Mac Pro 2013 randomly restart problem

Hello

Here's my problem: I have a Mac Pro end of 2013 (6 cores, 16 GB ram, over-pants D500, running OS X 10.10.5 with a WACOM Cintiq 21 - UX as my view only) who has, for the last month or so been randomly restart itself.

There are some days where it might be three or four times and then days where it won't do it at all. Also there are moments where it works well for hours, but then if I turned off the Mac Pro, it will crash and restart. Sometimes it will freeze momentarily application-wise (but the cursor moves but does nothing) before it restarts but usually just the screen goes black and then it restarts without any warning. I still get the black screen with the «your computer has restarted...» Press any key' and of course, it generates a crash report that I submit to Apple every time (that I'll post more recent one below as well.) I did start secure upward, reset the PRAM, booted single-user, just that I found online to do which is recommended. But nothing seems to have done something to help.

The Cintiq is connected through a DVI adapter to Thunderbolt. I also have Mercury Elite Dual Pro Rack hung RAID normally via Thunderbolt. There are times when I think that there is a problem with the RAID box and the Mac Pro but not sure. As there is a problem with the Thundebolt ports. I tried to pass the cables autour, but it has not seemed to have made all the difference. This also has all seems to have coincided with the last update of OS X where I've also updated the driver for WACOM Cintiq (I since past to the old driver). Is this all just a matter of software conflict?

I found an Apple Support thread where someone has indicated that a Kernel Panic may cause this, but then it also seems similar to what I've found, that was the issue with the Macbook Pro, which had problems with graphics a bit backward.

In any case, here's a crash report if it helps and thank you for any help that anyone can send my way!

I own a MacBook Pro 2013. The last 2 months he was randomly restart on me. It is always preceded by a graphic deformation of the screen. Essentially, the Tufts of the vertical lines appear on the screen, the mac freezes for a few seconds and then restarts. My hypothesis is that it is a hardware problem. I have already installed the new RAM bars (apple approved). Note that I started my mac with Windows 10 and this issues occurs if I'm under windows or OS X El Capitan double.

If your MBP is a model 15 "beginning 2013, it may be applicable:

If so, make an Apple store for testing.

  • Samsung U28d590 + Mac Pro 2013

    Hello world.

    I have a Mac Pro 2013 AMD over-pants D300 2048 graphics card.

    I use a Samsung 4 k U28D590 connected via DisplayPort / Thunderbolt, to change 4 k video.

The display works fine but if I use the maximum resolution (3840 x 2160) all the icons and text looks too small and it is impossible to work.

I think that, if the Retina displays resolutions higher than my Samsung and icons and the text are a good size for the job, why OS X is not make the same options for scaling using a third party appear? Especially when Apple does not have an external display in 4 k for Mac Pro...

Does anyone have the same problem?

Thank you and sorry for my bad English.

Yes, it is a common problem with the exception of the high-resolution iMac. For those, which Apple also provides the screen, that they have increase the icons and other elements of the OSX system so they ae readable ore.

Make a suggestion to Apple to implement than for non-Apple screens

  • with 10.11.2, Mac Pro 2013 wakes up not 4 k shows up after sleep as before.

I installed 10.11.2 today and found that the Mac Pro wakes up not 4 screens connected to the thunderbolt ports k. I tried many kinds of 4 k screens, including u28e590d, u24e590d, p2716q etc., but none of them is waking up after sleep. the only resolution is to disconnect and reconnect the thunderbolt (view port) cable a thunderbolt different port.

these screens all work perfectly with 10.11 and 10.11.1.

    Steps to reproduce:

1: having a Mac Pro 2013, configurations and install 10.11.2

2: Connect a screen 4 k as u28e590d to the thunderbolt port, using mini-displayport cable.

3: let the Mac Pro sleep

4: when press a key or click the mouse, the Mac Pro will wake up but the screen won't wake up 4 k.

A month or there is my Mac Pro 2013 is no longer sleeps, even if I try to sleep it manually. I have enabled and changed the setting of Sleep/Power Nap in energy-saving.

I looked at the article Apple and that did not help. I have reset the SMC and booted without failure. I haven't changed any connected equipment or internal. The console log does not help me, but here's the most recent when I sleep manually it. I have bolded the line that started the sleep/low power mode and the line where it was released

    Hello..

Sorry to hear that your Mac Pro is upward...

If you have not yet tried, Reset NVRAM on your Mac.

    Hello, all:

Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before I add that extra RAM for the empty slots this Mac Pro (2013) that a 2 x 8 is installed.

    Thank you in advance.

The 4 and 8 GB sticks are not saved while the sticks of 16 and 32 GB are registered. As you seem to know, you can not mix registered and unregistered sticks. For example, you can only add 4 or 8 GB sticks to your present 8 GB sticks

  • Mac Pro 2013 become hot, not answer and stop.

    Hello

I have a 2013 Pro Mac, I bought as used before 5 months and he was well, before 3 days, the weather was warm (approx. 28 °) and under normal conditions, use my Mac Pro start freezing and not answered every 15-30 Minutes and automatically stop or I have to disconnect the power cable.

I started looking on the problem, I checked the bodies of the Mac Pro and I found it very hot, the fan worked but slow, I searched on Google on a tool or a command I can do the fan faster and I found an application called SMC FanControl, this app showing me that Mac temperature of 48 ° also with this app, I was able to turn the fan to Max speed, I heard the noise of the fan, it worked perfectly with this app. The Mac Pro early to work perfectly also with in normal and hard jobs.

Yesterday, I decided to clean all of my Mac Pro material, maybe that this solves the problem, it was dirty, and I did as new as you can see in this picture:

I also used for better CPU and GPU thermal compound I found on the market.

BUT the problem came with the first video editing, 48 ° c, closing down and not be able to turn it on for 5 Minutes.

The question is: why my Mac Pro not control the fan automatically? is it a software or a hardware problem? If the material someone we know exactly?

    Best regards

    Which component was 48 c?

    What was the hottest component?

    It's not hot at all.

From now on my MP 2013 with base CPU, CPU ITPP and CPU sensors 1-4 are about 100 ° C and speed of 84CFan two GPU time 1750

    • Record the time of the next frost. After the reboot, open the Console app in Finder > Applications > utilities and look for entries of the log at the time of freezing. Suspicious message here.

Search before the journal entry that begins with BOOT_TIME since it is the first line of a startup

Apple cannot help you because you have disassembled the Mac.

You already reset the SMC to take part. try resetting NVRAM/MRTP memory

  • How to fix or get data off Mac Pro with display/restart issues

Hi, my early 2008 Mac Pro running El Capitan suddenly started to show lines all over the screen, then it restarted, displaying an error message and since then he's been stuck in a reboot loop never get past the progress bar and with very distorted display. Two questions:

    (1) any solution to this? It is an old machine, worked great so I would like to continue using it if possible, but do not want to put money in it at this stage.

    (2) what is the best way to get data out of the two internal drives to the machine on my Mac Air? I need to access the files on it, also like his 2 x 1 TB hard drives I will not be able to transfer the data on Air, but you will need to use them as external drives.

    Help appreciated!

    Get a dock like this

    http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/forums/feline-health-the-main-forum.28/

and take the readers on the Mac Pro and put them in the dock and connect to new mac via USB

You can also get an enclosure that accept disks 3 1/2 in.

In addition, you can get a bolt of lightning > FireWire adopter and connect the two Macs via FireWire and start the old mac in target disk mode

How to use and troubleshoot disk mode target FireWire - Apple Support

The error message say? Problem could be the graphics card bad or maybe bad memory.

If you open the side cover are all diagnostic lights on?

  • Mac pro 4.1 with problem / contrast Color dell u3011

I have a 4.1 MAC PRO 8-CORE 2.26 (radeon 5870) and use it with snow leopard and recently added the el captain on the second startup disk.

for a monitor, I use the U of DELL 3011 via display port.

I have problem with high contrast, even after calibration of the monitor with photo colormunky and since I want to use this game for photo editing is a huge problem.

the only solution by chance that I found at the Leopard version is to use the TESt MONITOR EIZO and after closing this program everything happens here, it should be! When I open again the test, it looks appropriate to the levels of white on black r correct and distinguished colors are more natural and when I print it is exactly the same.

unfortunate this model does not work at the start of the captain el drive so I had to ask for help in the community

Check the settings of improved contrast.

It is found in the system preferences.

Depending on the version of Mac OS X, its name varies from random combinations of words such as 'Universal access' and 'accessibility '.

  • I want to use Siri on my Mac Pro 2013, but there is no built-in microphone.

Great so Siri is now activated on your desktop with Sierra. How can I add an Apple flagship computer microphone, the 2013 Pro Mac in a cost-effective manner? It's not even a microphone jack! Help, please!

Is your Mac has a headphone jack? Then try an Apple headset with a built-in microphone.

I'm seeing this in the specification tecniques for Mac Pro: http://www.apple.com/mac-pro/specs/

Audio combined optical digital output/analog line in mini-jack

headphone 3.5 mm with headset stand

The Headphone Jack would connect Apple headphones.

Or use any bargain price USB microphone for speech input.

  • Mac Pro Win10 Bootcamp 6 problem

I have a late 2013 Mac Pro with win10 installed via bootcamp. When I was playing with the correction of memory and Crossfire options for the video driver for my D700 had crashed and would never recover little matter how many times I rebooted, tried different ports etc... I had to log in to safe mode and remove the video drivers and to remove the software to make it work again. Now, I can start in my bootcamp partition but video drivers must always be installed. There is no bootcamp to icon on the taskbar. Apple software update says I last 6 training camp and won't let me reinstall or uninstall. Windows uninstaller won't uninstall bootcamp, Apple provides no bootcamp 6 pilots to the public, helper on OSX bootcamp not download drivers or drive out of them as in the past...

So what am I supposed to do with my Mac Pro 9 k $?

    Designed says:

So what am I supposed to do with my Mac Pro 9 k $?

What is right. You deleted currently partially drivers and possibly a registry damaged.

Apple allows the public access to Windows drivers with the help Wizard of BC. El Capitan and superior, with BC 6.x, you can download the drivers for help

Put it on a USB key, if necessary, start in Windows and run setup.exe from the USB and the test.

  • My Mac Pro has a hardware problem with the updates

The material inside my Mac Pro's problems to be expandable to level technology current todays.

There are a lot of new technologies whose PC users seem to be able to use. But my Mac Pro is stuck with tech pushes now 3 years old.

I tried looking for answers on google, but there is no information. I tried to search for information that Apple has announced update with news about what is happening, but there is none.

This is a serious question, as my competitors have a huge advantage technology on me as the problem persists.

Apple does not level the old computers. You can only buy a newer model if the model you have is no more meet your needs. Depending on the particular model of Mac Pro, you have, it may be possible that others have improved the processors. You can find this article on Google. Then, you can always replace the GPU with a newer version that is compatible. But these are things that you would do, not Apple.

  • 2008 mac Pro Apple Raid card problems, help!

Hello, I have a mac pro 2008 with a raid set up. I want to get rid of all old raid together upwards and instead put a new ssd in the first Bay. The computer cannot read it because I think that it is always configured as a raid. Does anyone know how to make the available drive bays to new readers? You're help would be highly appreciated. I want to take the Apple Raid card so I can have an additional PCI port and I also want to get out the discs four raid. Just so I can put in a single ssd! Thank you very much.

When you remove the Apple RAID card, readers who were searched will be unreadable. You need to make backups before time, because there is no way known to them read differently.

There is a data cable, called the iPass cable connected to the motherboard to the RAID card. You must remove this cable when you remove the RAID card and reconnect the plug corresponding on the motherboard. Once you do this, you get four bays returned as SATA bays and can install any drives that you like. The problem with a lot of SSDS is that they are 2.5-inch form factor drives and may not fit on a standard sled. Users have used an IcyDock (in the 2008 version and earlier versions) or the newer technology adaptadrive:

... to get the alignment and attached straightened.
