    Hello

I put t know what HARD drive chassis you re meaning precisely because the HARD drive in my A210 notebook can not find in any media
It s just connected to the connectors in the HARD drive Bay.

  • Satellite L500-128 using recovery on the new (larger) HARD drive discs

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba L500-128, the original 320 GB hard drive is just too small and I would like to avoid buying an external hard drive (for backup purposes), because in my experience, they are just rubbish and I want that all my data on the laptop.

I wanted to buy a new hard drive 1 tb (maybe 2) put into it, I guess it is equipped to deal with, (Please someone correct me if they know otherwise) with 4 GB of ram...

In any case I am really wondered, whether or not I can get out with the help of my new hard disk recovery disks.
If they did it the old-fashioned way (sending an OS disc and a disc of pilots) I wouldn't even question, but as I created disks of the computer itself, I wasn't too sure when I opened the drives upward to make sure all burned on them ok, I never saw something like what I expected.

Also, I read somewhere that someone else has tried it and it didn't work, they assumed because the recovery included an image specifically to fit the original hard drive size?

Can someone enlighten us all please?

    Thank you

    Hello

First, you must create the Toshiba Recovery disk using the Toshiba recovery disc Creator called pre-installed tool.
Usually, you should receive a confirmation message that the recovery was created successfully.
This means that you can use this disk to restore the laptop to factory settings is not serious what HARD drive is in use.
This means that the recovery disc should work with the other drives.

But note; This recovery disk using would format the HARD drive and remove all HARD drive partitions. But this should not bother you if you use the disk HARD vacuum ;)

  • Satellite A210-1AO - support SATA2 hard drives?

I have Toshiba Satellite A210-1AO and I want to spend her hard drive.
It does support SATA2 hard drives?

    Hello

Disks hard SATA2 can be used in every laptop or computer with SATA interface. The new SATA2 interface has the same connector and downgrade compatible. This means that SATA2 is faster, but only in theory. Hard drives are not fast enough to achieve these speeds possible.

In addition there is no limit of capacity on SATA interface you can buy what you want and have fun with the new HARD drive! :)

    Hello

The laptop supports EXPRESS CARD location.
I guess you are able to use 16-bit and 32-bit (called CardBus)
The slot that allows the use of cards 34mm and 54mm and data max be 2.5Gbps

    As to the question;

    (1) I think a SATA2 HARD drive would go because the standard SATA2 is compatible to the bottom. But I assume that the system will operate as a good HDD SATA.

    (2) Yes, you can install vista using the Toshiba Recovery DVD. It shouldn't be a problem with a fresh install

    What to do?

It's something special with the DVD I have Toshiba?

    The whole is really mysterious. In my opinion, there are two options;
Either your have used and tried to install a bad graphics driver or there is something wrong with your GPU chip.

You are 100% you tired of a graphics driver to the right of the European driver Toshiba page?
If Yes, then I recommend contact the ASP in your country, as this could be really a hardware problem.

Also I found you second secondment in another thread

and I think this must be a graphics card problem.

  • Installation of Win7 on Satellite A210-128 using carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850

    Hello

I have a question about the installation of different OS Vista provided with Toshiba Satellite A210-128.

I Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-850 drive and it will not read the CD bootable XP.
I found a few posts in other forums that this drive won't allow me to install XP.

So here's my question: someone at - he tried to install Windows 7 (RC TE) with this drive? Or maybe someone has been successful with the installation of Windows XP?

Thanks to all those who would like to help :-)

    Hi mate

I think you're a little confused, but I want to help you.
First of all it s any CD/DVD drive is installed in your laptop.
The installation of Windows XP and Win 7 should work with all readers who are able to read the CD or DVD.

I guess that you were not able to install Win XP because the CD/DVD drive was not able to manage this particular drive.
A friend of mine had the same problem with the other player. After a long period of use of the window of disc was not readable.
But he could solve this problem. It has burned (copied) the Win XP disk on another CD and then used the second drive to install Win XP.
The reader to read the other disk correctly.

Win XP and Win 7 are released on different disk but in most cases the readers should not have any problems with this disc
But if so, then it s mostly a problem of CD/DVD disc

    See you soon

I A210-128 and want top WinXP. Where can I get/download the XP drivers for my laptop?

    Hello

Satellite A210-128 seems to be new to the market...
It looks like the Toshiba page pilot European provides the drivers for Vista at the moment.
I think you should wait a little bit and I'm sure that XP drivers will be available in the near future.

Of course, you can try to install drivers XP chip manufacturing site.
If you need graphics drivers I recommend visit www.laptopvideo2go.com or www.omegadrivers.net.

  • Satellite A210 - 1 4 do not recognize the optical disc drive

    I have a satellite A210 - 1 4 who recognize the strange.
The drive has power and running disks but does not appear as a drive in MY COMPUTER.

It is also not recognized in the Bios.
I updated the Bios and tried to install the firmware but the message that the drive is not found.

I tried in another computer and it works fine.
If anyone has had similar problems, and is there a solution?

    Thank you very much

    > I tried in another computer and it works fine.
You have tested optical drive in another computer?
In any case, if the STRANGE is not recognized in the BIOS I'm afraid controller ODD m is defective. It comes to the motherboard so there is not some sort of easy solution.
I don't think you can do much except to swap the motherboard.

  • Satellite Pro A210 - error recovery after a new installation of HARD drive

    Hello

I have a satellite pro 210 (bios v1.6) has died the HARD drive.

I bought a new WD Scorpio Blue 250 GB HARD drive and ran the reinstall drive (I've done exactly this for a friends Equium a month or so back and all worked flawlessy!)

Everything worked fine until the first re-boot, went through the usual stuff:
Please wait a moment while windows starts for the first time
Then a windows background, spinning slider with waiting message please, much HDD activity
    Then the sudden error:
"Installation of Windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

Does anyone have ideas, what it might be?
A google search suggests the sata bios settings, but I do not see in the configuration of the bios page.
In my view, there is a new bios v2 by download - would this help?
If so how can I install it when the computer does not start vista? Or any other suggestions?

    Thanks for reading.

    Cheers, Stephen

    Hello

The SATA driver is not necessary if you use the Toshiba Recovery disk because the image on the recovery disk contains the SATA driver.
So there must be other reason for it.

In your case, I recommend setting the BIOS settings by default and start over once the recovery procedure.
Maybe something went wrong during the configuration of the OS if second installation is worth a try

  • Satellite 2400-103 - what is the maximum size of HARD drive?

    Hi all.
    New here.

Nobody knows what the maximum hard disk size is for a Satellite 2400-103? This laptop has a 30GB HARD drive which is complete at the moment and I'm moving to a 160 GB unit.

Used software - DiskCopy - clone Moose 30 GB of cloning to the new 160 GB drive. This creates a partition on the disk that is the same size as the original (about 28GB). If the new hard drive is installed on the laptop at this point, the laptop will be start OK. If I use a partition manager - Partition Magic - to resize the partition to the size of the new disc (about 150 GB) then the laptop does not start.

Would it because there is a limit on the size of the hard disk supported by this laptop?
If so, what is the limit?

    Thank you and best regards.

    Mike

    Hello!

Satellite 2400 is very old notebook, so I think it has a limitation of LBA 28 bits. This means that you can only use up to 128 GB of free space so the maximum capacity of the disc HARD would be 120 GB. So I think that's the reason why the computer laptop can-t start successfully with the 160 GB model.

In your case I bring back the 160 GB model to the computer store and ask one another 120 GB one. It should work normally

  • Satellite Pro P100: How to recover BONES after replacing HARD drive

    Hello

I bought a satellite Pro P100, and I want to change my hard drive
I have the CD restored, but I think that this will not work with a new hard drive!
What can I do to recover my windows?

    Sorry for my englich!

    Thank you

    Hey Phillipe,

Your recovery CD works on what hard drive install you in your laptop. Are the only factors affecting the hard disk of your choice: -.

    1. compatibility of the BIOS (should not be a problem with the P100 model)
This model mainly old laptop impact where the BIOS could not recognize larger drives.

    2 form factor
You should make sure that the disc you choose has the same physical dimensions as your
    existing drive.

    3 speed
Disks hard more quickly improve access times so check out 5400 and 7200 RPM. (there may be a problem
with the generation of heat so 5400 RPM is probably better than 7200)

The are no problem with Windows licenses as the license applies to the operating system itself and not on the hard disk on which it is installed.

    Kind regards
