  Since upgrading to Mac OSX Sierra my Macbook Pro and Macbook Air are not capable of doing Time Machine back Ups to a WD MyCloud drive that is connected to our router.

  We have updated the firmware on the WD My Cloud drive to the latest version and contacted WD on this problem, so far they have not come with a solution to the problem.

  If you open Time Machine preferences and then observe what happens, by hitting 'Back Up Now' systems do "Looking to save the disc" then "Preparing backup" then stop and then go back to the status of 'rest' without backup anything to the top at all.   If I understand correctly, you tried to install macOS a few times and it failed. Now you're stuck on language selection screen and it will not progress.   It is possible that during the upgrade, your IMAP mailbox has been corrupted and prevents you to view these attachments. To resolve this problem, we will rebuild your mailbox.

  To rebuild your mailbox:

  1. Open mail
  2. Select the mailbox in the sidebar to the left
  3. Use the Mail menu bar and choose BALL > rebuild. This will take some time depending on the number and size of messages in the Inbox mailbox.

  After upgrading to Mac OS Sierra, my 2015 iMac 21.5 retina has a flashing red Apple logo, then a brief splash screen flickering when starting.   2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
  3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

  To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.
