M252DW: M252DW toner leak

The cyan toner cartridge is leaking that comes and goes.  It causes a 2 "x 3" smear centered about 2' from the top of the page. "  It looks like a cloud of rain - heavy top, then descending to sprinkles down.  This is the second time that this has happened.  It cleared on its own after several dozen pages, the first time.  I do not trust to not get worse.  This is an HP-certified, not a knock-off replacement cartridge.

Toner cartridges leaking are defective toner cartridges, you must contact your vendor or hp and ask for a replacement because the cartridge is guaranteed until you end up with a low toner message on the printer.

No amount of cleaning will stop a leak, it's little like when a water pipe leaks and you keep drying up, but no more water comes out, it might seem good for a while but there is a problem.

    Hello

I have a LJ5500 which seems to have a weird problem. When I print the configuration page, the bars cyan on the left side and the bottom of the page look bad, and darker yellow shades on the left side and down look orange.

Look under a magnifier / microscope, cyan on the left side and bottom bars contain a lot of yellow (and it's more than the points of ID yellow printer), giving a tint cyan greenish kindof. Shades of cyan contain a little majenta and or yellow depending on which square of density is. The yellow shade darker contains also some majenta that gives him the look orange. When I say "contains little yellow / majenta', I mean under the microscope, they are clear all the points on a regular grid - that is intentionally put there by the printer, like not random toner leaking or something."

Is this normal? Should shades on the configuration page be pure colors? Is there a way to fix this? I tried to reset the default settings and firmware upgrade (he already had the latest version on this subject, I just downloaded again). I also cleaned the comb of the discharge of static electricity and out of the device for detecting color registration and checked that the lenses are clean. It's as if someone uploaded a correction wrong color profile in the printer or something.

When you print the demo page, it looks perfect, but when you print simple vector graphics with areas of solid color, the blue and green certainly do match any colors of the screen and are always more dark I think they should be.

It does not seem that something is wrong with the printer. Run the menu plan just to see if someone messed with the color on the printer settings as there should be something under the print quality menu and it should reflect all zeros. Your problem could be the driver that you are using. Retrieve the default printer is to reset the cold that will put everything in return user settings to the factory settings and will do a calibration on reboot.

  • M252DW: Purple Zebra printing

I recently bought a LaserJet M252DW (of course a little over 30 days so that I can't return it...), but whenever I print, the first 2-3 pages always have a band discolored towards the bottom of the right side. Pages more than print, the color goes to normal.

The color will be back after a few moments of downtime. It seems compatible with whatever of the right part of the impression is, no matter where it is on the page.

If I have something that is 1/2 page to print, there is approximately a stripe 1 "that's wide color down the entire page... If I print something full page, its about 2 "down all right of the page.

I really could use any help how to solve this problem.

If it is magenta, a toner cartridge if it is purple, it would become more than one cartridge.

  • color laserjet pro m252dw: How do to return/difficulty recent update of firmware for hp color laserjet pro m252dw as now does not

My printer color laserjet (color laserjet pro m252dw) no longer works due to not recognize a black cartridge to third because of a recent update of the firmware. Error given is 'Supply memory error'.

I already looked to the top of the page of Software Support for this printer, but new and recent firmware update is not released/listed, only the firmware upgrade market is given.

I'd appreciate advice and instructions on how to return/repair my printer no longer print.

Can you please advise on which firmware update to install instead to get my printer back in the order of operation?

    Thank you very much

    Geertje

PS: HP: how VERY boring; next time that I'm in the market for a printer I have will conduct the review of my options

According to the other thread that I have commented on the user managed to solve the problem of roll back firmware version 20160331 to 20150716 .  Unfortunetly the user did not comment if the old version of firmware is out so that we can share a simlilar solution.  It may be that this person had a copy archived in offline mode or found another source outside the HP support Web site.

At least you can get an older version of firmware all the steps that we share for the firmware downgrade won't do you no good.  I'd be careful to search a German site for firmware updates.  HP has put regional locks in place according to international contracts, that they do to market their products in a given region.  Using a German firmware on a printer WE made may have strange side effects on what types of cartridges are allowed.

What is perhaps a better use of your time would be to contact your 3rd party cartridge company and see if they can send you a cartridge that is compatible with the new firmware.  Chances are that they have seen the same problem with other users and already have a chipset to work around the problem.  In this way, you can stay on the newest firmware and continue to use your favorite too cartridges.

  • HP LaserJet M252dw: Airprint works only not on HP LaserJet M252dw

We have a HP Color Laserjet M252DW in our business that we intend to use Airprint for printing from our Mac machines, but we cannot make it work.

We use a Cisco wireless with a 2500 WLC. We have configured mDNS and are able to see other printers, but not the M232DW.

What we have tried so far:

    > Search for the firmware updated (not available)

    > Reset the printer and reconfigure

    > Use the static and DHCP IP addresses

    > Restart the printer, WLC and Mac devices

The printer is connected to the same network wireless as users. As I said, Airprint works on other printers, it works just not on this one.

Any ideas of what I may be missing or what I can try?

    Hello

I got to work. But only after I reset the default printer and it reconfigured.

I needed to configure mDNS on Cisco WLC, then after I reset and reconfigure the printer, it took a little time to see the recording on the WLC and for Apple devices pick up (about 5-10 minutes).

It took that long only for this particular model because the other HP printers have been detected immediately, but those are wired, however.

To accomplish the same thing for devices Meraki see the following link.

    https://documentation.Meraki.com/Mr/Other_Topics/Configuring_Bonjour_Forwarding_for_the_MR_Access_Points

Let us know if that helps. Just know you may need to reset your default printer, reconfigure, then wait a while.

Make sure the printer driver is correctly selected for the media size, the type of paper and the plateau. You can find more information of the printer on page 40, manuals, of Laserjet M252dw. You will also find documentation on loading trays.

When you print from the main tray, remove the paper and simply load the paper 4 x 6.

  • LaserJet Pro M252dw: LaserJet Pro M252dw close

When the printer stops time to 'Shut Down after inactivity' expires (at the title of energy savings), must print a job to wake up the printer or should it be awakened by pressing the power button.

    Hi @Mazman,

Thank you to arrive on the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you would like to know why you are unable to print when you "Shut Down after" selected on your HP LaserJet Pro M252dw Color printer. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

If you want to be able to print to the printer without having to turn on the printer, do not use the Shut Down mode after, the printer is off.

I recommend using the mode "Sleep/Auto Off after" instead, that from the printer just goes to sleep, rather than close.

I hope this helps. Please respond if you have any questions. I wish you a nice day!

  • LaserJet Pro M252dw: Paper heavy weight causes ghositng

Our M252dw printer has ghosting (light versions of the printed item) each time we use card stock or labels. The same element of printing on plain paper shows no ghost image. Is there a way to adjust to big stock on this printer or another way to stop the remanence? The user must be able to print on thick, and I do not think that it exceeds the upper limit that I saw mentioned in some of the answers in the forum. If there is no way to adjust for thicker paper is a different model that will allow the adjustment of thicker stock?

  • Laserjetpro m252dw: printer says network cable unplugged when plugged into a wall outlet

My printer worked fine and all of a sudden, he is no longer prints and the display shows: "network cable unplugged".

I turned off the printer, it is plugged. Does the same thing for the modem and the router. The problem is not resolved. Help, please

    Hi @Kajosil,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to print because of this "unplugged network cable" error message on your HP LaserJet Pro M252dw Color printer. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

It seems that the printer does not have enough power to work properly, or there is a problem with the cable/port.

    • Please click here to update the firmware of the printer.

Make sure that the ethernet cable is connected to the appropriate port on the back of the printer.
See the section: 'Return product view' in the user manual for more information.

    • Have you tried another port on the router?
    • Have you tried another ethernet cable?
    • Check if the cable is damaged or deformed.

If the problem persists, I would like to do a hard reset and electric drain to see if this will solve the problem.

    • To eliminate other causes, unplug the USB cable or telephone (fax) for the test so attached.
    1. Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    2. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electric load and then release the power button.
    3. Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector).
    5. Try another outlet to power/room.
    6. Try a different compatible power cable.

If the problem persists, I would try resetting the NVRAM. This will outline the printer back to the default settings. The network must be configured again. I can send you this information in a private message. In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

I hope this information is useful. Please reply to this message with the results. Good luck!

  • HP color laserjet M252dw: trying to print envelopes

Have a new 252dw. Does not correctly print size envelopes. Prints gibberish? CCM, $JcC... across from the end of the envelope.

    Hello @mcrep,

Thank you for showing your interest in the HP Forums! I see that you have problems printing of envelopes, they come out with truncated text. I want to help you.

Here is a document to double check all the parameters of the print driver when printing envelopes (OS X).

I checked the website and couldn't find the Full CV drivers for this model featured with 10.11. We can check to see what drivers are installed for the printer.

Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences.

Click on Printers & Scanners, highlight the name of the printer on the left side and right side of the screen it should show the name of the printer. (Laserjet M252dw)

If the full name of the printer is not correctly, delete and add the printer name back from the list. Click on the sign - to remove the driver and then click on the + sign to add the driver might have to drop-down list to select the name of the printer to add a click.

Let me know how was the name of the printer.

You will have to perhaps download and install the HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers.

Can you print correctly from other applications?

What application you use to print envelopes?

If you're still having problems, please give the steps you have taken and the results, so I can help you more quickly.

I would like to know if these measures worked for you. You can select the 'accept as Solution' and the 'Thumbs Up' buttons, which will help us and others see that we have the answers! Good luck!

  • Color Laserjet pro m252dw: print off center

My printer prints slightly biased (as too far to the right). I did the alignment test and tried to solve the problem by adjusting printing to several mm to the left, but it does not work. I am trying to print labels with graphics that contain a border of circle-because the page is printing off center seem no good labels. I print on sticker paper for labels and have used several different programs label to print from, and all have the same resulf of centred off the coast. Any suggestions? Help would be very appreciated!

    Hey @OldSoulA,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have a problem of quality when printing labels from your computer Windows 8.1 to your HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw. I would like to help you today with this problem of printing the label. Thank you for all the troubleshooting steps you tried before reaching out for support. At this point, I'm going to make sure that the labels that you are printing on conform to the specifications of your HP Laserjet Printer. Once you confirm that the labels you are using are supported, we will miss some tests in order to check if this central issue is caused by the type of paper or a problem of setting. Please follow the steps below.

    Step 1: Check paper:

According to the specifications of your HP Laserjet Printer, the following labels are supported:

    • You can load up to 50 sheets of labels into the tray at 1 time. Do not exceed 50 sheets
    • Avoid mixing media into the tray with paper. Avoid labels on top of plain white paper in your loading tray
    • Avoid using labels that are separated from the backing sheet, wrinkled or damaged in any way
    • Do not use labels that have exposed the carrier sheet
    • Do power not more than once a sheet of labels into the printer
    • Avoid printing on both sides of the labels
    • Avoid printing on sheets which the labels have been removed
    • Make sure that you use the specific Laser as adhesive labels can damage internal components in your machine.

Once you have confirmed that the paper of the label that you are using is meet the specifications of your printer can you please move to the next step.

    Step 2: Print Self Test:

    1. Load of the plain white paper in your paper tray
    2. On the front panel of your printer then drag your finger to the left and select configuration
    3. Under the menu Setup touch Service
    4. Tap the cleaning Page
    5. Print a cleaning Page now. This page should show the colored lines centered

Check the alignment of the present report.

    • The colored lines appear centered?
    • Printing documents from your computer on plain white paper print centered?

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting so far. Once I have the results of your troubleshooting with the answers to my questions above, I'll be more than happy to provide additional assistance for this problem. I look forward to hear from you!
