What is a torrent file and and is? is it safe to download and install it on my PC?

    Hello foxtrait,

Torrent is a small file (around), which contains all the information needed to download a file for that torrent was made. This means that it contains names of files, their sizes, where to download and so on. You can get torrents for almost anything on a lot of websites and torrent search engines.

Torrent is the most popular way to download large files, including movies and games (remember legality of downloading).

If you ask me if it is safe, it depends on the source it comes from. All torrents come from different sources.

You will need a torrent client to use torrents. I suggest that you use your favorite search engine and look for customers if you want to install it.

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

No registration necessary data and re - install Windows 7 might be the best option, but here are a
    few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer or an external hard drive enclosure, then
saving them. Do this using several methods to redundantly. Of course, a real computer
Shop or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
is CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it.
then on the tab Applications - lower right - new task - the type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is
accessible by tapping F8 as you start several times.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss
base. That there is no information on a black screen as there is just a blue screen
adds to the difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect.
You can try a google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these
cover a wide field of efforts.

Here's a video of one of them.

  • Safe icon Downloads: suggestions on safe sites for this?

As a freelance writer, I change desktop standard icons (photo looking for standard folder) for colorful images, often a link with the content of the file, to help me stay organized.   However, I'm always afraid to download 'free' icon files that are available on the Internet.

Suggestions of 'safe' or 'safer' places/sites for download image icon for Vista files?   Although my question may seem trivial, it is very important to me and my work.

    Thank you very much.

    Terib

We do not have a list of safe icon download sites - I never have them provided to anyone before.  All I can say is to download the file icon on your desktop, then use your security or the AV software to scan the file before installing it.  I usually try www.tucows.com and www.download.com and products they carry have always proved safe (but this is not to say they're all - you take a risk when you use 3rd party software).  Create a retore point until you do the installation you can return to him in case the program is causing problems.  I recommend and download and install the free files all the time - it's a question to revisit the website to see if there is major and not just slapped together — and the first entries in the search engines (like Google or Bing) are relatively safe because they have been consulted so many times if there is a problem, it would have already become common public and/or deleted.

The decision and the risk is yours.  We cannot help you here.  Just scan the files before installation and the system after the installation and you will have made the best you can to protect yourself.  Just because they are free does not make them any more or less of a risk - many free programs are perfectly fine to use (for example, Microsoft Security Essentials).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
