MacBook air suddenly slowed the navigation on all browsers

Hello
My macbook suddenly idle air navigation on all browsers over the last two days. I checked for viruses, malware and did a disk cleanup. But that did not help. It is not a DNS problem. I checked the internet speed, and it is optimal. I borrowed another macbook air and compared it simultaneously on the same wireless connection and my macbook air is on all fours. FileValut is not enabled. I'm on El captain. What else could be the problem? Any help, guidance would be much appreciated.

Unless you're 'home sharing', which he does not seem like you are, two libraries (macbook and iMac) are distinct, so a change does not affect the other.  Best way to test would be to remove a few songs you can download easily and see if it changes.  But I don't think it will be a problem.

  • MacBook Air (old 2009) the Lion OS upgrade

I have an old Macbook Air 2009 running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.  I also have a Macbook Pro, who ran the Mavericks when buying, but I've updated free in Yosemite.

I would like to know if I can rank up to my old Macbook air Lion to the Mavericks.  If not, I have a Snow Leopard drive, should I switch to that instead or it would be wiser to stick to Lion?

If you are satisfied with the MacBook Air running 10.7 performance upgrade 10.8 ( Mt Lion) are at the Apple Web site. I have provided the link. Mavericks (10.9) has a lot of memory more 10.7 and 10.8 were probably not be a good idea to upgrade to. Snow Leopard was 10.6 so would be going backwards. If your computer is too slow with 10.7 then back to 10.6, which is even less destitute of resources that 10.7 is would be a good choice. The thing to remember is that Apple is no longer provides updates for older versions of the operating system which make the computer more vulnerable to security problems.

I sent the diagnostic and data use to Apple, but I don't remember what it was. Now I'm checking Console and I see a panic report related to the kernel. What is going on? It is a software problem? I have a Time Machine backup to the case where.

    Hi aliendays,

I understand that you had a kernel panic on your Mac and are eager to find out what caused it.   Without a little more information since the report of panic or knowing what you found in the Console application, I can't really tell you.  However, I can give you some information here about the kernel panics and some troubleshooting steps to overcome them.  You're already the most important step in keeping your Mac backed up with Time Machine.

Start inSafe Mode and see if the problem persists?

    Restart now ' shift '.

(Wait to take more time to start in this way because it runs a check of directory first.)

Also give it some time after the start because it is running maintenance routines at the beginning.

  • new macbook air suddenly after locked efi connecting to internet

Bought a macbook air so I could run the programs I have on my old macbook pro bootable backup.  Works well, but when I finished the ny project I signed up on the internet for send it offshore and left the computer for a second.  .. .IM don't know what happened... But when I came back in the room, he was stuck on a weird screen and when I tried to start near the top of my drive the EFI lock screen has appeared.

So my question is, could the lock to the internal hard drive hit if I was using an external drive to go online? Or would it be the lock for my old laptop that caused his release since this disc is a copy of the one I lost?  I used the disc quite a bit since then so I don't know why he would suddenly do this but I do not think that I was using this partition of car b wecause I prefer the partition with an older version of mac os x, which, for some reason, would not work to start this laptop. How should I do?

    Hi there Vulpine acid,

Looks like you are working offline and it seems that as soon as you connected to the internet your computer was locked with a passcode of the firmware. Which tells me that the MacBook Air may have been lost with iCloud remote mode if it looked like this:

    Find my Mac

Find my Mac allows you to lock your Mac, it also prevents your Mac to start by defining a firmware password. As soon as he receives the iCloud lock statement, your Mac screen a lock who has four to six empty fields.

To unlock your Mac, enter the code that you created when you locked your Mac on the site to find my Mac.

From: use a password of the firmware on your Mac

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204455

There is a section in the article that talks about her taking a Genius bar for an appointment if you forgot the password, but it should be than the original purchase receipt:

If you have forgotten your password for the firmware

If you don't remember the set password using the firmware password utility or find my Mac, schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store or Apple authorized service provider. Bring your proof of purchase (invoice or original receipt) with you. If you plan to visit an Apple retail store, make a reservation (available only in some countries).

You may need to reach out to the person, you bought the computer to the access code.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support,

    All the best.

  • MacBook Air incredibly slow

My MacBook Air has recently become extremely slow with text behind my typing, windows taking ages to open and freezing programs regularly. It seems even affect my internet speed but I don't know if it's possible? Chrome now takes some time to load the sites, and even Google takes a little longer to suggest research or results.

The mac is old enough (2010 with a new logic board and the screen in 2011) and the battery life is quite short, but I need it to last about 10 months. It's slow when I use it without the charger and slower when its battery is low: it is more likely to operate normally when charging but still more often sluggish. Last week, the disk was almost full, so I deleted about 25 GB of files. I'm now 27GB to 120 GB free and he seems not to have made a difference in the speed of market - I intend to have a more thorough sort on my files in a few weeks but it is frustratingly slow at times, the prospect of a day which is not a good time!

I've tempted by the promises made CleanMyMac but was dissuaded by some threads here - someone has any suggestions, please?

    Hello

Do not install CleanMyMac. It can do more harm than good.

It would be easier solve problems for you if you have downloaded and run Etrecheckthen copy and pasted the results in your response here.

No personal data is shared from an EtreCheck report. That should reveal what causes your Mac run so slow.

  • MacBook Air stuck in the installation during the upgrade to windows 7 to 8

I have windows 7 installed on my macbook air and today I got windows 8 pro upgrade for upgrading my macbook air to windows 8 and made sure I had bootcamp 5 installed. the first time I tried to install it went well until I got to the section where it says customize when you start windows 8 and none of my keys or trackpad work in it, I can't get past the section even pressing on enter. the second time I tried to install trackpad ++ is supposed to be the best driver to trackpad for windows 7 and 8 and thought that could make me past the Customize step and who does not. and I went as far to plug my usb wireless mouse that works with windows 7 and tried at my friends House who has windows 8 and y and the custom still mouse appear.  What should I do to get my trackpad work / what can I do to get past the custom screen. If I turn off my macbook air and then when I restart it says windows 8 installation failed, return to the original windows operating system (windows 8)

    (the preferences screen)

-p.s. I write this on another computer and my mac is a macbook air mid 2013 with all installed bootcamp drivers

This seems to be a known issue with trackpad Apple for Windows drivers and apparently only for Air. It is recommended to plug in a USB mouse, go into Device Manager and disable the devices on trackpad (Apple Multitouch and Apple Multitouch mouse under Interface devices), install the updates, restart the PC and then re-enable these devices. (then you can detach the USB mouse).

  • MacBook air crashes after the release of sleep since the upgrade of the sierra

Began to notice that since I upgraded my macbook air 2015 to sierra, system crashes. The trigger is always when I wake the sleep system (whether it is by opening cover or press a key). Issue is intermittent and may not be reproduced every time. I contacted apple support and they recommended resetting the SMC (ctrl + shift + cmd) but that didn't help either. I also did a check of filesystem (fsck-fy) and which seems to be very well so.

I noticed others seem to be faced with similar problems and a common theme that I noticed was that both we seem to have an installed tardisk. Not sure if this could be a factor?

While it is not any loss of data, the question is certainly annoying and disruptive to work.

The same question was observed at about 7 times since the update of the sierra. Containing the report of Etrecheck to the breast

  • About the hardware warranty for macbook air, purchased through the education online store

Hi I bought a macbook air yesterday by UK online education store, but when I check the warranty on the equipment, I find that it is only one year instead of 3 years, when the policy changed?

The three-year warranty is an extra cost item.

The one year warranty is standard warranty.

  • MacBook Air cannot find the printer wireless

My MacBook Air cannot 'see' my wireless printer and will print when connected by USB.  I lived every suggestion troubleshooting support site HP could offer and they sent me here.  I don't think there is a problem with the printer or the network because I can print my husband very well from my phone or MacBook Air.  I can't find the settings on his computer that are different from those settings on mine, and we are both running iOS 10.11.4.  I would like to advice or suggestions.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Can I reset my MacBook Air and restore the backup I made before to reduce others' storage space?

    Hello

so I have the 126 GB MacBook Air. My problem is that the other takes 87 GB!

So can I reset my laptop and restore the backup later like you do with iPhones to reduce the "other"?

I guess this could work, but I'm afraid something away...

I hope that there is someone who can help me!

    Thank you!

There is nothing necessarily wrong with 'other' as long it's documents, etc. that you need.

Make a backup and a restore just grow what you have now. I would not recommend it.

If you don't think the number is correct you can reindex to see if that changes it: Spotlight: how to re - index folders or volumes - Apple Support
