  • Mac and Action Delete mail rules

I use Mail 9.3 with El Capitan 10.11.6 and by mistake, I created an automatic e-mail rule that removed all email in my Inbox. This was due to accidentally clicking on the "If the following RULES are respected", instead of ALL. I got the error after about a week and have set.

Is anyway to retrieve these messages that were deleted by this faulty rule? I looked in the trash and don't see some messages that I know have been sent to me during this period. Where will the messages that are affected by the "Delete" action in an e-mail rule?

I tried to do a search in mail, Spotlight and Finder, but did not find the mails that I know have been sent to me while this flawed rule was active. Thanks in advance.

If you do not have a backup of them, then they are gone. I you use IMAP mail, then once you delete a message it will be deleted from the server and are gone forever. How long that no matter how deleted mail grab is linked to your options of certain behaviors of the mailbox.

  • Apple Mail rules do not work with iCloud and shipping

I have recently started using iCloud as my primary e-mail for IMAP and SMTP service.  However, I always have my e-mail account non-Apple of active origin with a setup of the redirector to point to my iCloud email.  I also put my answer use the original non-Apple e-mail.  This configuration works very well except that the e-mail rules don't seem to work on forwarded e-mail messages.

When you use the iCloud SMTP server, from Apple Mail or from the site from iCloud, you can use your @icloud.com/@me.com/@mac.com TSA address address "from". You cannot use a different, non-iCloud, email address.

  • Mail rules 'no mailbox not selected' madness

I used a set of rules to mail in Mail.app 50 for about ten years now. He has always been a struggle. Mysteriously disabled mail rules and many other problems. But now the whole system is just crazy completely. Desperately, I ask someone to help me, please.

Most of my mail rules moves e-mail to specific mailboxes. Mail is synchronized via iCloud to multiple computers. A desktop at home and work and a laptop computer. The first symptom of the problem is when my desk at work suddenly not said for each mail rule "no mailbox selected. It was pretty boring, so I restored all the manually. It's about an hour's work. Then I noticed that my office at home and my laptop had the same problem.

    My questions are:

    1. How can I get the correct e-mail rules that I set on the desk to my other computers?

    2. How can I save my e-mail rules so that I can reload them from a backup in the future.

The natural response to 1 should be: they will be automatically synchronized via iCloud. But they do not. I've tried their reload from a backup time machine at home and copy the files under my desk in my home office (?) manually [I assumed the corresponding files are

    SyncedRules

    RulesActiveState

    UnsyncedRules

    SyncedFilesInfo

    in ~/Library/Mail/V3/Maildata]

It did not work. I tried to turn off synchronization iCloud home and removed all of the Maildata folder. I thought that this would reset all the rules. But no: after this operation, all the rules were always there, disabled, but with "no mailbox selected. It's like the head of a Hydra Cup... Now, I'm desperate. How can I reset Mail completely to its original state, and is there any hope it will then download the correct rules of iCloud?

But there is more folly. If I change one of the "no mailbox selected" to the mailbox (I use IMAP), then all THE "no element of selected mailbox" is changed for this particular mailbox, so that after this moment my rules 49 50 mail are bad, and all mail would disappear in the wrong mailbox.

And on top of that, there is a problem, I already reported twice to Apple in the past: during this process, the lower part of the mail rule Panel slides slowly up to hide himself behind the top of the Panel. Then the mailbox user selection button no longer, and you leave Mail for this problem.

I have the same problem.  Does anyone have a solution?

    Thank you

  • El Capitan - mail rules > ' perform the following Actions: "menu drop-down is hidden.

Here's the problem: after setting up the mail in El Capitan and synchronization iCloud with mail rules (the rules are still intact), I noticed a strange thing trying to adjust my Mail rules to filter emails with a few new subfolders. Rules are still in place and function (i.e. ' if one of the following conditions is met:' of > Contains > E-mail address > (+ other rules), then, "perform the following actions:' such as moving, e-mail message, icon bounce, etc."), but the top drop-down selector below him "perform the following...". "section, which in my case is generally" move message to: (name of the folder here) ", is hidden from view. It's still there, but I can't physically click top because the table/cell/div that contains this selector is compressed or not large enough to display the menu drop down. I know that this is true is because the other rules that make them several "Perform" actions... ' display the actions of second and third, but are hidden one.

This is a problem because if I add another "' move to ' action, it is in conflict with the first... but I can't delete the first action, because I can't click on it."

I realize that it is a strange... Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Thank you

    Shane

You may need to scroll down to see all the criteria and actions in a rule.

  • E-mail rule does not always work.

I have attached a copy of this message and the State which must have managed to get rid of it. If I change the rule and apply it, it works, but tomorrow if I get a similar message, the rule does not work. What's wrong?

    Thank you, Fred

Try to delete the order and leave just the command Delete.  Back up e-mail in the junk mail folder in the Inbox and use the menu option Message ➙ apply rules to see if that solves it.

  • Apple Mail rules keep free to delete after E-mail-Reluanch

I had this problem since El Capitan went out and none of them updates have resolved this issue

every time I have an amendment to the rules of apple mail or make a rule after the closing and reopening of apple mail deleted all my custom rules

I noticed that apple mail refuses to create a file named "MessageRules.plist".

    in: ~/Library/Mail/V3/MailData

the only basis of rule files that I find are:

    RulesActiveState.plist

    UnsyncedRules.plist

and they only contain the default rules as spam & new Apple when I try to delete one any of these rules and reload the apple mail they just don't back it is as I have no power to change the rules in apple mail or create my own custom rules. as soon as I simply deleted and sever, recorded in a file called MessageRules.plist

is there a way to fix this? I need my rules but apple mail completely refuses to save my rules and I reset the mail from apple several times...

  • E-mail rules disappeared!

Yesterday, I got several mail hundreds rules I have built over the years. This morning they all disappeared. Pouf! How could this happen, how to fix it and how can I avoid this in the future?

I can't help but wonder if iCloud is to blame. Thanks to the stupid way that their servers treat passwords, I was forced to close the session and open a session in several times, and one of these events may have caused the erasure.

PS: There was not previously a feature to attach screenshots?

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select Library//Mail/MessageRules.plist. Enter your backup and restore.

  • Mail rules, creation of multiple copies of the same message

I have set up three rules of e-mail in Outlook Express 6 for four e-mail accounts so that incoming emails go to a certain folder depending on which mail account, it is sent to (the fourth goes to the Inbox).  My problem is that if someone sends an email to multiple recipients, i.e. at the address #1 and CC address #2 and #3 address, I get the email as many times as there are beneficiaries in each folder, in this case three copies per issue, for a total of nine copies of the same message.  Why does this happen?  Is this because all four addresses are set up with the same host and so are one in the same?

How do I get an email to the appropriate folder, without receiving multiple, including when someone is CC had?

First, create a local folder to be used as a second Inbox and name it anything you want. (Reception-2 box)?  Use it to one of the accounts, as well as the default Inbox for the other. Add more as needed.

    Then create a message rule.

Where the message comes from the specified account.
Move it to the specified folder & stop processing more rules.
Click: specified account and enter the account name for the second Inbox.
Click: specified folder and select the folder that you created.
    Name the rule.

Move this rule at the top of the list of rules , and incoming messages will be separated into their respective folders.

    I have this rule set;

    Move it to the

  • Microsoft Mail rules continue even after being deleted.

I created a rule to forward all emails from my yahoo account.  I then decided to remove this rule.  Mail was sent again to the yahoo account.  I tried to create the new rule and placed a stop before the rule hoping to fix the glip.  Yet all the emails are sent.  Any solution to this?  Many thanks to any willing to help Superman.

What server are the messages coming on?

If you send a message to yourself and that you close Windows Mail before you receive is on the Yahoo via Webmail account? If this is the case, it is a rule that you created on the server as a rule from Windows Mail to send a message would not work until the message has been downloaded to WinMail.

  • Cannot add Contacts Windows Live Mail rule

I'm trying to implement the rules of e-mail in Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 computer. I would first of all a folder to retrieve messages from all my Contacts (i.e. real people) and another to retrieve messages from organizations, I am interested in / attached to but whose email I have to see every day.

Have implemented a rule, I cannot add Contacts, even if it seems that I should be able to. Specifically, I'm trying to set up a rule to sort mail "when the line contains people". In the box "Select individuals", the statement is to "enter one name at a time and click Add, or select the names of your Windows Live Contacts" HOWEVER, we don't know don't not how to select the names of the Contacts. When I click on the Contacts button, I just get a list of Contacts but can't copy and add names to the mailbox rules.

I'm not typing one by one. I need help.

    Thank you.

While in the message rule, click the Contacts button and then double-click a Contact , and click Add. That should add to the rule.
