Mac Pro Dual Quad 3.0 GHz (8 cores - April 2007) not able to run 64 bit comments

Help, I should be able to do.

See this thread, because it is a similar issue that only my machine does not all 64-bit indicating my machine does not support hardware virtualization

http://communities.VMware.com/thread/143298?start=0 & tstart = 0

Here is what I get:

* "VT operation is not supported by this VM configuration. " *

You have configured the virtual machine to use an operating system 64-bit client.  However, this host is not able to run 64-bit virtual machines or virtual computer has 64-bit support disabled.

+ For more information, see http://vmware.com/info?id=152""+ "

Running on the latest version, but this problem has always been there in previous versions (2.0.5)

10.5.7 (failed in earlier versions either)

8 GB ram

2 TB of storage

Tried the switch recommended on the config file but nothing.

Thank you

You have only one physical processor that implements revision VT VMCS a 7 and another that implements revision VMCS VT 11.  These processors are not compatible for execution of VT.  One processor is family 6 model 15 stepping 7 and the other family 6 model 15 stepping 11.  Intel has released a firmware fix that resolves this problem for the processors that differ only by deepening.  You should check to see if there is an update of the firmware from Apple that contains this fix firmware.

  • I have Photoshop CC and will buy the new Mac Pro. CC of Photoshop supports 12 cores?

I have Photoshop CC and will buy the new Mac Pro. CC of Photoshop supports 12 cores?

Actually, I disagree with respect.  Photoshop makes good use of a large multi-core system.

I use a desktop PC top of range 12 core for more than a year.  Hyperthreading gives me 24 logical processors.

A lot of Photoshop uses all of the logical processors whenever possible.  Which means that the system is available for your use as much more quickly.

How long can you complete the radial blur on the next page reference (it's just a Radial blur the simple of a medium sized image)?  My system it ends well less than 10 seconds.

    http://ksimonian.com/blog/2010/02/24/improved-Photoshop-benchmark-CPU-speed-test-for-both-Mac-PC-free-radial-blur-filter-test/

    Here is my result:

Based on my knowledge of Intel processors, I think that the new Mac Pro with the latest Xeons top range will run this test in an unprecedented 5 to 6 seconds.  If your system takes more time, it's a person with a powerful multi-core system may be doing things in Photoshop while you wait for seconds.

In addition, large systems - especially those with ultra-high throughput of e/s (like the Mac Pro will) - multitasking VERY well.  The new Mac Pro provides a disk subsystem gargantuan high-speed flash memory.  I had to build a matrix RAID of SSD to achieve this performance.

Virtually nobody has seen yet Photoshop run as well as he is going to run on this new platform.

  • WiFi 802.11 b, g, n (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz), why is the razr not able to use 5 GHz?

I was wondering why we are not able to use 5.0 GHz, does make a difference? Totally, I do not know. Maybe you guys can help me. Thank you!

(please not all values are estimated and not 100% accurate)

The only advantage on the 5 GHz will be noticed if you're less 1 mtr from the router once you pass the 1mtr threshold you will lose any advantage in speed so your phone will automatically be seleect the 2 GHz band.

5 GHz bandwidth may push your wifi connection up to 300Mbit while 2 GHz is limited to about 190Mbit

but on 802.11n distance plasys much of the speed you will actually recive therfore in the case of mobile phones there is no great advantage in the phone, a connection of 5 ghz as if you where to walk away from your router 3mtr aprox you up to 180Mbit in speed is (in my opinion) main reason why phones do not hold a connection of 5 ghz for a long time.

the 2 ghz range will be a higher speed over a longer distance (this is on 802.11n)

However if you have an 802. 11 a router then the benefits of the 5gzh is capped at 190mbit however, you can hold a stronger signal over a longer distance compared to 802.11n the problem here is that the routers are configured more to computers and personal computers portable therfore so they droped the 802. 11 a band and open until the speed 802.11n short-range can on long distance, is no great loss because your device will automatically change to load of bands on your remote (this can be demonstrated by your router at 5 GHz to lock if it supports doing so)

and you will also notice that your razr connect to band 5 GHz in the present case.

In required short is correct in the statement there is no advantage to 5 GHz running more than 2 GHz.

I hope this explains a little about your problems.

VCPUs how I could create for my VM runs in Fusion 8 Pro.

    Hello

Really just try and see how far you get as processors behave differently.

With virtual hardware 11, you are limited to 16 vCPUs in your guest OS.

I'm not sure what the limit is for vHW12 (Fusion 8), but I do not have to start a little lower and intensify If you need more.

Your guests will share CPU resources between them, this isn't like 4 nested dual CPU VMs need 8 vCPUs in your virtual ESXi.

  • Is it worth to replace a macbook pro with an old mac pro?

    I have a 13 "macbook pro mid 2012, core i5 2.5 ghz and 4 GB of RAM

I plan to replace an old mac pro with intel xeon 3 GHz dual core or quad (maybe from 2009 or 2010) and slowly upgrade by adding more RAM, sound card, and video, etc. (I won't change the logic board)

Computer will be used for the games, but especially for a music with logic studio Pro X (requires OS X El Capitan)

    It's worth?

OK, now you have 2013MBP 13 inches, and you said topic you will use the computer to do some professional work as a music studio (btw, I somehow like music studio, but I could can't work on that to this life) and games.

and now your account to replace it with a Mac Pro, which is a desktop computer, I have to say that they are in any other product, and you are already thinking on this subject, which means that you don't have to wear it around right? So, personally, I recommend the CHANGE! There?

as you say you only have two choices, keep the macbook pro 13 "or replace with the older generation of the Mac Pro, I would say 13-inch MacBook Pro can almost do anything even the latest generation! since low-votage and integrated dual-core process just crappy graph, I don't really think its meet your needs (Audio Studio, game)

So for you its might be interesting to replace it, but you may need to do the following to make the old gen Mac Pro more "usable".

-Add the Ram, I remember its only accepts DDR2 ram (I think, not really sure, I have never had one of that), but get at least 16 GB of this and will be allowed to use the same sound only DDR2, you need measure the cost dedicated to Rams

-Add the USB3.0 card. I didn't say more on this right? USB2 is somehow too crappy for now, if you need measure the cost of the USB3.0 card.

-Probably to replace the hard drive, its massively improve loading speed if you have a fusion drive or an SSD, its depends on your own needs, if you want to do, then you need measure the cost of training you want to buy.

-Replace the graphics card, its origin have something called AMD X 3100 or wat, really, remember its all just too old even glance at her age. and return at the time its totally new, it is not the series of cards that have the intention of game. According to the info you provided, you have need a map rendering and 3D design professional, but a card game, then you may need to replace it with more recently built AMD or Nvidia graphics card in game, try watching the series Geforce and Rasomething. and theres something that should be mentioned is the old Mac Pro motherboard, is somewhat different with PC on hardware support, so that the graphics card must take in charge the Mac EFI boot or something else. I do not see the HD7970 and the GTX7? 0 mac edition, which works perfectly after replacement, but also of boys randomly announcement that they got the PC normal edition of some cards and put it on the Mac Pro, its can't stand not EFI of Mac Pro type so that they can not see a shit only on the screen while the Startup logo should show, but once finished go , its works perfectly. That's what I've heard, I'm bloody tired and sleepy now (PLUS8 GMT) hope so I made an explanation clear outta giant paragraph. But anyway, because they have tested PC edition graphics card also works on Mac, theres a huge amount of graphics card, you can buy and before you buy, if your not sure if this does not work on Mac, just borrow one of it and test it just outside, or directly, so search for Mac guaranteed Mac-compatitable by manufacturing , you need measure the cost of this.

-Possibly a map HiFi sound taking in charge waves and digital output since your doing audio studio, the price increases a breakfast unique price you can buy a car outta that, then choose the one you want and measure the cost.

-the processor might be still allowed to use and the current level of normal performance, so you can just keep it, but if you want to update, of course, a position which cost.

-The time you go to research / purchase parts/physically change/test this baby. as goes XD.

That's essentially all you need to do if you decide to replace your MacBook Pro 13 "with the Mac Pro, the major concern is the cost of parts, other that neither that complex, just to the top, find open port, insertion/replacement material, FACT, USB3 card possible to require a driver, but all you have to do is click NEXT.

OK, good luck pal and if you blow up your House all by improving the Mac Pro, don't tell anyone I gave you these suggestions ok? XDXD

  • I need good reasons to upgrade my Mac Pro 2009.

    Hello

I am a new employee in a company that makes me work on a Mac Pro 2009 for heavy After Effects and first projects.  I propose a new Mac Pro, but company's technical team is PC based, does not understand the world of video production and they don't understand why I can't continue to use what I have.

Here are the specs of my current Mac Pro:

    Mac Pro early 2009

    2x2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    16 GB OF RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB

    2 internal 1 TB HDs

    10.9.3 OSX

Adobe CS5 Production Premium is installed.

    I offer this configuration:

    • Processor: 2.7 GHz 12 - core Intel Xeon E5 processors

with 30 MB of memory cache L3

    • Memory: 64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC (4x16GB)

    • Graphics: Dual AMD over-pants D700 GPU

with 6 GB of GDDR5 VRAM

    • Hard drive inside (OS and Application reader): storage 1 TB PCIe flash

    • External hard drive (disk work): PROMISE Pegasus2 12 to R6 (6 per 2 TB)

    Thunderbolt RAID System 2

    • Disk drive: drive Blu-ray/DVD/CD external (with Media & Toast 11 HD)

    (Available at OtherWorldComputing.com hard drive)

    • Adobe CC 2014

    • First CC

    • After Effects CC

    • Media encode CC

    • SpeedGrade CC

    • Illustrator CC

    • Photoshop CC

(other info: I shoot and edit images from the Canon C100 and 5 d Mark III)

So, I come from a company that wanted to have a quick configuration to keep the animation and the process of change moving as quickly as possible.  The recommended configuration, I have above is the configuration that I used before.

The problem is that when the Ministry of technology (I.S.) for my new job sees the minimum requirements posted by Adobe for EFA and AP, they think that I agree with what I have (side maybe form a updated video card).  I need hard stats and figures that will convince my company to buy a faster Mac Pro.

Can someone share some information that I can use to support my arguments?

Here's the e-mail I have built so far:

Adobe After Effects and first are powerful animation and editing programs if they are given a lot of RAM, card graph multiple GPU and VRAM.  Working in the minimum requirements will get me by, but at a cost VERY slow processing and rendering times.

  • GB c. ' 08 on Mac Pro running

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and see my favorite program of Garageband of iLife ' 08 launch is no longer here.

I bought the latest version 6.0.5 or Garageband v 11 - it doesn't matter - and tried out.  It was hate at first sight, and I called Apple to request a refund - they did.  Now I use GB ' 08 on my PM G4 and duty to make the file and transfer it to the Intel machine to use in my video projects.  The downside is that I don't have to change it as well and must go back to the G4 - although both are running on the screens side by side, so not so hard.

What I'd like to do, is to find a way to emulate the 08. c on the Mac Pro.  Is it humanly possible to work around the problem?  Without being a genius of writing code?  Maybe some 3rd party software to download?

Insofar as the new version of Garageband, I was put off by the dark interface for beginners.  He seemed to be oriented to customer of techo/rock/hiphop, as I use it more for soundtracks of video production and appreciates the clarity of the old program, as well as my ability to work easily with curls with it.

What version of Mac OS X you are running on your Mac Pro?  If you are under Snow leopard, Rosetta environment (if you have it installed with Snow leopard) must be capable of emulating the PowerPC code, so you should be able to install and run GarageBand ' 08.  With Lion or later Rosetta is no longer available.

  • AHT inconsequential error Ram 4MEM (Mac Pro 4.1)

    Hi all.

Something weird going on here. Evil Finder behave sometimes (especially with the readers of WebDAV connected cloud/external) and Photoshop don't... Well well... strange things. So I thought I would check my material with AHT.

I have a Mac Pro 4.1 / 2.93 GHz Quad with 24 GB of RAM: 2 x 4 and 2 x 8 GB. AHT reports a RAM error (4MEM). So I removed all the DIMMS and test began with the two 4 GB ones and AHT returned an error (4MEM) RAM. When I test both 4 GB modules in AHT 1 and 2 housing reports and a mistake. When I test a single module of 4 GB in slot 1 or 2, I get no error 4MEM. So the two modules installed together DIMMS = error. Installed individually don't = "no found prolems.

In addition, 4MEM errors seem incompatible:

    65/4MEM/40000006: 0X799D7C18

    9/4MEM/40000006: 0X799D2998

Then, I tested all of the 24 GB of RAM with MemTest86 CD but he could not find any problems.

Someone has an idea, what happens?

It would be really good if, when an error has been detected, memory modules would all just dropping dead, problems would be easy to isolate. But this isn't the case. Memory problems are difficult to find, they come and go, it is very difficult to 'catch them in the Act. Synthetic patterns of tests memory do not always generate the same failure that made a running system.

But your money Mac Pro tower with processor Xeon processor uses memory RAM of code of error correction. Modules of memory have eight extra in addition to the 64 data bits control bits, as well as your Xeon processor use on all references to memory.

On writing, permutations of parity on the subsets manufactured with care the data bits are stored in the extra bits '' syndrome. '' On reading, a lot of correction and error detection can occur. Mistakes single-bit are detected and hardware corrects these errors in tense cycle of memory, without any software intervention. Error indicators are read from time to time in the background, and the results are recorded by the memory module.

Generally, a benarde error cannot be corrected, so to design this cause your Mac to stop during a panic machine control, core, often detected by multiple processors to prevent the poisoning of your data.

Errors counters can be read by the memory of the about this Mac report:

    chart de.com

your report will be slightly different, but the information it presents is STATIC - for updated information, you must refresh the report or call it again.

Many tests memory of third parties are not designed to run on a Mac with memory error correction. As simple mistakes are corrected in Hardware on-the-fly, they aren't.

In addition, the error correction is used very aggressively at the start. The reasoning is that the nay errors that occur in these seconds must be so severe that the modules must not be used by the system, and their locations will be marked "void".

Any module that is seen as BAD in any situation is really BAD, even if they suffer later. If your Mac was overheating for a different reason, which may explain why the modules tested bad is perhaps the only excuse. If you eliminate overheating, these modules may be ok later.

  • RAM Mac pro 1.1 detects only not all after kernel panic

    Hello

my mac pro 1.1, 2 x 3.0 Ghz quad core, ram 24 GB os x 1.7.5 just had a kernel panic and stop, after being on for 12 plus hours for most sitting idle. When I restarted the mac pro, now he is grateful only 12 GB of ram on a lift and another elevator shows empty, the DIMMs are installed in mounting a 4gb4gb2gb 2 GB, riser board b = 4gb4gb2gb2gb =, are all matched pairs. all the ram has been installed and functional for the 7-8 months without any problem. This is the first time my mac has never stop from a kernel by itself, panic and he never failed to see half of the ram before, in fact it worked great for quite some time so far. I don't know what is happening and I hope someone can help me get this figured out and find a solution to this problem, thanks in advance.

    Bill

    You have a RAM failure.

The Mac Pro features help Error correction Code RAM with hardware integrated with its Xeon processor. The Mac Pro 1.1 uses FBDIMM who get hot and do not have a long life expectancy. Work for 7-8 months does not work tomorrow.

The error correction is used aggressively at the start, and all DIMM found to have errors during the Power-On Self Test brief execution have their slots declared 'empty '. This isn't an anomaly, these modules DIMM turns out to be BAD.

If these modules DIMM is stickers from the seller, you can get replaced them under warranty of the seller.
