M40X-309: wireless speed falls to 54 to 1 Mbit

I have a M40X-309 with Intel Wireless 2200BG driver v9.0.1.9 and after a while to be connected tha transfer speed falls 54 Mbit to 1 Mbps.
As I don't know how to solve this problem, and I found out that Intel has a new driver v10.1.0.2, I ask you if you think that I can upgrade the Intel driver without having any problems with the initial installation of the operating system, which is my case.

Hello

This issue has been discussed in this forum.
As far as I know the update of the wireless driver problem.
Please visit the Intel site and install the latest version of the driver 2200 BG:
http://downloadfinder.Intel.com/scripts-DF-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=1637&lang=eng

You can update the drive without any problems

Good luck

    Hello

This device was shipped with an Intel 2200bg WLan minPCI.
In this case, you need a driver for Intel. Visit the Web from Toshiba or you download the driver from the Intel site.

  • Time Machine wireless speed

I have an old Time Capsule style with disk 500 GB and wireless 802.11a/b/g/n spec.  [Still works very well by plug]

I want to save my Macbook Pro retina / 500 GB of flash memory.

    Two problems:

    1. not enough storage for backups without constant delays delete older backups.

    2. wireless speed to slow down to avoid slowing down the computer during backup operations.  [Were only periodically back up via ethernet]

My question: will be the last TC (3.0 to / 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) improve the wireless speed sufficiently to avoid slowing down other applications during backups?   [Note: the Signal strength is no problem - strong signal throughout my house.]

    Thanks for the tips

My question: will be the last TC (3.0 to / 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) improve the wireless speed sufficiently to avoid slowing down other applications during backups?

In theory, Yes. However, nobody here can make no guarantee of what exact improvements the last TC will provide you with.

The first generation TCs had a bad reputation when it comes to power supplies. A number of them does not have less than a year... so the fact that you had yours it would be long fantastic. Apple has not released technical details (without what is provided in the Apple Support - specifications) on what real improvements have been included with each generation, except the size of the hard drive inside.

Fortunately, Apple plans a return policy, just in case it is not meet your performance requirements.

  • Satellite M40X-309: change of keyboard

I recently bought a Satellite M40X-309 in the Portugal. I am very happy with my new laptop except for one detail: I'm Brazilian and accustomed to using Brazilians or US keyboard. The keyboard of the Satellite M40X-309 is different and I can not get used to it, no matter how hard I try.

Could someone tell me if I can change my keyboard to Americans or Brazilians one? If yes how can I buy it? Anyone know what keyboards are compatible?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Keyboard change shouldn't be a problem. It is easy to do and you can do it alone, but in this case, you lose the warranty. You can try to contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner to the Portugal and ask them if they can order a US keyboard for you.

Another way that you can Google a bit more and order one of a few suppliers of laptop parts. I discovered that the American keyboard has number V000052760.

    Good luck!

  • WAG160Nv2 wireless speed is pathetic!

So, after I've had my WAG160N router for 2 years now... I finally got a problem with it and just, I tried everything and did not solve. So my solution is to buy another and I saw in the store, it was the same router but version 2. So my router now (WHICH I BOUGHT today) is WAG160Nv2.

So today I set up and everything was fine and I plugged my laptop on it and I was happy that I got internet again, as my old router was dead. Anyway the problem is that the wireless speed never went more than 250 kb/s. The fun is that when I connect my speed reached 1.9 MB/s ethernet cable. So, how pathetic can be?

My old wag160n worked very well on wireless and cable internet (always with ethernet). So no problems at all... but this WAG160Nv2 is completely bad. Don't know what the problem with it, but I can't believe that. It's the same router but just version 2 and this one has completely slow wireless? Really?

So, after I spent a lot of time on threads of community support and cisco home I discovered that many people have the same problem with model WAG160N.

I tried to change my MTU size and my beacon interval, Fragmetation threshold, RTS threshold numbers as I read on another thread, but it's always the same.

I made a new thread because I have the same router and everything was fine and that is the version 2 If WAG160Nv2 means version 2 (v2) and my wireless is bad, really really bad.

I'm running firmware V2.00.20 and my VCI and VPI are correct. I have no change to anything on my router I have only used my ISP username and password also, I changed my wireless security key.

I'm afraid that if I turn my router to the store and take another one that he will always have the problem that people said that they returned that and they still had the problem. So am really doomed?

So the solution to my problem was to downgrade firmware 2.00.20 to 2.00.17!

If you have the same router with 2.00.20, you certainly need to downgrade to 2.00.17!

  • WRT110 wireless speed too slow

Wired connection from the computer to my new WRT110 Acer laptop to dual-core with 2 MB of RAM is really very fast.  (G-band) wireless speed is slower than dial-up or slower.  I can't use it yet!  The signal is strong.  How can I improve speed?  My older work laptop Lenovo sitting right next to my Acer wireless connection is very fast.

No, not the firewall problem.  I changed the MTU of 'auto' on 'manual' and changed default value of 1500 to 1300.  I don't know what an MTU, but it is an improvement of the DRAMATIC speed on wireless.

  • Wireless speed

I have problems with my wrt310N wireless speed v2.0.  I'm getting inconsistent speed more wireless anywhere between 1 to 5 Mbps, when I connect directly to the router I get 20 Mbps.  Sometimes I can't watch YouTube even.  I get the full download speed 2.5 Mbps, which is often faster then the speed of download.  Maybe I'm 8 feet from the router with nothing hinder I tried with nothing else hooked up and I tried to play with these settings:

MTU (1350), beacons are Interval (50), Fragmentation (2306) and RTS (2307) threshold, Channel (11) and Width (20 Hz) of the channel.

I also disabled WEP and MAC filtering instead, and I turned off uPnP.  Are there other things I can try?

I orginally bought a few months ago, but he didn't have the beach, I needed so I use it.  Now that's the installer near my computer but I'm more eligible for online support.  It is practically new and I already managed to get rid of my old router.  Advice would be appreciated.

Update the firmware on routers.  If during of the most recent, re flash again with the same firmware.  After hard reset the router and reconfigure from scratch.  Try now.

    Hello...

My Satellite L500 works fine... but when I connect to my wireless router I get approximately 58 of the MBP and it hold around this speed, but sometimes he can fall as 1MBP or 30 MBP and then everything suddenly after 5 min back to MBP 58 of its really disruptive, spesialy reading online... (active games does not cause the drop in speed)

The wireless router has also been replaced with a brand new, problem persists... but not as often.

Speed drop do not happen anywere elsewhere, but at home, and all the other computers do not lose speed... even not and old toshiba 1998 does not lose speed...

but me, perhaps of the config problem?

-Thanks in advance for any ideas

PS: the speed does not go down with cabel, but no one like cables... So yes xD

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know if you have updated the WLan driver for the last?

    See this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
    Here's the latest Wlan driver

In addition, you must set the BIOS to default settings.
If you are using Windows 7, I recommend you disable Wlan Card in Windows 7 energy saving power management.
Last but not least go to-Wlan card properties-> Advanced tab > Device Manager and check some settings it

  • Extreme slowness of local area network and Time Capsule wireless speeds

I have a time Capsule Airport Extreme 3 G with firmware version 7.7.3 I use for lan connections / wireless and backup of all apple devices that do not use the cloud. For the last month or so sometimes I ridiculously slow speed issues that cannot be remedied with any one of them that I have tried. Speed control on my i mac or wireless on any device in any location see accelerates it half of what I pay for. If I shoot a speed control to the back of the modem, everything is ok. If I shoot a speed check in a port on my machine Net Pro FVS318G safe with Airport extreme disconnected speeds are fine. But when the capsule is used the speed is slow. This happens not all the time. In fact this am that everything was fine, she just started about an hour or two there once again. And it normally clears up in a few hours on its own. It is like someone is inside my computer slows down I can't even do a backup on my i-phone when this happens.   I bought the thinking net machine that triple nat could help I'm not using the vpn option. • Wireless - speed connectivity

I currently own a MacBook Air, which was manufactured in 2011.  It has IEEE 802.11n wireless connectivity.  My router is an Airport Extreme (made in 2011), with the same wireless connectivity.

I am considering buying a new Airport Extreme, which was IEEE 802.11ac wireless connectivity.

My question is this: will be the new router IEEE 802.11ac connectivity grant an increase in speed, compared to an Internet connection?  Or else, will the fact that my MacBook Air has only "n" connectivity limit any potential speed increases?

You will be limited to Wireless N speeds

  • Portege A200: Very low transfer wireless speed

I have a router broadband wireless-B (brand linksys, model BEFW11S4 v4.0) and have problems connecting to it with the antenna WiFi integrated on my Portege A200. The connection is weak, with a very low speed (like a modem) transfer and also quite erratic, often dropping.

It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the antenna itself, as it has worked well elsewhere. The router also seems to be fine - in fact, I have a capable of achieving a good connection to it from my computer if I use a second antenna for a card PCMCIA Wireless-B.

Can someone give me a clue as to what can happen? Y at - it a setting I should change, or is it possible that there is a mismatch between the laptop and the router?

    Thank you

    Hello

Well, I guess for download and reinstall the latest WLan driver on the Toshiba site. This could help to solve this problem.

  • LOCAL M40X-230 WIRELESS NETWORK PROBLEM

I have a problem with the Wi - Fi connection. After initial startup of wireless lan, speed goes from 54 to 1 MB/s and then continues to jump around making me lose my internet connection. Thought it was the router at first but after 3 new routers, this may not be the case. Last router is liksys wag54gs. Laptop is about 7 feet from the router. Please, I need help!

    Hello, Robert

On this forum, you can find many topics on the same theme. You can check wireless Board. Check please what a http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=8406

  • Why wireless speed so vary?

I have a Qosmio F20 - wireless card is Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG, and it works at up to 54 Mbps with my Netgear wireless router.

However, the speed varies - sometimes the 54 Mbps
I want to, but sometimes, 36 / 24 / 2 or even just 1 Mbit/s. Strangely, WindowsXP (actually MCE 2005) says always the signal is "EXCELLENT".

So why the speed decreases? It can vary from a couple of times per minute.

Note that this happends even if I'm in the 10 to 15 feet of the router and did not happen with my IBM Thinkpad.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP / SUGGESTIONS.

    Mike.

    Hello
