  After the upgrade to El Capitan (10.11.2), my Fast Track Ultra no longer functions as an audio input/output device.  Re-installation of the drivers is not good.   I have a recurring issue.

  I installed an external audio workshop (M - AUDIO FAST TRACK PRO) and soon as I did it (immediately), a pop-up message kept appearing at startup with the caption "Cannot ACCESS VOLUME CONTROL".

  And now I can not access my volume control, of course and can not see any card available for use.
  I saw all the forums on this problem and it seems a repetitive problem on computers laptop toshiba.
  I know my way around and have re installed and uninstalled the two drivers from the sound card.

  I also tried the trick of Sndvol32.exe with no luck. I can't keep reinstalling the OS whenever this happens.

  Someone at - it a real answer to this question?

  However, to get to know the real cause of the problem can you give us the application log generated in the event viewer.

  a. go to the home screen. Type in the event viewer.

  (b) this will bring up the box of event viewer. Click to open event viewer.

  (c) in the left pane, expand Windowslogs.

  d. click the application log. Select the first event in the log, and then use the arrow keys to scroll down. Most of your event will be information. You can see red yellow warnings or errors. If you see a red error, you can double-click on it to bring it and copy the contents into a document.

  I have my doubts that the (10.11.5) software is the problem.  Are you sure that the DVD player is simply not defective?  Have you tried to clean the lens?  What is the State of the disc?

  Your best option may be a date at a bar in engineering of the Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

  Tethered shooting works fine with Lightroom 6.4 on El Capitan.

  You can then go ahead and buy Lightroom and perform the tethered shooting.

  I started to edit a music video the other day after collection of images and its import. Everything was good, audio and video has worked... Opened yesterday and when I fly over my clips and audio sequences, it doesn't seem to work (but works fine in the event browser). The video appears as a black screen and audio, well, does not work! I checked the project in the Finder and all original media seems to be there, and the opening using QuickTime/iTunes, it works! My speakers are fully functional and I tried the reassociation and re - import files, but still doesn't seem to work! The impression that I have tried everything I can. (Software is up-to-date also).

  You can have corrupt files made.

  Select your project in the Explorer and do file-> remove project files generated. Choose to delete all of the rendering.

  Uninstall your current audio driver, restart your system and then install it and let me know if that solves the problem.
