M40-277: the laptop is very slow, during the writing of CD/DVD

Hello

I have a problem with my DVD writer. When I try to write a CD or DVD with my laptop, my laptop is very slow, I can barely move my mousepointer and my buffer State maintains have failed (see screenshots). Even when I try to play a CD or DVD it slows down my laptop. I don't know what the problem is. Can someone help me?

I have this laptop: "Satellite M40-277" with the DVD-RAM UJ - 841S.

Thank you.

Hi Gianni,

I use Nero to burn DVDs, and one of the configurable options is the task of "priority". If I set it to 'high' then my phone behaves as you described, that is very slowly. Check if you have you encode/burn too high task priority.

Kind regards

recently purchased a samsung NX30 camera which came with lightroom 5, after several hours of searching on Google I got it setup properly with the right camera raw to be able to access my raw images. I found that my old laptop is very slow during the processing of hundreds of images that I usually take on a weekly basis.  I bought a new faster laptop, but when I looked for the cd with the software of series and I couldn't find in the mess of Christmas.  I downloaded a trial version of lightroom and got, it works on my new laptop. Is there a way to access the serial number of my version already installed and insert it in the version of track to make it work for me?

    Myron

If you take the time to register to your original with Adobe installation (which most people do not), you can log in to your Adobe account and get the serial number. If you use a Windows computer and still have access to the old computer where Lightroom is installed, you can do the following:

    1. in the window folder options, make sure that you are able to see hidden folders.

    2. go to the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Lightroom folder.

    3. use Notepad to open the file, Lightroom 5.0 Registration.lrreg

You will be able to retrieve your serial number of this file.

    Hello

1 have had any changes made to your computer before this problem?

    2. what version of Windows are you using?

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: SFC scan run on the computer to ensure that the system files are intact:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Method 2:

    a. go to the Media Player.

    b. in the menu-> file-> manage libraries-> select each library (music, video, photos, TV recorded (if you have)

    c. check the paths that he manages and make sure it is not too near the root of the C: drive.  For example, it should be something like c:\users\Jim\Music and c:\users\Public\Music BUT NOT c:\users because they will cause the whole directory to re tree - index over and over (when you surf the web, or change files in your profile).

  • Laptop is very slow with two sequences of black screen.

    Hello world

My Acer Aspire 5552 G Win 7 SP1 (64-bit) laptop has been extremely slow starts lately and I think I know what the problem is just not how to fix it.

A little backstory. Recently, my computer has been infected by a trojan. The incident occurred three weeks ago (26 December) when I was sent a link (which supposedly contained a picture of trade offers) on Steam which directed me to download a file (.scr). I downloaded but he was suspicious of being (.scr) file extension. So I scanned with my antivirus (Kaspersky Internet Security 2015) and it has not found anything. (I should also mention that when you click on the link to access the site Kaspersky also has not blocked the site either).

I stupidly executed the file (I have the permit after UAC) and the Trojan horse went to work. My Steam profile all my friends malicious links sent to the same link of that initially, I downloaded the Trojan horse. She also sent the commercial offers of my Steam account.

After having read what made the Trojan horse, I immediately rebooted my computer in safe mode and performed a full scan with Kaspersky. In conclusion scans Kaspersky detected a piece of malware, a Trojan horse - Ransom.Win32.Blocker.gbqs. I was very worried at this point because I didn't want my hard drive becomes encrypted. Kaspersky was able to remove the Trojan horse.

I restarted my computer in normal mode and everything seemed fine. However, I was paranoid that Kaspersky may have missed other malicious programs. So I downloaded and installed AVG, Malwarebytes, Spyhunter 4 and McAfee Scan Plus. All of these additional programs never detected any virus or Trojan horses (although Spyhunter 4 detected many internet trackers).

So I uninstalled these additional programs and now I just Kaspersky. It's been three weeks constantly restart my PC and so far I have access to all my files and disks, so it looked like Kaspersky has successfully eliminated this ransomware.

Now to my problem actually is (as indicated in the title). My laptop undergoes two sequences of black screen.  One is after the windows logo start (approximately 45 seconds) and after the Welcome screen (which is about 5 minutes).

It's very annoying. Before all this started my laptop took only about 45 seconds of the power on button office ready.

    I appreciate any help, thanks.

    Hello

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

If please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop. Double click on it, select list installed programs and click OK. A journal is open, please send the contents of it in your response.

Download CCleaner from here. Once installed, open it and head over to the Tools tab, and then select start. In the lower right corner, select Save in the text file and select a name for it. Open the saved document and display its content in your next reply.

  • My laptop is very slow

I find this site very useful and if I m asking a lot of questions that I know not much about how things work.
Question: my computer runs very slowly to get on the web pages. I did a virus check and everything is OK. I also did a check for spyware, OK. I deleted temporary files and do a disk cleanup and Disk Defragmenter. It seems always slow. If I use wireless that would make it slower than the cable to the modem?
Someone has an idea of what I can try please?

    Hello

As Sam says the wireless connection is a bit slow as a cable connection, but it is a difference to reduce.
But of course, you should test the connection of the cable if the Web site transfer is faster.

Sony VAIO 4 GB, 300 GB hard drive, windows xp family premium 64 bit is slow, especially during the launch of any software of Microsoft Office family and freezes freezes frequently. I checked this virus with Northon AV, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Malwarebytes, none of them have found a virus in the system. In addition to problems, I can't back up my files (any time I try to backup, I get the following error message: "the backup was not completely successful.)  An error has occurred. The following information can help you resolve the error: the system cannot find the specified file. (0 x 80070002) »

When you were looking for registry keys referenced were there profile keys that you did not create. In other words, your profile key is listed as C:\Users\Your user name. Were all the other user profiles listed?

You save on a disk to a DVD disc or hard? If it is a hard drive is internal or external

Please navigate to regedit and make sure that the following key is listed.

If this is not the case, click HERE. Download the Windows Backup.reg file. Save it to your desktop. Right-click on the file and choose merge. Confirm all the guests.

If the foregoing is not in question and that you save upward on a disc hard launch check disk on the disk to save the backup.

  • Very slow the new Satellite L40

I would be grateful for any help you guys can give me.

I have a Satellite-ish L40 (bought last fall). It's a basic - Intel Celeron death machine / 1.60 GHz / 1015 - RAM under Vista Home Premium. He bought just to make the work of processor + some use very light internet. The problem is that it runs very slowly (including holding still to go when I start by putting).

I tested virus to death. I regularly run detection of spyware / remove programs. I have reduced the number of startup programs immediately. All results say I have a machine of clam. But it is still as slow as hell. And when I say slow, I can do about a cup of coffee in the time it takes to access the net.

I contacted Toshiba support, and the best they could suggest was that I reformat the hard disk, which is dramatic enough. If anyone out there has a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it. Right now, I'm rather regretting my purchase.

    Many thanks - Max

To be honest this radical solution is not a bad proposal.

But what do you mean exactly with the slow machine?
How long does take you to a boot?

The fact is that many applications are preinstalled on this laptop and this could be main reasons for a long start. But the fact is that many of these applications are necessary for the performance of all the features of the laptop.
In addition, an antivirus program that is running in the background and could affect the startup time. Long ago, I used the Norton Antivirus and this software was a reason my laptop was very slow... I changed it and now I'm using the freeware like Antivir software. It's much better...

sometimes working wireless on my laptop is very slow. Our people at work said there must be a lot of people in my neighborhood picky backup me & that I need to put a password on the router. How can I do this?

original title: addition of router password?

The manual is expected to be online. If you have pain to find - know everyone here the brand name and model - it is likely that someone here can help more.

Basically connect to the interface web (usually via http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 web page with the username "admin") and change the password in the configuration / administrative to something (I suggest 15 + characters including letters - upper and lower case, numbers and symbols) and then find the wireless configuration and change the password for it to something other than the administrative password - but with the same suggestion.  If she uses WEP and you have all the relatively new devices (all purchased in the last 7 years) then I suggest change you in WPA.  If possible, replace WPA2.

Probably there is also a place where you can see who is connected.

What type of Internet connection you are paying for?  (Include numbers upstream and downstream, given to you by the service provider and the type...)
