Mail application started having hundreds of notice return of Postmaster to emails ever sent to this address

Today, almost 200 returned e-mail notifications began to appear in the Inbox mailbox app. No connection to all e-mails sent from here. I did a full backup and then a reboot, but no help. Any ideas?

Assuming that you have checked that the emails are not in the folder "sent" from your e-mail server (web portal), one of the computers of your friends has a virus that stole all of their contact information, and now spammers use your email address as email address in spam, it sends a fake. You'll just have to weather the storm.

  • The e-mail application does not connect to the Dreamhost servers. Perhaps because of how they configure their SSL certificate for their subdomains.

    http://wiki.DreamHost.com/Certificate_Domain_Mismatch_Error

Certificate SSL of Dreamhost for their mail servers only at one level of subdomain while many of their clusters of e-mail exist on a second level subdomain. In my view, this translates into an error message 'bad security' of the e-mail application.

I contacted DreamHost and they say they are unable to solve this problem, or that they will allow me to install an SSL certificate on my virtual domain pointing to my cluster e-mail (even if I had to buy a).

I understand, it is possible to manually add certificates via adb in a way similar to this: http://www.pending.io/add-cacert-root-certificate-to-firefox-os/

However what I read this: 1. does not work on the ZTE Open 2. Can only fix only navigation not the web mail client.

Is there any option that is available to me short of switching hosts?

    Fabian,

Are you familiar with Firefox OS? The reason why I say this is because the e-mail client cannot create an excaption certificate. In fact, it's design. It's design: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Gaia/Email/Features#Security

This request for support to Mozilla was placed specifically for the product Firefox OS, for which there is only a single mail client.

That said many people in the Mozilla Bugzilla, have been able to show me how to find another alias for those servers that actually works and in fact corresponds to SSL certificates. Although Dreamhost support could not provide me with any such information, and such information is not actually in the DreamHost wiki.

I have a repeated insistence of Dreamhost possibility I should just live with the exceptions of SSL certificate, when there is real existing valid server names to match the certificates in question, silly.

The fact that you post this solution for one product, so that it is not yet applicable beyond useless. It serves to muddy waters.

  • I have problems some time with the Mail application.  I don't know if it's since I started recently in El Capitan

I'm unable to receive mail via IMAP Apple iCloud.  I receive my messages from the iCloud online server, but the mail doesn't come to my Mail application.  I have several other accounts who work.  Activity monitor shows one CPU % usage large amount of the Mail application. Then he made me force leave because he was using all my App memory.  The mail app tried to download the messages that I can see on the activity monitor, but it freezes and will not download.  I entered into System Preferences and turned mail/off voltage.  I have tried everything I know not how.  Any help?

Now my memory of the application in memory pressure is so high, I had to force it give up twice.

  • Mail application crashes (Office 365 account)

    Hi all

I recently added my new Office 365 account to my iPhone of 6 application more integrated messaging. For the first 10 minutes the emails were flowing very well without any problems, but after the mail app started crashing and I was unable to answer a simple mail.

I turned my phone off and back on it and still the same issue. I made sure to check all the parameters - I even delete the account and re - he added. Despite this, I still have the same question. I reduced the synchronization of e-mail to "1 week" and that is has not solved the problem.

My iPhone is updated to iOS 9.3.1 and no other update is available.

Would appreciate it really a few ideas to help solve this problem - or if it's a bug can Apple release an update to fix this.

    Thank you

    Andy

Same exact issue here.  We migrated in fact just a tenant to an another Office 365 and after migration, we have a handful of users of iPhone (and ipad) with this problem.  Return in a phone to users, we have been able to do a full factory reset (without catering) and the returned issue after adding the exchange account.

  • Mail application is suspended

9.2 mail application (Build 3112) hangs at the start of the application.  Even in safe mode.  Suspect some corrupt system and/or Mail Pref files / UI (?).  Carried out the full charge of the OS X 10.11.3 (Build 15 d 21) and restoring from Time Machine backup. However, couldn't find any combination of deactivation of accounts and/or deletion of .mbox entries that could make it work.

I reloaded all the emails-sometimes suspended during reloading, then these offending .mbox directories has set aside for a later attempt.  After rebuilding is finally completed successfully (more than one offending .mbox was withdrawn), the Mail App would just stroll.  From dock app hangs after reloading resulted immediately reproducible.

Noticed the following in the problem report: sending sweet thread limit: 64 (too many threads to send blocked in synchronous operation)

Mail still works on my iPhone – so I know that IMAP accounts are OK...

Is there a way to restore my account of any user from a previous snapshot in Time Machine?  (When I'm connected to the account that I want to restore, I get an error that the account cannot be changed or deleted because it is required by OS X.  When I'm logged in on another admin account, I can't restore the structure of directories in the user library...   Hmmm)

    Suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Please, back up all data.

If you use iCloud drive, please open the iCloud pane in system preferences. There is a marked checkbox iCloud drive, and next to that, a button labeled Options. Click this button and in the sheet that drops, that uncheck Mail if it is checked.

    Step 1

If mail crashes or freezes immediately on launch, try the steps on this page. Sometimes a damaged on a mail server message can be deleted by logging in to the server through its web page. If Mail doesn't always start, or if you are unable to take step 2 for any other reason, go to step 3.

    Step 2

There are three types of e-mail account: POP, IMAP, and Exchange. You can determine the type of each account by opening the Mail preferences window, by selecting the tab accounts and then click on account information.

Export all the mailboxes of POP in the office folder.

If you have accounts IMAP or Exchange and you don't store sent, deleted, and junk messages on the server, export these mailboxes in the same way. You can determine if the messages are on the server by selecting the mailbox behaviors tab accounts.

Also export all the mailboxes in the category on my Mac.

You do not have to export the other mailboxes, because messages are stored on the servers.

    Exit the Mail.

    Step 3

In system preferences, open accounts (OS X 10.9 or later) Internet or Mail, Contacts and calendars (OS X 10.7 or 10.8). Take notes settings for each e-mail account (all types), and then delete the accounts.

    Step 4

In the Finder, hold down the option key and select

    Go ▹ library

in the menu bar. Move the following (some may not exist) in the folder that opens on the desktop:

    Application Support/AddressBook/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr

    Containers/com. Apple.corerecents.recentsd

    Containers/com. Apple.mail

    Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent

    Containers/com.apple.share.Mail.compose

    Mail

Note: you do not move the Mail application. You move a folder named "mail".

    Step 5

Launch of Mail. It will behave as if you have been putting in place for the first time. Go through the process of installation with a single account, using the information from step 3. Test. If Mail works now, recreate the rest of accounting (if you have several) and other parameters.

Any writing paper custom that you created may be lost. Ask for instructions if you want to keep these data.

If there is no improvement, quit Mail and put back items that you moved to the desktop, replacing the more recent who can be created in their place. Stop here and post your results.

    Step 6

If you followed step 2, importing mailboxes mailbox that you exported (see article of support related to step 2 for instructions.) Generally speaking, the process takes a few minutes, but this can take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In this case, you will be able to speed things up temporarily by adding your file to the list of personal information protection in the Spotlight preferences pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.

The mailboxes that you export should automatically synchronize with the server. Once again, if the mailboxes are very large, their download may take some time, and the network performance will be slower than usual during this period.

If you skipped step 2, find the mail on the desktop folder in a subfolder

V3/mailboxes (for OS X 10.11 or later version)

    or

V2/mailboxes (for any previous version of Mac OS X)

Import mailboxes mailbox that it contains.

Test. If Mail still work, remove items that you moved to the desktop in step 4.

Reactivate the e-mail option in the settings to iCloud by car, if you have disabled it and retest. If you weren't already the iCloud drive with Mail, there is no need to enable it now, unless you want to.

  • Mail application: how to remove email addresses from Favorites list

While he was trying to help someone understand the different manifestations of "users/contacts" between e-mail, telephone contacts, Skype, etc., I managed to inadvertently add some accounts to my favorites in the Mail application and don't see a way to manage this list.

    Repro:

1 mail configured to connect to Hotmail

    2. in the left pane of the Mail application, select people. Steering wheel with 'Favorites' and 'Frequent' overlays on top of the display of the messages Inbox.

    3. the magic that happens here... I'm doing something I don't remember or repro... vague memory it is that I clicked on a couple of accounts for friends in the list of "Frequent" and they find themselves in the Favorites list

    4. There is no obvious way to remove users from the Favorites list.

Go to the people app, all users in the list of favorites of my Mail app do * not * have the favorite icon lit up. Selecting and deselecting the favorite icon in the application of people do nothing to my list of 'Favorites' in the Mail application. What this app synching contacts is to?

    Hi Jason,

When you pin a person to your start screen, the profile picture of this person and their Facebook status updates and Tweets will appear as a tile at the start. Press or click on the tile to join their contact information. You can then quickly send them an SMS or an email or call, chat, or get a Skype video call with them.

I suggest you try the steps from the following link on how to add/remove from Favorites of people app.

Help people app (Pin people and Add/Remove Favorites)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-8/people-app-FAQ

If the problem persists, then I suggest you to try the following steps.

    1. to start, press or click on Mail app;
    2. press or click the person you want to remove from Favorites.
    3. press or click Favorites. When you return to the home page of the mail app, you will see more this person in your Favorites list.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have other problems with Windows in the future.

  • Mail application asking to install a digital certificate

I'm trying to set up an Exchange ActiveSync account and receiving the message «To use this account, you must install a digital certificate on this PC...» ».

I looked and saw several responses to this, almost all that refer to the Exchange Server after installing a self-signed certificate.  This isn't my case.  In this case the Exchange Server has installed a 3rd party certificate (published by GoDaddy, if it matters).  I can configure this account on my Windows Phone 8 phones, in Outlook on Windows 8, on my iPad on my iPhone, Android based everything without no extra steps, but not in the user surface Mail application.

So is it possible to configure the mail on Windows 8 RT application or should I just to tell me that their Surface is not supported users and tell them to return it and get an iPad or Android Tablet?

First of all, Atthisaddress, thanks for trying to help.

It works now.  I don't think it was the update of the Mail application which sets it he was still does not work after that I updated.

What finally solved it for me was overtype and reinstall the GoDaddy certificate on the server.  I did once my boss sent me a screenshot of the error he received on a Mac (who had previously worked) and it contains a certificate error message.  Once I circumscribed and re-installed the certificate that the Mail App works just as I expect.  He doesn't want me to install a digital certificate on the client (it was a clean install of Windows 8 on a virtual machine) and just worked.

My reproach to Microsoft maybe should have been addressed to me, because it seems that it was a certificate on my mail server error all the time.  Of course, the error message provided by the Mail App could have been a little more helpful to save some headaches.

The Surface RT is now able to use the Mail App to connect to work email, and that's what I was looking for.

To everyone having this problem with self-signed certificates, good luck.  I hope that Microsoft gets you to work together soon.

I have Windows 8.1 and try to use the Outlook webmail to send and receive emails from my btinternet account. I can receive but not send emails. • Mail application will not keep email deleted out of my Inbox

The Mail app will not keep email deleted out of my Inbox. I remove a bunch of old email, and then it reappears in my Inbox, next time I open the Mail application.  This happens in the Mail application on all my devices: mobile phone of Nokia Surface, computer,.  The web version (Outlook.com) works correctly.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mail app Ant it does not solve the problem.

    Hello

This could be a problem with the e-mail application on the computer that could request an update.

You permanently delete emails or they are stored in the folder to be deleted?

If the mails that remove you are not important, I suggest trying to permanently delete and check if you still find in the Inbox when you start Mail app next time.

In mail application Windows 8 to remove the mass once emails at a time, you must hold down the ctrl key and right click on the email you want to delete. Move delete the folder and delete the emails from here too. Close the application and restart it to see if it returns back. If so, you can proceed with the following methods:

    Method 1:

Download and run the troubleshooter modern UI App and check. Check out the link:

  • Mail application not send messages on MacBook Pro (stuck in the Outbox)

Have a MacBook Pro (late 2011), running Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 (but I had this problem for months, maybe further on OS X Yosemite (i.e. I don't remember this problem starting after an update of the OS)

2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz memory processor

I have two accounts in Mail Version 9.3 (3124) - my iCloud email and my Yahoo email. 90% of all works, I can receive messages, delete messages, move messages, etc. However sending my Yahoo account does not work to Send Mail app in my iCloud account doesn't work (even if it's not instant - just sent a test and he was sitting in my Outbox for about 6 minutes;) I got my iPhone running stopwatch, but it resets twice as it is wont to do since download iOS 10, but that's a topic for ANOTHER post), however anything sent from my account Yahoo is located in the Outbox for DAYS (usually until I realize that I forgot the problem, silently curse me and copy - paste the message via the site Web of Yahoo in Chrome).

I tried Yahoo to disconnect and reconnect it. I tried to remove the 'sandbox' suggestion of Linc Davis here: Mail is stuck in my Outbox?

I really want to plan a Genius Bar appointment for this but I'm frustrated because I use the Mail App every day and often forget I can not send him, and then e-mails sit for days before I noticed the small Outbox (1) in the sidebar! Please help me Apple community, you're my only hope.

  • How to remove a Mail plugin without having to open the mail

I use a particular mail plugin that has been very helpful so far upward. However this plugin has just been updated so that the Mail does not open and I get the error message refers to a problem with the HockeySDK I see that has just installed this plugin. I am waiting to hear the developer about it, but in the meantime I can't use the Mail on my Mac. Because I can not open the Mail I can't delete the whole plugin in the normal way. Is there another way I can remove this plugin in the meantime, until this problem is solved?

    Hello, RobbieSnr!

Thank you for using communities of support from Apple!  I see you are having some problems with third party plug-ins that you use with your Mail from Mac app.  I know how it is important to be able to use your communication by e-mail, I'd be happy to help you to get this working again!

Because I don't know anything about this point the plug-in you use, it is difficult for me to tell you how to uninstall.  I had an idea to get your e-mail application to open, however!  First of all, make sure that you have completely left the Mail (no point below on the platform) app.  Then, hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and then as you are now, click on the Mail app icon to open it.  Now keep Shift during the charge of the Mail application.  The app needs to stay open for you, then you can remove your plug-in in the usual way you mentioned.

You can find more information on this feature in the section called "when you open and exit an application" in this paper: automatically re - open windows, applications and documents on your Mac

    Have a great weekend!
