M60: I load a game crash then computer

My satellite has problems with the graphics drivers. Whenever I load a game from the computer will crash (blue screen and all). Official website of ati ati drivers are not compatible with my computer, only display drivers, that I can find are those on the site of toshiba which are really obsolete. I have already tried:
Reinstall the drivers
roll back the driver

Please advice

Hi Erik,

It is a very common problem with laptops that use an integrated graphics chip. Usually some of the features of the original graphics card are deleted from the integrated version to avoid overheating in the notebook. That's why the real drivers can be installed and you must use the Toshiba drivers provided instead, these are specially written not to use missing features.

Unfortunately, a lot of games (especially newer ones) try to use missing features and will cause the laptop to the accident or the game to run properly.

Unfortunately there is not much that can be done to correct this problem. You can try some Omega drivers to see if it improves the situation but there is no guarantee that they will work better than the Toshiba ones.

  • Firefox crashes my computer while playing graphic intensive games, but with Firefox off, they work perfectly.

Hello, I've installed various games on my computer like in Garry's Mod, and several other 3-d games that work perfectly does well without Firefox, no crashes no problems.
Several of my games (exception is minecraft), whenever I have firefox running and all, it will just crash my computer. Black screen instantly, without warning, just instantly everything turns off. I scanned several times, I have no virus and the games work normally without firefox.

But what would firefox do to cause crash with them on my computer? Is it possible to fix it?

Well, has gained stability, promising. Creates a new profile and restore the settings of Firefox, then Yes, you would probably lose these tabs.

How many legs were open? I have a creeping suspicion that the number will be medium high, losing them is a real threat (why not use a bookmarks folder?). If so, might want to focus on reducing that number or see if cancellation of preloading would help stability... Nevertheless, prolonged megatabbing seems unsustainable.

When it reboots it just tells me that Windows has stopped unexpectedly.

First - check that you have the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset, your video device, your audio device and your network devices.  The first place to look for those who are on the Web site for your computer model & specific brand:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=4148392&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&lang=en&cc=us

When you select your operating system (Windows 7 64-bit) I see that HP ony supplies those who they provided with the system originally.  It's practically worthless.

Yes, where to from here?  I would say that you should at least install the latest video card driver - as more modern games can use those strongly...

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/Win7-WinVista-64bit-301.42-WHQL-driver.html

Download and install it.  If possible, you still have the original driver installed - this is more recent than most 30 months.

It's an AMD 785 G chipset card mother configuration, if their site is correct.  Looks like you can download and install latest drivers from AMD for this also:

    http://support.AMD.com/us/gpudownload/Windows/pages/raid_windows.aspx

    I'd say it's a good start.

What else?  It could very well be a heat problem.  Since it is a desktop - I suggest she get everything, buy some canned air for cleaning electronices and opening of this case and blow off any dust.  It can be quite the accumulation.  After blowing out, make sure that all the components that look like they 'plug' firmly/well connected.  Carefully.  Then, put the cover on and connect.

Make sure that there is enough air around the case - put a fan in front of him if you have to.

  • Games crash on XP, worse, the system worked

I have problems with games crashing on my windows XP system (other programs seem ok).  This is particularly evident with Company of Heroes, but occurs with other games as well (for example Dragon Age).  Sometimes, the program quits just (with error); more often, I get the BSOD, or another complete system crashes.  It didn't happen when the system is new (it might be 2 years old now), but it's happened for the last year or two.

Interestingly, if I do a reboot of my system just before play and then do not run other programs before you start the game, so I tend not not to have problems for the entire game session.  If the computer has been running for awhile before you start the game, then I can reliable wait an accident at some point in the first 30 minutes or so.  This suggests that the PSU or heat are not the problem here.

I wonder if my sound card is the culprit - a version of the value of the sound blaster audigy 2 and while the drivers are current, creative labs has not issued a new driver for this card in a few years now.  Other drivers (video, bios, DX9, etc.) are completely up to date.  I use a processor intel E6850 dual core chip + NVIDIA 8800GTS 512, btw.

    Any idea would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions.  In the end, I realized that my BIOS has been on the side of old, so I've updated that and also updated the driver for the NVIDIA network, which was also old Bus Enumerator (I went through all the entries in looking for drivers device manager who had available updates when I used the update button the pilot).

I have not had an accident since.

  • RollerCoaster Tycoon - can't load/save games

I've had RollerCoaster Tycoon for several years now and it has always worked well.  So I went ahead and installed on my laptop and it worked for several months until one day I couldn't load my saved games and new game, I started I couldn't save.
When I try to click on the load/save game button, nothing happens.  I click it several times and still nothing happens.  It didn't when I click it stop for a second as if it will load, then returns to what it was before.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall (using THIS method so I don't loose my progress) to see if it helped, but it didn't help (I also lost my progress after I did the step where you put the time on your computer at the time of origin, but I'm alright with again).
Also, when I'm out of the game, a small window will appear entitled "error trapping" and in the window there is a picture of a red 'x' and next to him, he said:
    Thrown exception - Access Violation
    Location of the error: unknown
(If you need me to put a picture of the window, then just tell me)
I have searched for the half day for a solution, but have not found one, so if anyone has an idea on how to solve this problem I will be grateful.

    Thanks, KingGnome

UPDATE: A patch of the answer can be found here:
    http://www.rctstationarchive.com/downloads/patches.shtml

When the page loads, select the patch of your language the game is in and run it (if you live in Australia, like me, I just used the American version as the United Kingdom, it did not work).

As far as I know, there is a patch for RCT1. Have you tried to get it and installing it again?

    Kind regards

    Patrick
