• MacBook Pro 2014 - failure of the graphics card for the 2nd time in 2 years - no guarantee

  Hi all

  end of 2014, I bought a new 13 inch Retina Display MacBook Pro mid 2014 model (A1502, EMC2875). A few months later, the graphics card has failed - no obvious reason. Apple replaced. Now, the graphics card has not yet. Still, the mac worked perfectly well (no overheating of the noise, nothing) and all of a sudden - no understandable reason or external actions, the graphics card has failed. Unfortunately, I do not have a guarantee of more. At least, I can access my documents by connecting two Macs, so I hope that the material is not affected.

  My model (1502) apparently only has a single integrated graphics processor.

  My questions:

  • After some research, I discovered that Apple used to have these problems with the 2011 edition. They have implemented a replacement program. Does anyone know sth on this subject?
  • What graphics card would you recommend? How much such a graphics card? Where could I buy a cheap?

  Of course, I don't want to reuse the same type - guess I don't have to explain how @* #&! I'm after two times the same problem within two years after the purchase of a brand new MacBook Pro...

  I would appreciate any recommendations and links!

  -As you say, your Mac model uses the graphics processor integrated in the CPU chip. So, there are ios no replacement possible. The CPU is soldered to the logic board

  -The problem with the 2011 MacBook Pro was with the discreet Nvidia, not the graphics unit integrated in the CPU graphics unit.

  Hi, can the fans inside the Macbook Pro upgrade 2014? I game on my mac and also to use some applications requiring a power of good treatment. These are the heat of my laptop a lot and therefore uncomfortable to lay my hands on. I wanted to improve the cooling on my mac.

  There is no way to upgrade the fans.  If you were to replace the fans it would be exactly the same unit.

  If you run games or applications processor it will warm up.

  Different machines have different processors, different graphics cards, all soldered to logic board - not upgradable - point-of-sale only.  This can make a difference in how hot they are.

  Some machines a discreet and Integrated GPU, some only a single graphics card.

  In addition to third-party fan contol the only applications user would be to try to reset the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964 to see if there is a difference.

  Audio worked absolutely the facility for a year or two. Just recently the speakers and headphone stopped working and SPDIF red light of the headset jack is now constantly lit (did not use to be informed in all). Maybe happened as a side effect of windows update, update of apple or software update or demand of the NVIDIA driver installation.

  What audio drivers should I have installed Bootcamp software support for MBP mid 2014? Real audio hardware is present on this MBP - Apple card is vague on this point?

  When scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager the same driver is always automatically reinstalled. There is no option to delete this. The driver update has no effect. The device is shown as working properly. There is no errors and there are devices of reading for the speakers, headphones and SPDIF, but no audio exited actually.

  There was also a Microsoft device system speaker (don't download reinstalled during the analysis of new equipment) and nvidia audio drivers (for audio output HDMI).

  An additional symptom - connect headset does not show the helmet as playback device as a playback device connected as I expect.

  Is it possible the Bootcamp software support has failed to reinstall the audio drivers correctly? Can I get a feedback or a software Bootcamp Support log to see what's happening?

  A Windows somehow got locked in a SPDIF output? This cannot be a purely material error as MacOS still work very well?

  Other measures to diagnose this problem?

  A few steps I've tried without success:

  • Check all volume and mix parameters
  • Roll back these recent software installations
  • Watching installed the drivers in Device Manager - all audio devices are shown as working properly analyze, because material changes do not find any additional sound hardware to configure. Update driver drivers online research is not to find an updated driver.
  • Using an another USB audio device - this device works great
  • Reboot under Macos - built in speakers very well work
  • Restart in SafeMode the Windows - audio device does not appear to be installed (maybe the driver no is not supported in safe mode).
  • Reset the NVRAM (restart with option commmand PR)
  • Reset the controller of the SCM
  • Run the restore of the system - restore points fail to restore with the exception of a few of the latter that does not solve the problem
  • Uninstalling all audio drivers and re-run bootcamp support software setup.exe (the older version of download 5.1.5640 which seems to be the only one who supports my hardware/windows 7 x 64 combo)
  • Back the NVIDIA driver to the version provided with the support of bootcamp software
  • Intel chipset installers running provided with the support of bootcamp software
  • Assistant Configuration boot camp running on Mac OS to get the latest drivers - fails because does not support my combination of material and win7 x 64 as documented on Apple support pages
  • Not running Apple Software update - no update is available for all drivers.
  • Don't run Windows update - no update is available for all drivers

  If the red light goes out in OS x but not in Windows, it seems to be the State of the combined analogue/digital port stored in the Windows registry. On W7 on a 2013 rMBP (he has the card nVidia 750 m), this is what you should see your Audio devices.

  I shoot with a professional 3 Ghost and wondering how to see 4 k on the mac (Macbook Pro retina 15', mi 2014) and love at first sight?  Do I need to calibrate the screen?  Or can someone tell me best practices for videographers again using Final Cut.  I know I have a lot to learn.  I just spent iMovie to Final Cut and that's just for real estate professionals.   There has been a lot of complaints of not being able to use the resolution full screen on 3 monitors of party, who has worked in El Capitan.  I've seen all the problems such as you report.

  However, I guess the graphics driver passed under changes in the Sierra, and it is possible, that this is yet another side effect.

  So my 2 year old Macbook Pro (retina) does not load when it is plugged in - spite, projecting the orange light. I have a battery (20%) and it is reduced whenever I use it and will be soon drained.

  Some of the things I've tried

  -Reset SMC - tried but no change after

  -When I use the mac when it is plugged in the battery icon in the top bar done see the support - but there is no increase in % of the battery. Continuous use it starts to fall.

  -During use (and what battery is plugged) - I checked the report system (about this Mac section) - in the energy sector - it is said does not charge (despite being connected, the orange light and the symbol in the top bar)

  What do you think guys that it is? MLB? Battery?

  What I have to replace or can it be fixed?

  If you have the Apple store, take the machine evaluation.  There is no charge for this, but you need an appointment.   The first thing I would check would be the cable.  You have another machine to test this with.

I have a MacBook Pro (which I love).  The other day I went to open my "Photos" application and the home page came.  I know that sometimes there are major updates if this happens.  I clicked on the button "get started" and since then he's stuck with the circling icon on the home page (don't know what it's technical term is).  I am to tinkle on the 'take a quick tour' and see the tower but other while he's stuck and it's been almost 3 days.  I have lots of pictures on my macbook and was not able to make a good backup for several months.  I'm worried that I lost all my photos.

  I had problems with my 13 inch retina Macbook pro (bought in March 2015, Yosemite running) for a few months. Just before Christmas, he had massive 'kernel panic' mistakes off and turns not again. Envoy than inside and they replaced the logic board. Everything is OK until last week, during navigation, laptop has frozen and closed. When the computer reboots, the apple symbol appears but boot would not end. Sent him again, and he must have the replaced SSD (it wouldn't remove to do a delete/reinstall of the operating system). Since then, it froze and shut down twice. The last time, on reboot, I got an error message saying that it had put back on after an error. The error log is below. Any idea what the problem might be?   You may be dealing with a hardware failure, but even if so, you must get rid of the 'Sophos '.

  Please remove the Sophos product by following the instructions on this page, so this one, if any. If you have a different version, the procedure may be different.

  Back up all data before making any changes. Never install a software "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" again.

  SMC - Reset

  -Check and restore disk

  -Repair disk permissions - at one point he said there is a mistake and I had to repair disc I fixed it and the problem continues to persist

  -Tried to start in SafeMode but does not (same problem apple logo and freezing wheel spinner)

  It does not appear to complete successfully?

  Try to repair the disk again. Report any error. Also in disk utility SMART status is listed as verified?

• Can't install Creative Cloud Installer on my new macbook pro 2014.

  I just bought a top of the line 15 macbook pro today and when trying to install creative cloud, it keeps popping up with this message.

  So I download a new one and try again... and it keeps giving me the same answer.

  Try also to install CS6 with my installation disc, but also, I get this error:

  "We met the following problems.

  Setup could not initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. »

  I then click on the link and Adobe Support Advisor is no longer available.

• Connection problem with the second monitor, macbook pro 2014, OSX El Capitan

  There are a few threads describing problems with two monitors, but I have not found a match.

  I like for the operating system ask login password once the lid is closed, no matter how much time has passed (even for a moment). Also, I work with a dual monitor. However, when my macbook is plugged into the monitor and I close the lid, the macbook don't disconnect but spends just primary monitors. Understand that this could be a feature and not a bug, I tried to unplug the monitor before closing the lid. But the OS seems not to realize that the monitor has been disconnected, and when I close the lid he didn't ask me for my password once that I reopen it. Does it also if I wait a bit (i.e. one minute) after disconnecting the monitor, but not if I wait a while (or 15 minutes), well that I've not enough highlighted how long is necessary so that it starts locking on my closing the lid. He does it with different monitors, so I doubt that it depends on the particular monitor. In both cases, I used the HDMI port.

  This is quite annoying, because I need to be able to disconnect safely in a short period of time, and I was not able to find a workaround on mine. Everyone knows this? Thank you for any help or advice.

• MacBook pro 2014 randomly turns off, do not dΘmarre, unless the power button is held down.

  Seems to happen whenever itunes is running.  No warning whatsover, the screen goes black and the music stops.  The macbook turn then back unless the power button is held down for more than 10 seconds.
  ITunes only worked, it wasn't overheating or anything.

  Any ideas?

• Pairing Bluetooth or transfer of work between iPhone 6s and Macbook Pro 2014
