  I have 2 TC1100s, it works perfectly, the other was purchased for "fix."

  I plugged a working power adapter to see if the fixer lights. He did not so I tried a stack of work my TC1100 work in the "fixer" to see if that helped or load at least begun. After a few seconds turn on the machine, I smelled burning and quickly cut the power supply.

  Now I'm wondering if the battery was the cause I have not noticed a burning smell when I used the power supply alone.

  Install the battery in the tablet to work.
  The problem seems to be a question of the system board. If you open the one with the burning smell and inspect by the sight and smell, you should be able to locate the faulty component (or without).

  I have a laptop Equium A60 and today, while using it I heard a noise 'dry', accompanied by a strong smell of burning. The PC also stop and 'popping' continues for a few minutes.

  The case and the battery have been cool and since I was able to restart the machine and use access files, burn on CD and internet access so it seems to work OK, but my question is what happened? Someone at - it ideas, which went pop and caused the machine to stop?

  I put t know how old your laptop is all why this happen. Please contact the service partner and let check the device. All of a sudden shutdown is especially the reaction if the unit is not properly cooled.

  To prevent damage more equipment allow control of the device. If the warranty is still valid, it will cover all costs if there is a hardware malfunction.

  I was testing an Alienware 14 system that went off after plugging in the AC adapter in, smelt burning? She start fine and when I tried to connect the input ca it off with a burning smell.  I tested the adapter and is fine, the burning came from inside. I'll open it up when I had the chance.

  Everybody had that happening and what you think may of burning?

  The power supply connects directly on the motherboard. I suppose that, given the sequence of events that the motherboard is fried. Tell us what you learn to be the problem and how you fixed it.

• T420 start (power on) at all

  My T420 light up at all. I tried to turn it on with the cable without cable, different baterries, removed the Rams and tried the same things, tried holding down the power button for 60 seconds, tried with another keyboard and I could not able to boot up the laptop. No reaction at all, no blinking or anything like that.

  Any suggestions on the source of the problem are appreciated. Sound like an easy fix, or should I go for a new laptop?

  It might just burn inside your T420 power connector.

  If it's on the use of Warraty is not desassembly chaissy access to the motherboard and check the power connector.

  Yesterday I used system restore to restore my computer from a restore point when I had problems burning files to disk. The restoration seems to go smoothly. However, now I can't access power from the taskbar options (I use a laptop) or the control panel. When I click the icon, nothing happens. So, I tried to open the system to always restore in mind to find a different restore point. However, when I right click on "Computer" in the start menu and click on 'Properties', the same thing happens: nothing. It's the same, click "Recovery" in the control panel.
  Therefore, I entered "rstrui.exe" from the command prompt and finally got to come system restore window. However, there are an error message that says:
  "System restore is not seem to work correctly on this system." An element of Volume Shadow Copy Service has encountered an unexpected error. Check the log of events applications for more information. (0 x 80042302)
  So I typed "Services.msc" in the start menu and clicked on it, but yet again, nothing happens.
  Right now I'm running a scan with Malwarebytes malware, after which I intend to try to do a restore of the system in safe mode, but I fear that it won't work because I already tried to start safe mode power options and it did not work (that was before I realized the system restore was not functional).
  Can someone please? Thank you.

  Edit: both pis. I was able to fix the problem with sfc/scannow from an elevated command prompt. There were files corrupt system that have been properly repaired. Now the system restore works, but it is no longer necessary.

• 5200 801 with DTS-6012 DVD burn DVDs!

  Since I first bought 5200-801, I had problems burning CDs and DVDs. write speed would never go to 2 x as it should be, and - more important-record would be interrupted by an error.

  I downloaded the update of the firmware (SDR6012-1334. (EXE) that has been posted for this problem (interruption).

  Since then, I usually have to burn the DVD 2 or 3 until I get a readable. The operation appears successful, but the dvd is not burned!

  I noticed that the contrast between burned and unburned area is higher on copies of the work of those who does not work on the recorded surface. Looks like the laser is not strong enough!

• Satellite A200-AH5 CD/DVD drive does not burn any CD

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite (A200 AH3) under Windows Vista Home Premium.
  For what it's worth, there's a T2085 @ 1.73 GHz processor. It is a 32-bit operating system.
  In the Device Manager when I click on the CD/DVD-Rom drives, I get CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632D ATA Device.
  By clicking on this that I find that the driver is working correctly and up-to-date. I was not able to burn a CD on this system...

  I have not tried to burn a DVD.

  In your case, I recommend trying the different CD s from different manufacturers.
  You should know that not all CD or DVD would be fully compatible with your internal CD/DVD drive.
  In many cases no compatible CD or DVD would lead to exactly the same problems that you described in your post so trying different media!

  In addition, I recommend checking the Toshiba driver for a CD/DVD drive update page s firmware.
  As I m not wrong not the Satellite A200-AH3 belongs to the Canadian series and you should check the Canadian page for a new firmware. Maybe a new firmware is available

  Last but not least, you can switch to other burning software I m using Nero I think it s the best applications for such purposes

  It s pretty cool that you post the log file but I doubt that it could be useful.
  To my eyes the CD/DVD drive is faulty or the CD that you used are not entirely compatible.

  I had some burning questions with my CD/DVD drive, but I could solve this problem by using a different CD and DVD from another manufacturer.
  I have read that many people recommend using TDK CD - R or DVD - R media.
  I checked these discs and my drive supports it fully.

  In the user manual, you will find a list of compatible media, which are tested and it works properly. Have you tried to burn at a slower speed?

I used it to play games like REsident Evil 5 and the most recent call of the games service and up to now it works very well... my question is about the requirements of the card.  I have a 250 watt power supply and graphics card says it is recommended to have at least a 400 watt power supply.  I'm afraid that my computer can burn or something to use with this graphics card.  Is this ok for me to use it like that? It will burn out my CPU on my PC to play games like resident evil 5 or gears of war with him.  I wanted to buy Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 tomorrow when it comes out but I'm a little worried about this how to use my computer, I mean if the card box indicates that he recommends a 400 Watt power supply and I have 250 watts.  It would be ok for me to use in this way?   It is HIGHLY recommended to get a power supply to meet the system requirements. Initially, it wouldn't make much difference. If you are a hardcore "gamer", I suggest you to upgrade your power supply, since the extreme game CAN cause your power supply to burn. Why take risks? Right? Spend little dough and get a higher rated PSU...

  I have an opportunity D530 CMT P4 3 GHz 1 GB RAM 40 GB HD. I wanted to get a new power supply, that it works very well, but want to add a better video card. I think the power is 240, but not sure.   Maybe you can get an opportunity, but tested and functional P/S since a dc7600/dc7700 on eBay.

  These PC uses the same case as a d530 CMT and their P/S are 365 Watts.

  The only issue you might encounter is that these P/S are built for SATA HDD, so you will need to make a SATA power Molex adapter, or you can get a SATA HDD for your d530.

  With this P/S, you should be able to install a wide video AGP card.

  I ran a nVidia GeForce 6200 128 MB video card and run windows 7 on my d530, without having to exchange the 240W P/S.

  I also installed a sata and sata DVD burner drive. To power the DVD burner, I have a Molex to SATA power adapter.  The motherboard has 2 SATA controllers.

  I also maxed out the CPU and ram.

  Nice machine when all maxed out.

  I have windows media player 11 on windows XP. I was able to "burn" the many CDs in the past. Now I can listen to mp3 music, that I have loaded on it, but can "burn" a copy on a CD, same with music, I 'burned' before. X red lights next to each song and said that there is error COOD - 11 7 or COOD-BC2. I found and would be dl and installed: MicrosoftFixit.wu. ; K Lite_Codec_Pack_790_Basic; XP_Codec - Pack_2.5.1; Media.Player. codec. Pack.v4.1.1. I have restart fterwards, none of them doesn't seem to help. Is there a newer package of codec I need? What I am doing wrong?

  I then restarted the computer and it works now! I was able to burn a CD at last.

  I'm saving your message for future use. This has happened before, it will probably once again that the new codecs are needed.

  BTW, the length of the music files was projected on WMP, and he told me that if all the "burn file" was going to put it on CD 1 or not.
