MacBook Air, making weird noise

I have never dropped my phone and if she was less than a year old, but it makes clicking noise when moved or typed, even on flat surfaces. What is going on? There aren't any moving parts since it's a MacBook Air. Should I go to the Apple store?

(I have a MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2015) with a processor 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5, and 4 GB of DDR3 1600 MHz memory).

Yes its best recommended that you take it to an apple store for a more thorough inspection. The inspection is free replacement gets expensive parts.

    Hello

(video showing my problem at the end)

I've just switched to Mac a week ago and have a small hiss when my mac is inactive or when I close the lid and reopen immediately (it happens every time, even if I once again, as in the video).

It's less than a week and I installed a few programs and applications at the same time so I don't know which one of them could be the cause or if it's a hardware problem?

I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 on a Macbook air 13 "with the processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz and 512 GB SSD

Programs and applications include chrome, vlc, spotify, Skype, vm ware fusion, memory clean 2, caffeine, anytrans, google keep and SecureDownloadManager

Note: my friend has bought exactly the same Mac with i5 processor and has EXACTLY the same programs and applications (unless vmware fusion, which does not work when I hear the noise and the memory clean 2, I tried to quit smoking to see if the noise is still there and there was...)

Note 2: I download the free version of Soundbunny to control the rendering of all applications, all mute mets and he always made the sound noise

Note 3: If I lower the volume, the sound is lower is not hardware related (I found a lot of people complain about macbook pro noise CPU in my research to track down that noise)

Here is a video of the noise:

Unable to say a video, but it could be a hardware problem.

If the computer is new you should take it back to apple.

  • My iPhone 6 guard making his power on and off loading when it is connected with the MacBook Air early 2015

Hi Please help me. My iPhone 6 retains what load noise when connected with my MacBook Air early 2015. It makes me crazy! I tried with several real Apple's USB cables, update to the latest iOS (phone and MacBook), updated the iTunes, clean the orifices, everything! I just got this MacBook on the Apple store. Please help me! Thanks in advance!

    Hi mikaelaridz,

I understand that you just bought a MacBook Air in an Apple store, and when you plug your iPhone 6 in it, you are to hear a sound indicating that the connection does not work.  If your MacBook Air has a port USB - C, you must use the USB - C for Lightning cable to connect your iPhone.

Using the USB - C port and adapters on your MacBook (retina, 12 inch, early 2015) and later

    Port USB - C

USB - C is an industry standard generation that allows to load and transfer of video data - while a simple connector. Your MacBook comes with a USB - C port:

    Through this port, you can:

    • Charge your MacBook.
    • Power output.
    • Transfer data between your MacBook and other devices.
    • Connect the video output such as HDMI, VGA and DisplayPort.
    • Connect to other technologies, such as Ethernet.

Port USB - C on your MacBook supports data transfer speeds to up to 5 Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 1).

USB - C for Lightning cable

Apple USB-C for Lightning cable allows you to connect any device equipped with a connector of lightning with your MacBook. It provides data transfer and power of lighting fixtures. For example, you can use this cable to connect your MacBook to these devices:

    • iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
    • Magic Mouse 2
    • Magic keyboard
    • The Magic Trackpad 2

You can also load these devices without using your MacBook by connecting to the C - USB to the lightning cable and plug the cable of the USB - C 29W power adapter.

USB - C for Lightning cable supports data transfer at up to 5 Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 1).

This cable requires no power to operate. However, devices that you plug into it could draw power from your MacBook, you should unplug it when you're not using it.

If this isn't the issue, then I suggest taking your new MacBook Air and iPhone at the Apple Storewhere you bought it.  A genius can inspect your computer for you, there is no hardware problems and staff can help you set up.  Here's how Contact Apple and make an appointment.

    Take care

  • MacBook air water damage recovery of data flash storage of air from macbook to macbook pro retina

Last week, I spilled water on my macbook air that extinguishes immediately after that.
It's been a week that I let it dry without attempting to start.

Unfortunetaly, I did have a backup for 2 weeks, (of course bad luck should come at the wrong time), and I really need to get my data from the flash ssd drive.

I thought to transfer the player of Flash ssd of the macbook air to a macbook pro retina and retrieve the data since the macbook pro retina by making a backup. Would this work? This would not damage the macbook pro retina?

I have a macbook air early 2014, the macbook pro retina is also the same year.

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Best regards.

You'd better using an external enclosure of the MacBook Air SSD rather than MacBook Pro.

  • Video of the MacBook Air to accuse by unplugged (current running off battery)

Hello. I have a Macbook Air from 2012. The Macbook works perfectly fine when it is plugged, but the minute I unplug the unit, some video that I might be streaming suddenly freezes, even if sometimes the audio is not yet. Weird. The battery works, even if it runs in less than an hour. It has a cycle of 657 counter. The battery health is diagnosed as being 'good '. Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it?

    Thank you.

Apparently, the MacBook Air is electric rationing of the battery through the

all of the GPU, CPU, free wireless internet, open, applications and requirements

Mac OS x itself; so many invisible things are underway in the background.

Have you looked into the specifications of profile of electrical system and battery

where the status of the battery is spelled in milli-ampere-hour charge remaining

    and expected full load capacity?

I imagine that the battery can be replaced; also if SSD drive

is full of stored content, the effort it takes the system to find the space

for swap files and read/write then in the storage disk, is your MB/Air tax.

Maybe an upgrade of the hard drive (SSD) ability is something to check

in (if it is possible to upgrade) or just be sure to not have much stored on board.

A replacement may be obtained from the macsales, OWC, among others.

Also make sure that the MagSafe connectors are clean and free of debris on both sides

the AC adapter and the DC-in Board (on the computer).

  • Poor quality of its MacBook Air

Recently I noticed quality bad speaker on the left speaker on my MacBook Air 13.3 (early 2015).

The sound is like white noise whenever I play loud music on my computer but I can only hear it when the bass is low or the highs are high, for example, whenever listening to someone talking, "s" sounds are white noise.

I usually clean my computer (keyboard, trackpad, etc.) with a damp cloth. Water could go in the left speaker, and that's why he sounds bad?

In addition, my computer is a little crack. Could that also change the quality of the left speaker?

I own a MacBook Air 13 inch and there is a problem with my screen, I see the number of consecutive horizontal lines making a rectangle and blocking my view. This is a hardware problem and cannot be repaired by a professional. The worst thing is, my MacBook isn't in its warranty period. Does anyone know about how much will it cost me?

  • MacBook Air won't turn on.

    Hello

I have a MacBook Air, which is about 1.5 years old, without any problem so far.  He began with a stop at random in the login screen.  When the computer reboots, it turned on for a few seconds then turns off.  He didn't say 'Stop' or something like that, it happened just empty.  He has been in charge for some time, and the charging light lights up on the plug that fits into the device (not on the device itself).  He won't answer any what whatsoever, no noise or anything that happens.

I tried they hit to reset the SMC.

Any other ideas?  It seems battery related in the way stop at random, then restarted just for a few seconds, but I don't know what else to try.  Obviously, on this model battery is not accessible.

    Thanks for any help.

Seems you did something good troubleshooting already. Is nothing else plugged in? Just the power cord? Have recently changed anything by getting new hardware or installing software?

Try to hold the power for 10 seconds, then press the button once more and see if the computer turns on.

At this point, if none of this helped, maybe need to an Apple Store and see what they say.

  • MacBook Air SMC 2013 problem

    Hi all

I have a problem with my macbook air 6,2.

The first question concerned the did ' computer t lit.

The SMC reset and things did ordinary ' t help.

I took down the bottom of the case and plugged the battery cable. After that when I plugged in the charger, the computer is activated immediately.

I have taken over the case and restarted the computer, the computer was dead as before.

I ran a hardware diagnostic test and obtained the PPT001 (drums), PFM001 (MSC) and NDC001 (webcam - it's weird because I can use the camera).

Now I turn on the computer without the bottom of the case, but the fans are running high etc..

The adapter led is not lighting, and when I push the SHIFT, ctrl + alt the computer immediately turns off.

Someone at - it an idea of what I can do with this SMC problem?

Make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store for the service. If you need a Apple Store - find a store - Apple.

  • My macbook air keeps overheating also theres crumbs under key could someone clean it up?

Hey, I have a few questions? My macbook air keeps overheating and the fan keeps making a sound of overheating, and it will not stop (I downloaded an application that controls the fan and also cool that it can get custody and it helps as long as he can but not much). Also theres crumbs and dirt under my keys could someone fix/clean? How much cost these (separately)? And how long would it take? Thank you

On the issue of heat, try a SMC reset:

If no success, run an Apple Hardware Test:

Please delete "Little Snitch" and see if the panic stop.

Any third party software that is not installed on the App Store or by drag-and - drop in the Applications folder and uninstall by drag - move to the trash, is a modification of the system.

Whenever you delete changes to the system, they must be eliminated completely, and the only way to do this is to use the uninstall tool, if any, provided by the developers, or follow their instructions. If the software has been removed incompletely, you may redownload or reinstall even to finish the job.

I never install modifications of the system myself, and except as stated in this comment, I do not know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find this information.

Here are some general guidelines to help you get started. Suppose you want to remove the so-called "BrickMyMac" (a hypothetical example). First of all, menu using the product, check if there is one, for instructions. Not finding here, look at the Web site, let's say www.brickmymac.com. (Maybe it's not the name real site, if necessary, search the Web for the name of the product). If you don't find anything on the Web site or in your search, contact the developer. While you are waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be a request here as "Uninstall BrickMyMac." If this is not the case, open "BrickMyMac.pkg" and look for an uninstall button. The uninstall program can also accessible by clicking on the button customize, when one exists.

Back up all data before making any changes.

Generally, you will need to restart the computer in order to perform an uninstall. Until you do this, there may be no effect, or the unpredictable effects.

If you can't remove the software in any other way, you will have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third party software, unless you're sure you know how to uninstall in the contrary case, it can create problems which are very difficult to solve.

Try to remove the complex system of changes by hunting for files by name, often will not work and can make the problem worse. The same goes for 'utilities' as the 'AppCleaner"designed to remove software.

  • MacBook air only 8 months. Fan of work strongly and draining the battery. Do you have any troubleshooting. Pls help.

My Macbook Air is only 8 months old. I only use it for word processing and surfing the internet. Yesterday, it started to make a noise maybe the fan. I've done all the troubleshooting steps described in Apple and to other useful sites, but nothing helped. Is it still fixable? What could be wrong?  Is this laptop still under vices? Please help as soon as possible. Thank you.

This laptop is still under warranty.

It may be a problem with the fan, but it can also be a problem of some adware or other infections.

It would be useful to find when you download the application Etrecheck of etrecheck.com well known information

It produces a list, you can share it to the clipoard and paste here.
