an additional note, I have complete control over the end of SOHO - but simply an account at the end of the tunnel with (it is a service provider).  The idea is to use public services for 90% of the traffic, but if customers want to access a specific set of addresses, it will forward this specific traffic through the tunnel.

    Thanks in advance...

On current view, do not touch the RPS with a bargepole.

Adding access to additional subnets through a VPN tunnel is pretty standard, routing will be automatic if the VPN was established, but you must ensure that

    1. politics VPN at BOTH ENDS allows your local subnet to access these networks

    2. your subnet is not incompatible with other subnets or roads that can be used on remote networks

    3. assuming you're OK so far, remote subnets must have a route is added to the default gateway to point to your subnet via intermediate networks

    Good luck!

  • Implementation of IPSec Port Forwarding on a Windows 2012 with a LRT224 Server

Hi all I hope someone can help me validate my troubleshooting. I'm deploying a Server Windows 2012 that will server as a server vpn for customers. In place is a LRT224 with 4 VLANS set up. I have enabled port forwarding for IPSec (UDP/500), L2TP (UDP/1701) and L2TP (UDP/4500) to go on the server.

In my Initial test, I put the LRT224 on the same network as the client of my test and realized the Test Client (10 Windows) to try to connect to the WAN of the LRT224 interface. I get this message:

Thinking it could be the configuration of the server, I then put the client system on the same vlan on the LRT224 server. When I tried to connect to it directly by using the IP address of the server as a destination, he succeeded.  It is leading me to believe that it is the LRT224.

I confirmed that VPN passthrough is enabled.

The firmware version is by: v1.0.5.03 (February 22, 2016 10:12:17)

Currently, the firewall is disabled (I would activate once I'm working)

If anyone has ideas or notice a fault in my tests, I would really appreciate the feedback.

If additional information would be useful, please let me know what you want and I can work for it.

    Thanks to all in advance.

It does normally not as I KNOW because the VPN in an outside in the process. You should test the VPN connection outside the server's IP subnet.

  • LRT224 - Dual WAN port forwarding

Can you move forward say port 80 1 Wan IP and port 80 from WAN 2 to a different IP address. ?

Also can you somehow choose TCP & UDP rather large only one or the other?

I just replaced 2 routers with LRT 214 and LRT 224 TPLink its all works well. Except port forwarding

With LRT224, a port forwarding rule is applied to the two WAN ports and two rules are necessary if you want to ship to TCP and UDP to the same internal IP address.

  • Unable to get the port forwarding on LRT224

    Hello

Can anyone help with setting the port forwarding on a LRT224 - he drives me crazy!

I have a mail server running on the internal network listening on port 443 using SSL. I want to expose it to the internet on port 450

I tried to configure the following Port Address Translation entries:

TCP: 450 an external Port internal Port: 443 host LAN:

UDP: 450 an external Port internal Port: 443 host LAN:

    The two rules are enabled.

I have not setup additional access rules, since I realized that the Port Address Translation is circumventing them.

The setting "Block WAN request" on the firewall is disabled.

Result - NOTHING! No link, no ports open (verified with ShieldsUp!)

FYI - the LRT224 was purchased to replace 2 DD-WRT-flashed routers, each connected to a different ISP - 1 want to automate failover rather that physically Exchange connections of my passage to the routers.

On the other hand, the requirement for transmission of port above took 5 minutes to the configuration via DD - WRT and worked as required from the beginning.

I spent 2 days playing with the LRT224 and have no configuration work.

It is a basic feature! Why is it so hard to make it work?

    All help gratefully received...

    Hi Chad,

Just to say thank you to help get that job!

To confirm, the resolution for anyone interested:

The configuration of Port Address Translation was correct, but the internal server that was targeted had bad default gateway on its network card (it was targeting my other router), which meant that he was not talking to the LRT224, which means that the latter did not open the ports connected to the Internet.

  • NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Firewall SRXN3205 and port forwarding?

Hi, this is a long shot, but I'm pulling my hair out at this point and can be a bit over my head, as I am new on network

Small short story, I have two servers, one is the NAS box (IE if I connect via the internet to the site via public IP network from home, I get it that site says 'my actions' I insert login and pass and get access to them.)
    That is, everything is peachy.
The problem is when I try to connect to my FileMaker Server I'm not and instead, he takes me to the login NAS box. So I think ok, I need to port forward (5003 for filemaker) to go to different PC local LAN(192. etc)

Security > firewall > Add Service entering:
    Service: fmserver
    Action: Always leave
Send to LAN Server: unique address 192. etc is filemaker installed on (and different on a NAS)
    Definition of Port number: 5003<-- is="" this="" right?="" how="" else="" would="" you="" indicate="" you="" want="" all="" connections="" on="" this="" port="" to="" go="" to="" this="" specific="" lan="" machine="" from="" internet="" instead="" of="" default="" which="" seems="" to="" be="">
rest is default, I click on apply.

Here's what I don't understand. In the table of incoming Services, (security > firewall) I have two local IP in the list, a SIN, the other for Filemaker. But only the top works and can be connected to. I can move every top position and it will work, but they will not work at the same time, just the one that sits on the top of the sad Smiley page

and yes I read the manual again and again and don't know how I'm screwing up the port forwarding on this point, even if I am brand new to probably something stupid Smiley Happy (our work IT guy is gone so tried to get involved through this somehow)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello sinieq,

There is a hierarchy on incoming service table, which is normal. I see 4 services added using "ANY" (ALL use any port number) you will need to remove/disable these because of the rule of the hierarchy on the table, all other services will be ignored when EVERYTHING is used. What is the port number used by the NAS Server? I don't see a port defined to access NAS. Try disabling services by using "ANY" and try again by adding the translation to the port number of the NAS.

    Let us know what happens.

    Thank you

  • Connection to Ports transferred to a LRT224 of the internet

Having just Port Forwarding working on my LRT224 (thanks Chad!), I have the following questions:

All transferred ports will be visible on the WAN IPs?

example: forwarded Port 550, IPs WAN; IP1.com and Ip2.com - connections are possible on EACH Ip2.com:550 or Ip1.com:550

If the answer to the first question is 'yes', then can the LRT224, the active support of concurrent connections, i.e. the TWO Ip1.com:550 AND Ip2.com:550?

I currently have the WAN configuration in failover mode, however, I would like to know if the WAN2 (Ip2.com:550) connection would be available when the router did not breach the wire, i.e. normal running.

    autodrivel wrote:

    Hi Chad,

After reading your reply and in turn, then read the user's Guide, let me clarify my original question.

The LRT224 is currently setup in failover mode of connection with WAN1 as the primary WAN.

Reading the manual (and your response); in normal operation, only the connections that are made to WAN1 will succeed, my initial example, that means only incoming connections to Ip1.com:550 will succeed, incoming connections to Ip2.com:550 will fail.

When failover mode, the reverse will be true;  only incoming connections to Ip2.com:550 will succeed, incoming connections to Ip1.com:550 fails.

The above assumption is correct? Yes

Question, when the installer in failover mode and function normally (i.e. all traffic directed by WAN1), is it possible to explicitly road some thorough traffic WAN2 using, for example, static routing rules OR not Mode failover blocks all access to the WAN backup, except to failover? WAN2 is completely disabled until failover

Reviewing the configuration of the load balancing.

Your response the following assumptions are correct:

If all the connections to the forwarded port lights WAN1, I need to configure the appropriate binding protocol to ensure that all responses sent off WAN1 - Correct? Yes

In a situation where WAN1 is down and the traffic is received on WAN2 only protocol links above would prevent a connection to the transferred via WAN2 port to function properly, or the LRT would ignore the links if it knows that the WAN1 is down? I have not tested this scenario but I guess that the binding of the Protocol would be ignored with WAN1 downwards. Worst case you will need to temporarily disable the protocol binding rules.

If the answer to the question above is "the connection would fail", then I must activate an appropriate set of links to WAN2 Protocol not simply disable the existing ones would be sufficient if necessary.

Thanks for your help with these queries

  • E4200 Port forwarding

I would like to open a couple of ports in an E4200.

The only option I can find is in the game.  Can I port before a single port as 3389 to a system on the local network, and it works.

The problem is that port 3389 is open on the world now since I can't find a way to only allow traffic on port 3389 from a specific static ip address.

It is a big security problem for me.  I want only the traffic on port 3389 of specific static.

I also noticed that you can't say different two before port 1433 from a static IP address.

I hope that LInksys has a way to do it, or it's really a porrly even designed device for residential users

You can not normally port forward to two or more IP addresses. I've heard some router but can it would be an effect of Robin.

Yes with the firmware on this router Linksys is impossible to specify an external IP address in the port rule forwards. You can change the external port to something, no standard as 10001 and have internal port 3389. The specify the port and the Address\DNS IP in the computer text box office remotely. Ex: my - distance - ip:10001

This will only cause confusion, but perhaps that's pretty and your server security settings is always the final measure.
