  I recently purchased VMWare Workstation 7 and installed a new system (N) (32) Windows 7 on Vista Ultimate ultimate (32) host.

  Please try the mentioned below as follows:

  1. Click the Start button, select Control Panel, click System and security, and then click Power Options.
  2. On the select a power plan page, click on change settings for the plan for the plan you want to change.
  3. The parameters of change for the plan of the page, click on change advanced power settings.
  4. On the Advanced Settings tab, expand sleep, expand allow hybrid sleep and select IT.
  5. Under the Advanced Settings tab, expand sleep, Allow wake timers, select activate.
  6. Under the Advanced Settings tab, expand USB settings, under USB settings USB selective suspend settings, select Enable.
  7. Select apply then OK to save the changes.

  Check if the above steps work and that it respond.

  Note that the condition of 'Wake computer' relies on the BIOS clock to wake the computer, the computer must support this (do most desktop computers), and the option must be enabled in BIOS power options.  When you enable the option in the BIOS do not allow the timer to all zeros, enter a manual setting any or although the BIOS is unable to activate the feature, Windows will overwrite the timer with the correct date & time when you started the scheduled task.

  Note that a computer into hibernation do not wake to run a scheduled task.

Change the settings for my current power mode and try a different feeding regime (diagrams of Windows XP default power and power management, I created) only solves the problem for 2 days at most. I also tried to change the settings for the other power plans mentioned, and yet once again, the problem was only set for two days at the most. I also tried turning off my computer, restarting my computer, recording Powercfg /Restore Default policies in Run, saving sfc/scannow in Run, and again, I got the same result. Reset and power cycling the modem cable is not helped either. To help you better understand the problem, for example, if I had the date set for the screensaver set to 1 minute, the time for the monitor to turn off set to 2 minutes and time for your computer set to 3 minutes, the screen saver activate after 1 minute, the monitor turns off after 2 minutes, but the computer would not sleep mode after 3 minutes , even after an hour or more.   If it is a stand-alone host, not in a HA cluster, you can set options for start/stop. Go to the Configuration tab on the host computer and the virtual machine start/stop.  In the upper right corner, click the properties link.
