Mac Mini, 2016, 5.1not Surround sound work

Hello

I'm new to mac. I have so far had to import my library ituns with sides of my pc and I have problems major can´t import a CD so I'm not in love with the new system. Also I just found out that the mac does not work with 5.1 all the time! I have configured as such, and when I do a test the rear speakers work. However, when I look at something or have music on there is no sound from the rear speaker I checked on my blueray and they work so no problem there.

Any ideas.

This CD you are trying to import into iTunes?

And why you can not import?

Computer music are for most stereo and not 5.1 surround sound.

1st, CS5 is 4 + years old so you MAY have problems with the latest Apple operating system

Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to the 'default' permissions that need to be changed

  • Will be the new high-end Mac Mini (2016) support three 3 k monitors?

I know the Specs Tech said two monitors, but has anyone connected to three monitors and it works perfectly?  I'd rather not spend the extra $1500-$2000 for the use of a monitor, so if someone uses already three monitors on this configuration, I would like to know.  Thank you.

The specifications are correct. It support only 2 monitors with a maximum power of 2560 by 1600

  • Taken helmet Mac Mini internal hum but works fine

My Mac Mini made headphones humming internal but works very well. The hum is not constant. When I boot it is quiet so if I play a sound in ANY format or any program that there is a strong buzz that starts and the kind of "" did ramp up the tone. If I stop then the sound of the source of the hum lasts almost exactly: 30secs and then all stops. Again, it is only through the headphone jack, the Interior is fine and works as usual.

I had plugged in a new audio line just before it happened... I wonder about a failure/problem of grounding. I have also used an IO just before Scarlett and the audio output. It is no longer connected.

I have "waved it a little" cleaned, tried headphones and speakers, disconnect the power source and replaced by another source and of course turned on again with and without the connected headphones.

It is a Mac Mini from 2012.

    Thanks for any help.

Could be a ground loop in your power connections. Try unplugging all unnecessary devices in power and to change the socket where the Mac is connected

  • Need to buy a Mac mini (2014) AC (2 pins), urgently supply cable.

Where can I get one? They are not on the Apple store website at all. I called Maplin and PC World (I'm in the United Kingdom), they do not their stock. In fact, I was told that I have to make an appt on an Apple Store to get one. I really hope that's not true that I do not drive and my nearest Apple Store is more than 70 miles away. I lost my cable and need to get on the mac mini really soon to get important work done. Can anyone help?

It's a power cable that looks a bit like a coordinator of the kettle, 2 pins with ideally a UK plug. I am located in the East of Kent.

The current and for the last years the mini computers Mac have used a type of power connector officially called a C7 but more commonly called an "eight". It is a completely standard cable and is not special to Apple or Mac mini.

    See http://www.amazon.co.uk/White-Figure-Mains-Power-2-5Amp/dp/B00DT4LRQK/

While that the foregoing would be Amazon VPC's most of the electrical stores will sell this type of cable including Maplin.

    See http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/2m-power-lead-with-figure-of-8-connector-white-n46da

Note: I chose the Amazon above an example because it's the white color of the an original Apple provided with the Mac mini. Most stores will probably only have black, but of course, that work just as well.

  • Updated Mac Mini to Sierra - no sound

After update to Sierra my sound doesn't work internal speaker or headphones.  However, I can send her out to airplay, and the sound from my HDMI.  So I know that my sound is not working.

I can do the headphones work, when I unplug the HDMI.  However, selection of helmets in results in no output sound settings.

Note: I tried all settings (for example the helmet as selection, airplay, HDMI, etc.).  I unplugged the HDMI, started to work in the sound, and then plugged headphones in HDMI and headsets leave to new and no setting will restore the sound in the headphones.  I even deleted the sound configuration files, played with the bits, MIDI and other parameters.

  • Exactly what speaker model works with a Mac Mini end of 2014?

In Dec of 2015, I bought a new end 2014 Mac Mini at the Apple Store online. I want external speakers for it.

Can someone tell me PLEASE the correct model that works?  I have read many horror stories.

    Thank you!

Plug any external stereo speakers will work if they can use a 3.5 mm stereo. You will need to do your own research to find those who have the best sound quality.

  • 32 envy: no sound on HP Envy 32 via mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable on Mac mini

I recently bought a HP Envy 32 monitor and hooked it up to my Mac mini using a mini DisplayPort (i.e. Thunderbolt) DisplayPort cable. The video works fine @ 2560 x 1440, but I have no sound. The output sound in references to system preferences "the selected device has no output settings" for the 32 envy. The sound works fine when I use a HDMI cable, but then, the resolution is limited to 1080 p. The Mac mini is a mid 2011 model, which is able to transfer the audio via DisplayPort, SAA as far as I know. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

Figured out how to get mini-displayport audio to work with the HP Monitor (I have a Macbook Air)

In addition to choosing the HP monitor HP ENVY 32 audio in the PREFERENCES SYSTEM-> SOUND->-> OUTPUT

An adjustment should also be made to the AUDIO and MIDI CONFIGURATION.  You can either do a search for it in the finder, or it is in APPLICATIONS-> UTILITIES-> setting up Audio and MIDI

    1. Open the app
    2. In the left menu, select DisplayPort
    3. Format of... Replace with 48000,0 Hz 2-channel 24-bit wide

Once changed, you should be playing audio from your monitor.

    Good luck.

  • 2014 mac mini can play a sound in my sound bar?

Hello and thanks in advance. I use my Mac mini to 2014 as a HTPC, I'm having the hardest time trying to get my mini play sounds through my bar of the Harmon Kardon SB16. Currently I have the mini connected via HDMI to the tv and optical ranging from the soundbar in tv. Works great, but my goal is to control the volume using the keyboard instead of using the TV remote. I tried the optical toslink cable from the soundbar in 3.5 mm jack at the rear of the changed mini settings in sound through system suggestions as well as the MIDI parameters in the application in utilities. In the system prefs it shows optical but no master volume and needless to say, not only no sound. I thought that the 3.5 mm jack plug served as a helmet and s/pdif digital output. Do I need a DAC converter any to have this capability? I was looking in the Music Streamer technologies of high resolution of THS lll I called audio shops I found online and all said call Apple that I find strange, given that many people use Mac/PC for the sound through stereo receivers. The soundbar has several types of connection coaxial, fiber optics and source 1 rca red white. I think that this is possible only with a stereo receiver. Sorry for my ignorance on this, but I'm at my wits end, trying to find a solution. My bar of his 2.1 has amazing sound and not looking forward to buying a receiver to have this feature.

    LLL of stream music

Cable to connect the soundbar to mini.

You can. Looks like sound bar has an analog connection (source a) with a connection to the left and to the right. All you need is to get a cable with on one side a Jack 3.5 mm to connect the headset to your mini. And the other side 2 taken. One to connect to each Source 1 connections. That should do it

  • Mac mini (late 2012) flashing - question mark folder recovery does not work

    Hi all

earlier today, I upgraded my Mac mini (end 2012) to the latest version of macOS Sierra.

After 1 hour of use, I realized that many of my plugins FCPX were not working.

I contacted the developers, and they said does not update the plugins and they told me to go back to El Capitan.

I decided to listen to them and try to downgrade my OS.

I restarted the Mac and held down Cmd - R or something like that that took me to the disk utility screen.

Then I went down to dinner, and when I returned 30 minutes later my Mac had entered the sleep mode for some reason any.

I woke up the Mac and 40 seconds later the power went out for 5-10 minutes.

After the blackout, I restarted my Mac that took me to a black screen with a flashing question mark folder.

I followed some tutorials online (including how to enter get - and the recovery of internet mode), but after a while even restoration of the internet shows me the flashing question mark folder.

I don't know what to do.

And no - unfortunately I don't have a Time Machine backup.

But I have a backup with all my most important files.

Is it possible to force the Mac to reset itself or something like that?

    Help, please.

    Best regards

    Filip

What happens exactly when you start Internet recovery

by pressing Command + Option + R at the start of the OS X Internet Recovery*.

and go to disk utility and repair the startup disk?

If repairable, the startup disk to format and install OSX via recovery. you install Mountain Lion or dependent Mavericks when the Mac was made. Then OSX you want.

  • A 'Powered USB Port' does not work on Mac Mini

I have an external POWERED USB multiport block. When I plug the Superdrive into a Port powered on the unit, which of course is connected to my Mac Mini (2012) the Superdrive not even she acts as if it is connected and will not accept a disc. All ports are USB 3.0. I'm so uncertain that the Superdrive will work on any USB port other than the one on the Mac itself. Any advice? I El Capitan installed, but it has worked that way before the upgrade.

I have an old Mac Mini with a DVI Port that came with a VGA DVI-adapter.  Tonight, my monitor went down.  Brand new monitor works with that? Any recommendations? Can I use an adapter?  If yes should which adapter I?

You can use any DVI monitor DVI port directly or have any VGA monitor with the power that you adapter. A HDMI monitor might work with an adapter DVI to HDMI in a pinch, but HDMI tends to be more fickle.
