Mac Mini and magnets

Could place a magnetized on a mac mini and get her to completely clean the computer?

Unless you have a huge magnet neodymium, it is not very likely.

  • is it possible to send airtime on a mac mini and connect to multiple screens (5)?

Hello - I'm looking to see if it is possible to use Airplay to a Mac Mini and connect to five different views and see the same thought at the same time. I understand that each display would need its own apple tv, but I don't know if it's strictly a ratio of one to one, or it would be better to run the HDMI from the mini and feed a splitter HDMI and wire them hard. I want to run a video loop of an IPAD for the mini and the mini to distribute video on screens. Thank you.

No, this is not possible with Apple TV.

I have the plan which covers computers, do I need to change my MacBook Air to my mac Mini. and I already installed it on my iMac. How can I do?

    Hi Lena,.

Certainly, you can transfer your products from one machine to the other. All you have to do before transferring them is launch the application, go to the Help menu and disable the application.

Once the application is disabled, then you can follow the article: download and install Adobe Creative Cloud apps that will help you to install the application on machine 2 of yours.

Let us know if you have still any confusion around this.

  • Hello I have a subscription to creative cloud and I bought a new mac mini and want to know how to transfer my old programs on the new mac mini?

Could someone help me, I have a new mac mini and I would like to know if you only have to connect to use programs that are included in my creative cloud subscription? I don't want that no extra charge is generated by the presence of 2 computers with programs. I just want what they in the new mac mini

You must install the Manager of the CC on the new machine and log, as you did initially.  Then, you can install the applications that come with your subscription that was suitable for your system.  You are allowed to have two machines with working facilities, you don't have nothing to do with the original installation.  If you prefer, however, you can disconnect from the original so that it is no longer active.

  • Need recommendation of Tablet for use with a Mac Mini and CS6

    Hi all

I'm under CS6 on a Mac MIni with OSX 10.8.3.  I want to start to learn the entrance of graphic design on Photoshop and Illustrator, and everything I've read indicates the use of a Tablet is de rigueur.  Can anyone recommend a high shelf support of range that is compatible with the Mac Mini and CS6?  Apple's site only shows the Tablet Wacom Bamboo Splash but gives no clue if it works with Adobe tools.

    Thank you

    Kevin H.

Wacom Bamboo or Intuos tablet will work. Intuos tablets are better but more expensive. I wouldn't consider any brand other than Wacom. There are much cheaper brands tablet out there, but Wacom is the best tablets.

I tried to restore my Mac Mini for her to be as good as new.

First, I entered the data on the drive in recovery mode and deled, then I tried to reinstall the OS X but an "article not available now" message appeared. So I fool it wa because tha iMac was linked to my account of mothers instead of mine.

I accidentally turned off the mac and were unable to enter the recovery mode since then.

  • Need to put in place an old Mac Mini and restore from a backup

I have a strange question.   My husband, who is quite old and disabled, a die of his old Mac Mini.  Well a friend gave us a 'new' old mini so he could get up and running, but I need to do two things.  One is I need to get all the programs they had on it because it's much too heavy for an old mini without intel.   I also need to keep things simple for the husband.   The second thing I have to do is restore all his tricks of the time Capsule.    The mini has the former user on that stuff and I would like to clear all that I am has it down to the setup of the wizard, I can have then take off all the data from the Capsule and put it in the mini.  Is there a way to do it?   Thank you

PS There OS 10.5 on it.

    See:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204350

If it has OSX 10.5 then delete insert the OS x 10.5 install disc and format the boot disk and reinstall 10.5.

  • an early 2008 mac mini and want to know what OSX iI can be upgraded to.

I have an early 2008 mac mini, model A1283 and the OS x 10.6.8.  Is there an OSX I can pass safely to this machine?

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

    My applications are compatible?

See table of application - RoaringApps compatibility

    Upgrade to Lion

If your computer does not meet the requirements to install the Mavericks, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

You can buy Lion to the Apple store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus taxes.  It's a download. You will receive an email with a redemption code that you then use on the Mac App Store for download Lion. Save a copy of this installer to your download folder because Setup deletes itself at the end of the installation.

    Lion system requirements

1 mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,

    or Xeon processor

    2. 2 GB of memory

    3 OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.6.8) recommended

    4. 7 GB of available space

    5. certain features require an Apple ID; conditions apply.

I suggest that stick you with Snow Leopard because the Lion is a bit a dog. If you really need to upgrade over Snow Leopard, then you need a new computer.

  • Mac Mini and USB Logitech M510

Recently bought a Mac Mini to replace the PC Installer.  The eyes using the mouse Logitech and the keyboard I've used previously.  The mouse is the M510, Apple sells on their site.

If the dongle for wireless devices is the only accessory USB plugged in, they work perfectly.  If I plug another device... USB, printer or Apple's DVD player... the responsiveness of wireless devices become catastrophic.

I also have the same problem that I have seen many other observations, the Mac Mini does not recognize my logitech USB devices once it enters a sleep state.  I see nothing in the energy save about turn off the USB ports.  My USB ports are defective?

Mac mini (late 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

USB mouse uses 2.4 GHz, which can fight with wireless internet and will probably be lost.  May not happen, just say.

USB ports only provide so much power.  You can get a powered USB hub (AC electric power provides 90 + % of the need for power devices) and the mac mini will just need to maintain communication with the hub.  Power loss could make the odd behvaior mouse, and the powered hub could allow many devices (mouse, printer, other USB drives, etc.) to have the USB-power of the wall instead of emptying of the mac mini.

A decent powered hub can be had from BestBuy for $20.
