Mac Labs: ARD login script not working only off 10.11

I run the laboratory of computer science at the State University.  5 laboratories w / 100 + machines.  We have been a Mac shop all since switching to Intel chips.

I use the following login for the years script:

name = "user";

password = "pword";

Tell application "system events".

When I send to a machine (with and without SIP) 10.11, I get the following message is displayed in the status field of the task:

osascript [261:2199] CFPasteboardRef CFPasteboardCreate (CFAllocatorRef, CFStringRef): failed to create aggregate data

I don't know if the problem lies with ARD admin being 3.8 and 10.11 being 3.8.5 client.  I had similar problems with disparity admin/customer a while back who disappeared when ARD admin has been updated.

Not being able to connect on my machines 100 + is a deal breaker.  I can't deploy 10.11 nor I can recommend that we buy new machines this year (we replace generally 1/3 each year).

Someone at - it a script that works in 10.11?

Hi, solves this problem already? I would be interested in the solution because I have the same problem with my El Cap clients...

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Why the tableStyle script not working, when the other two are

    Hi, please can you help and thank you in advance. I'm puzzled. As you can see, I am new to scripting - a glance through the 15 pages on the forum showed me how the news - and I want a workflow in which I put the styles and then use in this case, "appliedTableStyle" to connect to the appropriate table.
    My question is why this style of table script not work and appear in the palette? (when the two scripts below paragraphs and cells are) I tried the doc.tableStyles.add and the doc.tableStyle.add. Please show me where I'm wrong, or a better alternative. Thank you.
    docTest = app.documents.add)
    table_styles (docTest)
    cell_styles (docTest)
    para_styles (docTest)
    function table_styles (doc)
    with (doc)
    //try {doc.tableStyles.add
    try {doc.tableStyle.add
    name: "tableGLOBAL."
    bodyRegionCellStyle: doc.cellStyles.item ('cellGLOBAL'),
    headerRegionSameAsBodyRegion: true,
    bodyRowCount: 10.
    headerRowCount: 1.
    catch {} (_)
    function cell_styles (doc)
    with (doc)
    try {doc.cellStyles.add
    name: "cellGLOBAL."
    appliedParagraphStyle: doc.paragraphStyles.item ('paraBodyGLOBAL'),
    topInset: 0,
    leftInset: 0,
    bottomInset: 0,
    rightInset: 0,
    verticalJustification: VerticalJustification.CENTER_ALIGN,
    firstBaselineOffset: FirstBaseline.LEADING_OFFSET,.
      catch (_){}
    function para_styles (doc)
    with (doc)
    try {doc.paragraphStyles.add
    name: "paraBodyGLOBAL."
    appliedFont: "Arial,"
    firstLineIndent: 0,
    justification: Justification.LEFT_JUSTIFIED,.
    pointSize: "6 pt."
    main: '8 '.
    catch {} (_)

    Your trial... construction of capture hides the real error - during the development of a script, you can not use.

    When I removed it, ID has reported only with the message quite without value

    "Error string: this attribute is not defined for the table styles.

    Source: ts = doc.tableStyles.add({")

    without saying what attribute... Try one by one, I found this particular result: you cannot initialize 'headerRegionSameAsBodyRegion '... Probably because you cannot initialize without a header first, and you don't "do" again because you always initialize the entire style.

    But this workaround works:

    ts = doc.tableStyles.add({
     name: 'tableGLOBAL'
     , bodyRegionCellStyle: doc.cellStyles.item( 'cellGLOBAL' )
     , headerRowCount: 1
     , bodyRowCount: 10
    ts.headerRegionSameAsBodyRegion = true;

    Hi Charbel,

    Have you done a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

    This problem occurs because the Messenger service is disabled. The Messenger service must run on the destination computer to activate the NET SEND command.

    Because the service is already started, and you must restart the service, you can try to stop the service, change the startup type to automatic and start the service. Check if it helps.

    Please refer to the article to define the service as automatic:

  • Mouse and keyboard not working only not to the login screen

    Hi, I was recently infected with Antispyware Soft virus. In my attempt to remove it, my screen went black, so I had to restart my computer. Entering my login screen, I was unable to connect because my keyboard and mouse no longer works. I tried to start the safe mode too and they still do not work on the login screen. However, they work at the start of the BIOS. I looked around, but I couldn't find any option for Legacy USB drivers. I went to a few USB option and select [Enabled] and it still doesn't work to the login screen. I have no PS2 port, so I can't try it. I was also able to use my mouse and keyboard when you attempt a repair of the system to do a system restore, but that solves nothing. I am at a loss what to do. I hope someone is late, as I'll be gone tomorrow/more day late today. I am writing a computer laptop and unable to remember any care my office except the fact, it's Windows Vista.

    Hi HellMuT1,

    We recommend to use a different mouse and keyboard, then check the result. If the problem persists, try the following steps.
    1. Insert Windows Vista DVD.
    2. restart your computer.
    3. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
    4. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
    5. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
    6. do not click on install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
    7. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
    8. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
    9. click on command prompt.
    10. type devmgmt.msc and press enter
    11. on the window Device Manager, in the object list, expand mice and other pointing devices.
    12. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    13 expand keyboards.
    14. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    15. Type exit and press ENTER to restart the computer.
    16. remove Vista DVD and restart the computer to see if the keyboard and mouse works fine.
    I hope this helps.

  • PowerPoint for Mac bar vertical scrolling does not work in the Sierra

    I have downloaded Sierra, open a PowerPoint for Mac 2011 version 14.5.4 and immediately noticed that the vertical scroll with my mouse does not work. They're only going to 'up' (for example, slide 14, 13, 12, 11, 10) or will be stuck between 2 blades.

    I unplugged and replugged my mouse, turned PPT market twice and rebooted my MacBook. No change.

    I know it's early days and these are the pains of growth with the new OS, but I use PPTX constantly.

    Any tips are appreciated.

    Have the same problem. I don't know that this isn't a mouse problem because it happens when I use the touchpad as well.

  • Screensaver not working only not with the hot corner

    I used to have my screensaver set to start with the upper left corner of my screen using the feature 'hot corner '.

    However, lately, he doesn't. I tested it with all the other corners, and it does not work.

    I tried other functions with the hot corners and they all work very well. This is just the screensaver that does not work.

    I can set the timer and lights up the screen saver, but not with the hot corner.

    Someone can help me with this, or have any suggestions?

    See you soon!

    Hello Kaijuman,

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    I understand that when you try to start the screen saver by using Active corners it is not. I would like you to test this behavior then starts in safe mode, and then try another user account on your Mac.

    Start in safe mode

    Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

    After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

    To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any key during startup

    How to test with another user account

    You can find out if unexpected behavior is related to the user file or a parameter in trying to reproduce the problem to a different user account. This process includes creating a new user account, connect to it and test for the issue.

    Create a test user account

    1. In the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    2. Click the users and groups in the System Preferences window.
    3. Click the lock icon and enter an administrator name and password.
    4. Click on the button Add (+) below the list of users.
    5. Choose a type of user in the new pop-up menu.
    6. Give the user a name and first name, account name, and password.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Close the System Preferences window.

    Connect to the test user account

    Log out of your current user account by choosing logout in the Apple menu, and then open a session the new account that you created. If you are prompted to login with your iCloud or Apple ID account when you log in, skip this step.

    Try to reproduce the problem

    Please let us know what the outcome is so we can help you.

    See you soon.

  • ACROBAT STARTUP SCRIPT NOT WORK (with extendscript Tooklkit CS6)

    I lived in programming, but beginning in the JS script in CS6.

    I developed some scripts in the Acrobat XI Pro console, now I wan't to install this global script that can be called by a menu.

    I'm working on Windows 7, with 64-bit:

    The path of the script is:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Javascripts

    the script name is Confg.js

    The script is created with editor Extendscript Tooklkit CS6

    only contains this line:

    App.Alert ("Hey, since a script running in the world");

    I expect that an alert is poping up, when I opened Acrobat Pro XI with any PDF file:

    for a change

    app.addMenuItem ({cName: 'Test Menu', cParent: 'Help', cExec: "app.alert ('Menu Item Test'); '" "});

    does not work either

    After the opening of PDF Pro XI with an arbitry PDF, I get an error in the console:

    Acrobat Version mit integrierten EScript-Funktionen 11.0

    Acrobat SOAP 11.0

    SyntaxError: illegal character

    1:folder - Level: App:Config.js

    If I created the file with a text editor, things work perfectly, as expected.

    If I change this own file with Extendscript Tooklkit CS6 editor , even after the file is corrupted. This is Jean-Claude clumsy. Any solution, so I can work with Extendscript Tooklkit CS6 editor?

    Without seeing the file 'text' produced by Extendscript Toolkit in a hex editor, it is rather difficult to say. If there is a code of control buried in the text file.

    Acrobat supports all UI development because most of the scripts are quite small.

    Another problem may be that Extendccript does not add tags suitable scripts when editing Acrobat JS in Acrobat.

    Acrobat is not one of the programs listed, which is accompanied by Extendscript.

    Have you installed any other tools or utilities, or have you changed a few settings?
    As far as I know you need the infrared receiver only to control the MCE Win.
    The receiver is plugged into the USB port. Please check in Device Manager if the receiver is recognized. Also, check the cable of the infrared transmitter is also related.
    However, if you are working with the Qosmio player receiver should be removed from the unit.

    Moreover, in the user manual, you can find useful information about the remote control

  • F2 and F3 brightness keys not working only not on the DM4-3050US laptop

    I have a Pavilion DM4-3050US laptop.  The brightness keys don't work at all.  All the other function keys work fine, like F9 and F10 to volume.  I looked long and seriously and tried almost all of the solutions that I found, which it which seemed so promising:  Nothing works, however.  I won't do a factory reset - no need to reinstall all the software for the brightness.  I also called HP and they offered replace the laptop, but still once, does not only apply to worsening brightness keys.  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?  It must be some sort of bug that HP is aware, no?

    Then work my F2 and F3 keys.   They began to apply when I have connected a Microsoft Comfort Curve keyboard to my laptop.  This prompted Win 7/MS update find software for the keyboard that I downloaded and installed.  After the reboot, I discovered that the F2 and F3 keys now dim and brighten up the screen.  I know that this will not work for others, it seems to be related to the installation of the keyboard software, but he has restored somehow keyboard settings that work even if I'm not using the external keyboard.

    Any help to solve these problems is much appreciated... Thanks in advance

    Hey riri,.
    Try these steps and check the result.
    Step 1: Delete the invalid registry keys
    1. Click Start, type regedit and press to enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    2. in the navigation pane, find and then click the following registry subkey:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. in the right pane, click UpperFilters.
    Note: You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You don't have to delete this entry. Click UpperFilters. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you may still have to delete the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 6.
    4. in the Edit menu, click on delete.
    5. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    6. in the right pane, click LowerFilters.
    Note: If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content cannot help you further.
    7. on the Edit menu, click on delete.
    8. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    9. exit the registry editor.
    10. restart the computer.
    Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: see How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
    Step 2: Uninstall any software CD/DVD burning.
    1. Click Start, type appwiz.cpl and press to enter.
    2. from the list of programs, select CD/DVD burning software and click on uninstall.
    3. once the uninstall, restart the computer.
    Step 3: Install device drivers in a new user account.
    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.

    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.
    I hope this helps.

  • Mouse and keyboard not working only not with the ERD in Windows 7 and Windows 7 install disc

    I have a Dell XPS 8700.  I just did an upgrade to an SSD.  The DSS started once with no problems, then it wouldn't start.  I get an error message 1 MBR.

    If I do a F12, I am able to boot from the SSD drive and everything works fine, but if any process requires a reboot it will not work.  IE, windows update that requires a restart does not update because it cannot restart.

    To fix the MBR, use either the repair or install disk to get to the command line.  I have two drives and when I boot with them I get the initial screen of language/keyboard and mouse and keyboard do not work.  I have the keyboard and mouse installed in USB 2.0 ports, their was also in 3.0 ports with the same results.  They work fine until the disc over to install the files, and then they die.  I tried 2 different sets of keyboards and mice with the same results.

    I also tried to use the Dell recovery disk and it did find and supposed to solve a problem when I ran in the beginning.  But I still get the MBR error.  The disc is represented and it did not find any problems and I wanted to reinstall windows back to the factory.

    Suggestions as to how to get my mouse and keyboard work again with the repair and install discs would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Navneet,

    Thank you for responding.

    Did you change the computer other than the upgrade to an SSD?

    Yes, I have, but that was before the SSD.  I upgraded the video card and added a 1 TB of HARD drive data.

    What is the complete error message you get on the MBR?

    The message reads as follows;

    "MBR 1 error.  Press any key to boot from floppy. »

    There is no floppy drive installed and I even tried to start with only the connected SSD.

    Are you an error code?

    No error code.

    As for changing the BIOS, I am not satisfied with messing with the BIOS, if this isn't an option.

    After thinking about this problem, I think that Dell has disabled somehow able to use disc repair/install "Windows".  I say this because they have disabled the ability to create a disk to repair Windows out of the Dell system and cannot create a Dell recovery disk.  Also because Dell has changed the MBR it wouldn't do any good to reset the MBR to the default value of Windows and the Dell recovery disk does not give you the ability to recover the MBR manually only.

    I decided that the best option was to do a clean reinstall of the OS, and that's what I did.  Everything works great for now.   It is a PITA, but nothing that I have not done before.

    Thanks again for your help...
