Mac mail application refuse my password repeatedly

About a week ago the Mail on my Macbook app stopped getting emails from my hotmail account. He asks me my password (I know is the right one) but she rejects him repeatedly. I have a hotmail account more added, but the mentioned problem only happens to one of them. The Mail application on my iphone works very well for both hotmail accounts. I also connected to my hotmail via on Safari account. Everything worked well. The problem appears only on the application of Mail from my Macbook. I don't know what to do. Please help me!

P.S. This page did not help me at all. If Mail repeatedly asks the password for your e-mail account

As long as you use the IMAP (not POP3) with Hotmail settings - >

  • Close
  • Go to System Preferences / Internet accounts / select your Hotmail account and delete it.
  • Reset
  • Open the system preferences / Internet accounts / add account

I had the same problem with Outlook, Hotmail, and the update that repaired it.

  • I changed my gmail password on my Mac mail application, but she always asks the password on my ipad

I changed my google / password gmail via Safari on my Mac and used a password generated Safari. The email clients on all my devices began to ask for the password. I entered manually on my MacBook, but each device is still asking for the new password. I have iCloud on all devices with active Keychain, I missed something because I thought that the password should be migrated to all other e-mail clients. Is there a way to do this automatically because the auto generated passwords are difficult to remember without having to type in and in more you can not copy and paste of the keychain, entry to the app on the iPad.

    Thanks for any help.

    Greetings, tmoore2310!

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. I see that your gmail password has been updated on your MacBook Pro upgrade to Mac OS Sierra. You also made certain that the iCloud Keychain on your Mac was aware of the update, but devices still require this password. I'll be happy to help you with this.

The first thing you want to make sure of is that you are connected to the same iCloud ID on all your devices. If it is in order, read this article to learn more, especially in this section:

If you cannot synchronize iCloud Keychain with other devices

Make sure that your device is on a Wi - Fi or the cellular network. If the connection seems strong, try the following steps:

    1. turn off iCloud Keychain on all devices.
    2. turn on iCloud Keychain on the device that has the most up-to-date keychain items.
    3. turn on iCloud Keychain on your other devices. They will be updated with your iCloud new keychain.

  • iOS deleted everything in my Yahoo Mail Inbox Mail application.  How can I get it back?

I used Yahoo Mail for 20 years and liked that I can access from any iPhone, iPad or PC and it's still there.  Unfortunately, my world came crashing last week, when more than 50,000 messages that had accumulated in my Yahoo Inbox disappeared suddenly when checking email on my iPhone 5 using iOS sending app.  I assumed that it would correct itself, as occasionally messages disappear briefly when loading new e-mail messages, but the Inbox was EMPTY, and only new emails seems to me from there on.  Incredibly, all of the messages that I had previously moved to separate folders (received, sent mail, specific topics that I have filed, etc.) were still there in the intact files in my Yahoo Mail, but no messages left in the Inbox disappeared.

I tried every trick I knew to try to fix it: I have closed the mail application, turned the iPhone off the power, then press.  I pressed the power button / stop and the Home button for soft reset.  I logged all of my account My Yahoo Mail devices, turned the phone market and and back logged in but mail is still missing and 5 days later did not return.  I tried to look at my Yahoo Mail on my desktop PC using the main Yahoo Mail Web site interface but nothing but appeared new messages in my Inbox.  I looked into other folders, but they weren't there, except that I've seen some messages for the 3 days before the disappearance of the Recycle Bin.  Some of those I know, that I put in the trash, but some I do not think that I have deliberately trashed, so I moved those that I could go back to the Inbox.  Any device I had used in the past who had e-mail in the Inbox "also disappears because it connects to the internet to update content.»

I then spoke with Yahoo Mail tech support people, and they said that unfortunately they have seen this happen before, if a third-party app like iOS mail is used and send accidentally deleted from the Yahoo Server using an IMAP connection, and because the application Yahoo or Yahoo site has not been used to remove their restore files do not contain the missing email and they are unable to restore the missing emails.  Only if the emails were deleted on their servers, mail would be available in their restoration files.  It's so frustrating.  I want to my house burned down and I lost so many things that were always available for pick up by looking in my emails.  Someone at - it any other ideas?  Has anyone else had a similar experience?   I don't know exactly how it happened, but maybe accidentally pressed the button "all the trash ', but I guess that one would need to first, right 'select all '?

Help! and I thank you in advance

    Hello bufmedstud,

This answer is for those who encounter the same problem. I'm afraid it might be too late to be useful for you. Yesterday, I met exactly the same problem as you described above. My yahoo Inbox was completely wiped out from the native Mail app in my iphone. I was looking at my Inbox (30 000 + sends emails of my deceased mother where to go) and all of a sudden he went empty, nothing in my trash and not found. I have disconnected and connected to yahoo mail from a browser (my computer) as well as my regular Mac Mail application in my computer and they were all gone.

I searched online and feared the worst. Apparently the glitch in iOS has touched many. So I immediately deleted my accounts (Gmail and Yahoo) from the Mail application in my phone and download Gmail and Yahoo apps to prevent a third party manage my Inbox. Until I found this link:

I have filled out this form, and waited. The next morning, I received two emails from Yahoo support with no content, but also all of my emails back. I don't know what happened, but I would advice to act quickly before to spend more time and to avoid using the Mail app in iphone.

    I hope this helps others.

  • Mac Mail did not request a new password after changing the outside

    Hello world

I recently changed my password of gmail on their web site after "suspicious activity" had been detected. But Mac Mail does not work. Still able to send and receive emails and it asks me to enter a new password.

How is that possible? Any ideas?

If you have enabled the validation in 2 steps, you generated a password specific to the application in your Google Mail account and it is entered instead of the login password you use on the Web site.

  • field of password missing Mac mail

Mac mail, accounts, lack of field of password for all IMAP e-mail accounts. I've updated the Yahoo password online, how to change password in mac mail?

    Hey djb72563,

I understand that you have recently changed the password for your Yahoo account and need to update. To do this, go to System Preferences > Internet accounts. This will allow you to change this information, and it will update this Mail and other applications that use this account. Take a look at the article below for more information. If this is not your version of Mac OS X, it will still work with previous versions of these past and even OS X El Capitan.

  • Impossible to update Google password for Mac Mail (no password field)

I needed to update my gmail password so now Mac Mail is not my gmail.  I have looked everywhere a place for the user name and password in the e-mail accounts or system preferences and can't find it.  the common solution people give is:

"Click the Mail menu and select the preferences option. Select your account and update your password in the password field. Click on icon close this window, and then click Save. »

Under the Mail menu > Preferences, select the account, click the sign [---] at the bottom of the list of accounts, and then add the account.

You can try this plugin I found on Apple's site, that should do the trick.

But if this does not work, I'd recommend posting your question in the Mac forums.

Click go > hold down option key it out > library > Keyring > remove all content in the Recycle Bin.

the apple logo reboot & empty trash. Once, configure your e-mail application, iCloud (you must have four-digit verification which is constant).

  • Problem with the mail application after upgrading to El Capitan

I've recently updated to snow leopard at el capitan on a 2009 macbook pro.

I can't send e-mail from the mail since the upgrade application.

Incoming mail server address is grayed out in the settings preference of apps under 'Account Information'. It reads "p02 - My full username iCloud is also grayed out. It doesn't seem to be a way to fix this. I believe that the correct server address should be "".

The outgoing server address is "".

ICloud Drive switch makes no difference. I also tried to remove the iCloud account on the 'Accounts' page under preferences app mail and setting up the account again. Also makes no difference.

I can send emails with mail on my iPhone application and receive emails on my mac and iPhone.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon

You go to System Preferences-> Internet accounts to fix the details of the server. These things are more fixed inside the Mail application. It may seem strange, but it makes sense, since the accounts are used for email and other services. Now, is there a central location for this.
