M40X 129 reboot system, if he has to work hard

Hello!

My M40x 129 worked fine for almost 3 months now, but a few days ago he began to restart the system, if it has to work hard. Often, just after the end of the loading of windows. I see a half second a blue screen and restarts Windows.

My Win XP Prof is as clean as possible with Bitdefender AntiVirus, Kaspersky Anti Hacker firewall and Spybot... I do not think that the problem is caused by a virus etc.

It would be great if anyone had any idea how I might solve this problem. Thank you very much in advance ;)

Hi Philip,

Make sure that your laptop is sufficient cooling and that the air intakes are not blocked, the laptop on a soft surface permanent or dust after being aspirated in the fan grille.

Overheating is a common cause of sudden-offs power

    Hello

    Looks a bit like an overheating problem. What do you think??
    Have you checked the temperature with a tool of freeware as an Everest for example?

    To my knowledge the laptop stops automatically if the temperature rises to a critical level to prevent material damage!

    I think that the cooling modules don t runs properly and therefore the temperature doesn't fall.

    Usually, fans can turn with a maximum yield due to dust and debris inside the laptop.
    From time to time it s advisable to clean the fans with a spray of air compression. It can be everywhere for laptop and computer purchase.

    You should also be able to clear any dust and debris using a normal vacuum.
    Place it on the grids of aspiration air for a few seconds. But be careful.
    A strong suction can damage fans.

    If you have no experience, I recommend to contact a technician and would like to ask for help

  • Control Panel System Windows Explorer has stopped working

    When I press on the Control Panel, system, I get an error "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then control panel stops. I get this error every time I have to perform this action. When I run my PC on Safe Mode, it works fine and I get no error and I'm able to run the options that appear when the 'Systems' option is selected. Other tasks in the control panel seem to work correctly.  I also noticed that I get similar messages "windows Explorer or the program has stopped working" periodically when I perform other tasks in internet explore, etc.

    I tried all the recommendations described in of KB/269949 and KB/929135 knowledge articles and many items in the Microsoft community, Microsoft and the Internet site. For example, update the video driver, auditor of file system (CFS), Virus scan, Mode safe, clean boot, memory RAM test, etc.. I also tried all the relevant actions I could think under the Microsoft Fix tool. Each of them has not solved the problem.

    I have a laptop Acer Aspire 5742 G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 with 8 GB of memory, running Windows 7 with all the latest updates installed, so all drivers have been updated. I also use the last IE 11 with all updates.

    If anyone knows a similar problem with Windows 7, Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer 11, or has a recommendation how to fix?

    Hi Ravi,

    This is an update to my problem. It might be useful to others with similar problems.

    My problem has not been resolved, but I decided to live with it. It was a difficult decision after a major disaster, I almost lost everything on my PC to try and solve the problem.

    I put the finger on the problem with the graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 version 8.741.1.5000 dated dated 25/08/2010 driver. I noticed that when I check for an update using Control Panel, Device Manager, select the graphics card above and updates, windows comes back with a message indicating that it is the best available driver.

    I made the mistake to check the AMD website to see if there is a newer driver. According to their instructions and download their program, they recommended a more recent drive using the catalyst for AMD. The new driver is Version 14.301.1001.0 dated 15/09/2014 date. The same driver is also selected if I the Slimdrivers application user. With this new driver, the problem disappeared. In other words, I was able to use the Control Panel, System menu and access the submenus system without any problems. I thought I had solved the problem. I repeated the process and checked for the driver from the Windows Control Panel, Device Manager and look for the updates. Surprise. This review of windows update back to the original version of the 25/08/2010. The problem is back again. I repeated this process with re-installing Catalyst from AMD with the same results.

    However, I noticed that the AMD Catalyst, never finished the installation and the installation crashed. Updated the driver before it crashed.

    My major problem occurred when I tried to restart the PC with the new driver installed by AMD Catalyst. My PC and Windows would not start. He gave me a number of errors that the problem cannot be corrected. I tried all the solutions, Safe Mode, point to restore, System Restore and all the choices given in the articles from Microsoft. None of them worked.

    Finally, after many hours, days and nights that I was able to use an Acer recovery disk, I created when I bought the laptop. One on the Image worked system recovery options and I could get my PC to a more ancient date. The driver is the original edition of 2010 the year with the same problem.

    Therefore, I decided to live with the problem. I can access the submenus of system using startup and entering in the auxiliary system option in the search box. I wrote these submenus.

    WARNING TO OTHER USERS. DO NOT TRY to UPDATE THE ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470, 8.741.1.5000 driver version dated 25/08/2010, using catalyst of MCDA.

    Furthermore, my assessment is that if I try to restore my PC to the factory default condition, once all windows updates are installed and I install my apps, the same problem will occur. If I did think I would lose a lot of useful applications, which I'm not sure that I can restore. I have a lot of useful data that I use for more than 20 years and I can't afford to lose their jobs. I would live with the problem until something more grand occurs. In this case, I would by a new laptop. I would make sure that there no AMD ATI products on this topic.

    Thanks again for the time. There is no reason to answer, unless as described above, you have seen something new.

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    If you had READ my answer, it explains what you have to do on a Vista DVD: borrow a.

    The manufacturer's recovery disk do not normally allow you to use it to solve problems.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If you can't borrow a DVD of Microsoft Vista, read the info below on how to get Vista reinstall Media:
    Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/homeLenovo.do
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    Hi m dickens E,.
    Have you done a recent software or hardware changes to the system?
    A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.
    You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:
  • Access to another system of Win7 has stopped working for some reason any
    I have 2 systems Win7 Ultimate x 64 on a network. These two systems have been able to share files etc for a while using standard file sharing both in a home network. For some reason, I was on the road for a few weeks and when I came home and connected to the network I am more able to reach other Win7 systems.  I can Ping the systems IP address but not by name (I get the message "Ping request can not find host xxxxx.").  If I do a 'net view', I see the host name but can use net use to access the shared drive (error system 53). Since the home network, I can see the system and open the view which shows the 'Documents', 'Videos' etc., but records by clicking on the folders just returns without having to open the folder.
    Clues as to what perhaps is the problem or how can I do to diagnose the problem.
  • Windows machine is in a constant reboot loop. HP has been working on the device and there is no hardware problem. Microsoft support said there are corrupted in windows files and we were able to repair windows.
    HP is sending me a CD to reboot for Vista and say these original files are on my hard drive. The risk is of losing all the data. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't have a backup or set a restore point in the years I've had the machine
    So my concern is to lose all e-mails, documents, images, videos, and music, a lot of itunes. Microsoft feels that they can get the computer restarted without damage and data. Apple suggested I install a product open source, Ubuntu and use the file manager in this OS to unload the files. I studied a little and it seems too risky.  My question is this; What is the best way to save my files as part of the reboot process?
    You follow what I said.
    We don't know what data is on which drive.
    1 and 2 requires that remove you your hard drive.
    1 means install you also in another computer as a slave drive.
  • System repair disc has stopped working
    I do not see a particular problematic module in this list, so I'll propose to try to capture a dump of user mode of the accident which will also show the "unloaded" modules
    You can configure Windows to create dumps of user mode. First, create a System Restore Point.
    If you copy and paste the following text in Notepad and save it as a .reg file, then right click on the .reg file and select "merge" to add to the registry, when the .dmp file recdisc.exe breaks down must be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\recdisc.exe]
    "DumpFolder" = hex (2): 43, 00, 3A, 00, 5 c 00, 43, 00, 72, 00, 61, 00, 73, 00, 68, 00, 44, 00, 75,.
    00, 6 D, 00, 70, 00, 73, 00, 00, 00
    After recdisc.exe breaks down, you can, and then make the .dmp file available (provide the link) via a public folder on OneDrive (SkyDrive) or similar site?
    I get a message when I reboot the persistence module has stopped working. Windows Media Player has also stopped working.
    Hi Greg,.
    Since when are you facing this problem?
    Method 1: Run the fixit available in the article below
    When I try to use Windows Media Player 11, the program does not start, or some UI elements are blank
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/925704
    Method 2: If a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:
    Method 3:  Select the boot and then check if the problem persists
    Follow step 1 in the link below,
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.
    Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.
    After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.
  • Error and warning before and after the POST - Satellite M40X 129
    Hello
    I use a Satellite M40X-129, bought in 2005.
    After you have reinstalled Windows and all the necessary drivers (after more than 3 years, which was the longest time I used a windows ;-)) installation this afternoon, I meet the following situation when starting):
    (... check and all the stuff of ram...)
    Updated System Configuration data
    ERROR
    0271: check date and time
    WARNING
    0251: System CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used
    Press to resume, installation
    When I press F1 to resume, windows starts very well as I'm used to it.
    I can also access the configuration and need to update the time setting.
    Two scenarios:
    (a) the startup, shutdown, reboot: error message happen
    (b) setting the time, out of the bios with save the configuration, boot, very well until the stop/restart is required
    I tried to download the update of the bios to v1.60, but the configuration tool told me that this version is already in use and it will not progress.
    What I wondered: why is it happening? I don't think that the battery power is low, which was suggested to others in other threads, because it happened just after I installed the chipset/utils and other drivers from the toshiba download page.
    What can I do?
    -Bios update? -> Where can I find a new version? A tool (which I downloaded from a site linked to Phoenix Technologies) told me, there is an update for my Bios, but he wants me to join a subscription $29.99 / year
    -Swap CMOS battery? -> how remove m40x-129, tutorials? Don't want no f * ck it upwards...
    any other advice?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards
    Hello
    I think that the CMOS battery may be empty and therefore both a given in the BIOS is always changing the default value.
    Usually, you should be able to recharge this battery CMOS very easily.
    The user manual describes how to load this. Take a look at your manual
    As I m not wrong not the laptop must be ON and running and must be connected to the mains for more than 20hours.
    Then, the notebooks BIOS battery needs to be recharged again.
    Check it out!
    Good bye
  • M40X-129: the two usb ports on the right does not work
    Hello people.
    Two days ago, I bought a satellite m40x-129. I wanted to use a usb mouse and a drive hard usb so I had to plug the device into a a usbport on the right side of the laptop, but is does not work.
    even after reinstalling with windows xp pro (I need to connect to a primary domain controller) has not changed. I installed all the drivers of the tool-cd burned by a toshiba tool in the original installation.
    Maybe it's a hardware fault. someone else has the same problem?
    Thanks, jens
    today I updated my drivers for the new 7 series chipset from intel, but the usb ports on the right still have no power and do not recognize any device.
    I'll ge see my local dealer Monday ;)
  • M40X 129 and slow Intel WLAN
    I have a new M40X 129 and a netgear wg602 Access Point.
    I tried several versions of Intel for the Bg2200 driver but all have the same problem:
    After a while the performance of the connection drops to
    about 30 KB/s. My other Clients WLAN with a map of network without WIRE WG511 (Toshiba 300 CDT) works with normal Perfomance.
    Sometimes the perfomance raises more than about 1 MB/s and it goes up and down.
    What is the broken hardware? Someone has an idea what to do?
    Peter
    Hi Peter
    I've heard of this problem, but AFAIK there's no bug or malfunction of the equipment. One of my friends looked for answers and he told me that this question may be just a problem of Intel because with one another like Atheros wireless card it should not happen.
    If I understood him right it depends on the method of authorization or something like that. If there is a possibility to try to use wifi PCMCIA card to check if there is the same problem.
    Sorry, but in my opinion there nothing to do.
  • Satellite M40X-129: fans works with a maximum return on Vista
    Hello
    I have the laptop M40X 129 for 2 years and am very satisfied in this regard.
    But since the last few weeks, I have problems with the cooler.
    If I use a 3d task in the lower first 45, that the system works without any problem.
    But his is warming a heater and cooler will then maximum (you can hear it).
    From this moment, the system becomes very slow. I run the system with the highest maximum power and use windows vista professional.
    The laptop feels too hot on the underside (ram?).
    Is it possible to run the cooler from the start at a higher level, for example in the bios or in windows (some options?)?
    I hope you can help me,
    Flo
    Hi Flo
    Usually, there is nothing wrong with your laptop. If the internal temperature rises to a higher level, the cooling modules have to perform with maximum efficiency to lower the temperature!
    While the temperature is high the graphic driver Toshiba decrease the performance of the graphics card in order to avoid a temperature rise.
    That is why the laptop could run slowly!
    What you could do is check the cooling fans and if necessary try to clean with a compressed air jet professional. These aerosols can be purchased from the merchant to the computer.
    However, please note that the installed Vista is in need of more computer resources as the beginning s MS Windows operating system. All devices like CPU and GPU with superior performance and so the temperature is higher with Vista as using other Windows OS such as XP.
    Good bye
  • System Restore error: "the changes to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»
    I had some problems with my computer recently I knew could be solved with the system restore.  Then I went into system restore and went to a restore point that was a few weeks back.  After I clicked on it and pressing the ok button, the following message appeared: "the changes made to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»  I let it continue and do the restore.  My computer has rebooted and came up with an error in system restore that says restore failed.  It's the same thing with other restore points.  I don't know why I get this error because I not made any changes to this hard drive except for copy of a document word on him.  I thought that the System Restore monitors removable disks.  Anyone know what is happening here and how I can get the restoration of the system to operate without the mistakes to come?
    I have Norton.  Disable the Tamper Protection works.  I also noticed that since the G: drive was a portable hard drive, System Restore wanted to exercise oversight.  He wants to monitor all hard drives.  Turn on external and portable hard disks prevents tracking system restore changes to the readers.  I don't think anyone would have the system restore review external drives anyway.  It is not necessary.
