MacBook keys exhaust

I have a Macbook Air from 2012 and press SPACEBAR, E and N keys are inside. I can see the thread of copper under the key. Is this a problem for someone else and Apple corrects this or can it be solved at all? If reasonable price I'll pay to have these keys replaced but it seems that this is a MFG. deliver not use or abuse on my part. You can see in the photo, what is the question.

My button "A" on my mid-2012 13 inch Air is in the same condition as your 'E' and my 'E' key is just beginning to show wear. I never felt like something on this topic yet, but if/when I do I'll probably take it to my authorized local Service provider. There are sources online of spare keys and instructions as another option. An example (not a personal recommendation I've not used): http://www.replacementlaptopkeys.com/apple-macbook-air-keyboard-key-13-mid-2012-2015 /

  • New Macbook-keys stick. Not close to apple store

    Hello

I have the new Macbook and some of the keys are sticking. I saw that other people are having the same problem but the solution for them was to go to the apple store and have their computer out to be fixed. However, I am currently overseas in a country without an apple store. Anyone know of any alternative option I can try to take off my keys? Thanks in advance!

    Hi blpmacneill,

I understand that you have a new MacBook with a few sticky keys and you are not currently in the country where the computer was purchased.  If there is no Apple stores in your area there may be a service provider authorized Apple.  Click on the link to locate a.  A temporary solution would be to use a bluetooth keyboard, or a wired keyboard until you can return to the place where the computer was purchased for repair.

    Take care

  • Assigning banks keyboard patches

I can't find the steps to associate patches with banks of programs of my physical keyboard. I would use the number of the Bank (for example, D001) to remind a patch quickly without touching the Macbook keys. I am able to assign a switch to the foot to increment a patch, but then I must go in sequential order to play different patches that would be difficult at a concert. I use Korg Krome and MainStage 3. Thanks for the help!

Select the patch in the patch list. Look in the settings of patch > attributes. You will find the Bank and select patch. Make sure that they are audited, and set numbers.

  • Go to bed before exhausted battery MacBook Pro retina (mid-2012)

I hope that someone in the community can help with this question.

I have a MacBook Pro (mid-2012) with a battery 3.2 old Yes and less than 300 cycles. I think the battery is depleting faster (which is natural after 3.2 years) but benchmarking between percentage left and the unit goes into mode 'sleep' is meaningless. For example, tonight the battery came into sleep mode with 16% left on the screen - sound almost if the MacBook thought it was exhausted.  I have heard do NOT need calibration for that MacBook Pro, but it feels like it does.  Which leaves me feeling very concerned on what continues.

    Things I've tried so far:

    1. full reset SMC and General reboots.

    2. a full discharge and recharge (attempted calibration despite says that's not necessary).

3 using the activity monitor to see if something is sucking energy unduly.  (Which there isn't, and everything seems normal).

4 using the battery health app to look at the State of the battery - said its 87% in good health and no calls for service or replacement.  ('Normal' status).

Anything related or apparently wrong - but certainly go faster down and switch mode 'sleep' around 16 to 19%.

All the words of wisdom of the community?

    Thanks in advance.

    Brad.

A full release just the risk damage to your battery. Are you sure that the Mac is not just go to sleep as it was designed to do? Try to reset your default energy-saving preferences. If that does not resolve the problem, maybe it's a problem with the operating system, in which case you should try to reinstall OS X by pressing down the command key and the R key as soon as you see the Apple logo at the start of your computer to the top and then clicking "reinstall Mac OS X" and following the on-screen instructions.

I hope you find this information useful.

    Best regards

    Hi iambjan,

I understand that your MacBook Pro has been lost by the intermediary of find my Mac mode. Fortunately, you can go to the off mode lost through the steps described below.

  • A few Macbook keyboard keys do not work

    Hello

I have the Macbook with OSX El Captian 2012 model running. The keys f, g, h, j, k, l will not work. Initially, when I hit these keys several times, they used to work, but now they do not completely work. AHT test ran and it is said that there is no hardware problem. I hit the option 5 times, but it would not have helped either. I noticed when allegedly struck ' key and hold, f - l keys work. Please help me solve this problem. Replacement of keyboard looks expensive.

    Kind regards

    Hey John,

Thank you for being a part of the communities of Apple Support.

It appears from your message that a line of F to L keys do not work correctly on your MacBook Pro. What I would like to, it's please use the keyboard on your Mac Viewer to verify that the keys are not currently recognized on your Mac:

OS X El Capitan: use the keyboard Viewer

If the problem persists, please reset your memory NVRAM-How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac- and report with your findings.

    See you soon.

  • Macbook Pro keys are replaceable?

    Hello Discussions Macbook Pro,

I was wondering if it was possible to replace the keys on a MBP. I was thinking to switch to the DVORAK keyboard layout, because it is not officially supported by Apple. An Apple specialist Store informed me that the keys on the keyboard, Apple Magic (old and new) can not be replaced. I know it is possible to buy a skin for the key to change, but I would prefer to keep the same key sensation that made me use an Apple keyboard even when I had a Windows/Linux PC.

    Thank you ~ Bryce

How to address the need to pressure for keys? I've adjusted it 2 years ago when I got my Macbook, but I forgot how. In my opinion, only a touch of F has been used.

I don't know what you are referring. You can't 'adjust the need to pressure for the keys. The keyboard is what it is. The key must be pressed far enough for electric contact in key switches. The keys are not adjustable in this way.
