• Color laserjet - printing even if a cartridge is low color strength?

  Have a color laserjet (CM1415fnw) multifunciton. I get the warning that my Cyan cartridge is low and must be replaced. I get this message for some time, but yesterday the printer "decided" that it would be only print in black. I'm assuming that the firmware of the printer forces black only print when a color cartridge is too weak to "notice" the printer. Is there a way to defeat/override it?

  I have the same problem as any computer, I use so I don't think it's a driver or configuration problem. I tried to adjust the warning on the printer at 5% level, but that did not help. I don't change anything else in the printer menu. Is there a setting that forces black (grey levels) that printing on the printer. Maybe somehow he has set wrong? I have disabled the function of levels of grey in my computers to the printer driver is configured to print in color.

  I do very little color printing and I really don't like if the colors are not "perfect". Also, I'm the 'warning - replace cartridge' on my black cartridge for about two months before the print quality has declined to the point that I needed to replace the black cartridge. In other words, the 'warning' seems premature. I'm sure that it allows to sell HP cartridges, but it would be nice if the printer let me decide when to replace and not forcing me to black printing only.

  Finally, I tried turning the printer and the computer power. Also, I took the cartridges, shook the and them reinserted. It did not help. The printer refuses to print in color.

  Looked in the manual for your machine and haven't seen a thing to help. I suspect, like most printers that print in color, your model must all have cartridges in and properly functioning seized wil even attempt to print. (There are a few inkjet printers which print mode "backup", using one of the two cartridges).

  Page 21 (see page 20 - system configuration Menu) there is an element called "very low." Go to "Color cartridges" and set this item to "Continue". Forces of printing color no matter how little the cartridges. (The system default is 'Black Print' which I'm sure that HP help sell more cartridges color long before they needed to be replaced.)

  This saved me at least a few hundred dollars in the purchase of new color cartridges until I really need them! Thank you very much.

  Hi threre, I just work on HP CP1518ni a client with this same alignment problem as most of you are describing. I went through some process and I think I found one that works... If all goes well it will work for

  Things I tried before hand... also this machine has all the toners brand HP 90 + life on each of them.

  -Calibrate - has not fixed the problem (tried once)

  -reset the NVRAM - did not problem

  -removed and inspected print cartrides (no problem found), re-installed - fixed no problem

  The 'fix '...

  First, go to the HP website and download the firmware, make sure you only select the right operating system

  you are using. (for me it was Windows XP) Also the requirements of course read, I think you have to

  have with XP SP2 if it perhaps questions, always read the instructions before doing the firmware.

  Looks like Yes, you remove normal documents. I ran a few tests on my printer ready 7640 want and he knows the size of the photo paper, that I put (from the screen of the printer), but ONLY 4 x 6 prints.

  Hello.  Have a HP Photosmart Plus B210a.  I just intalled the printer on my computer and it will not print pictures on paper in the photo tray.  I have good info paper game and the only time where he printed the photo paper is when the HP technical support sent a test photo to the email address of the printer.  My OS is Windows 7 Home premium 64B.  The connection of the printer is wireless.   I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software already and still nothing.  Any help is appreciated as sucks online support and phone buddies hard to get on the line!

  I ended up returning the printer Staples because I had a friend to come and take a look and we discovered that one of the rollers on the side right wasn't in the right place because the paper would be stuck and twisting.   From the Toolbox HP apparently is not supported by Win 7, is it possible to know what is the level of ink (toner in the color laser printer) to any given me?  Is there something in the present or future development plans of HP to cover that gap?

  The contact of my CP1518ni printer e-label reader apparently malfunctioned, and "replace supplies" is very reliable as an indicator of low level.

  Is your printer is connected to the network? If this isn't the case, please do so and get its IP address from the printer control panel. Type the IP address in your web browser such as IE.  You can find the info of the ink from there.

• Printing on Photo paper with black ink cartridge - J6480 - grayscale does not work

  The color radio button to use the black cartridge is grayed out if you choose to print in grayscale. If the color cartridge is empty, you cannot print in grayscale on photo paper. It allows you to print in grayscale on plain paper.

  Well Yes, that's right.  The ink in the black cartridge is an ink pigment (about particles of carbon suspended in the solution) and cannot be absorbed by the photo paper.  The ink in the color cartridge is dye based (like dye food) and is absorbed by the coating on photo paper.  That is why all the printing with black cartridge is denied when using photo paper.

  Pigmented ink is used in the black cartridge to produce the beautiful crisp text on plain paper.  There are HP printers with cartridges 'Photo Black' which are ink to dye black which can be used on photo paper.  These printers also have a black text in another cartridge which is a pigmented ink.

  I have a HP 7510 all-in-one printer running Windows 7 64 bit.  I ran all the diagnostic tests offered by HP.  Recently, when I try to print photos or graphics and then select Photo paper or paper of presentation I get a very bad impression - color is faded and is not clear.  If I select plain paper it works fine however I don't think I get a picture quality which is what I use the printer for most.  In other words I can't print in the 'better' quality.   I updated the driver, clean the heads, etc.  All of the suggestions.  I bought the printer last summer so its not yet old.

  Be sure and check the ink levels and replace any weak inks.  It is also important to select photo paper on your computer which is as close as possible to your real photo paper. The quality of the printed photo can also be strongly affected by the quality of photo paper.  Differences in paper can make a big difference.   You could experiment with different settings and verify their results.

  That can certainly create a problem. The photo black is made a little different than the standard black, giving it a better penetration and quality in photos the sustainable standard black did. If you make a photo printing, the printer will always try to use the black photo cartridge above the ordinary. The colors do not have this problem because they are made with a dye which has this deeper penetration as well, so it translates better than black only.

• Portable printer OOfficejet 100 - will not be printed on photo paper loaded

  I have a brand new printer Officejet 100 (just out of the box today) and I am trying to print photos from my Canon Rebel T5, which is connected by usb to the printer.

  I loaded the plain printer paper in the tray and the pictures printed without problem. When I try the same steps with the matte photo paper, the printer is flashing with an error of paper, and the camera screen says no paper is located.

  Photo paper I use is the mark Staples, 8-1/2 x 11 inches and 230 g/m (61lb), which weighs less than the recommended 250 g/m2 (66 lb) on the site of hp - http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02623030

  This printer works only with HP photo paper, or have I missed a step somewhere along the way?

  I'm sorry to hear that the update of the firmware is also a failure for you. Make sure that you have not any "paper" or "paper jam" message on the screen when you try to send the firmware. If all goes well on the printer when you try to send the firmware, it sounds like something may be altered in your printers of programming.

  At this point, I will send you a private message with a special printer resets in it. I suggest that you check your private messages and cross the reset, I'll provide you with. After you run the reset don't forget to display the result of zeroing in this thread and not in the private message that our troubleshooting steps may be useful to other users of the Forums of HP's Support.
