Make a bootable Windows 7 on macOS Sierra drive

I recently tried to create a bootable USB to install windows 7 on my MacBook Air running Mac OS.

I tried to use unetbootin to a player from the ISO file I have. Worked well, but I got a message at the end saying that the disc I created will not be able to boot on a mac. As said the program, when I tried to start up the USB, it wasn't there. I heard somewhere that you cannot start a windows on Mac OS installation disc up. Is there a workaround or a solution to this problem?

(btw I can't use Boot Camp because now it only supports Windows 10 and more)

Thank you very much

Nick

You cannot start a Mac with Windows without Boot Camp. You can create a Windows 7 virtual machine using VirtualBox (free), VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop.

  • Apple dropped support of Windows 8 in macOS Sierra?

So I upgraded my MacBook to macOS Sierra and I noticed something different in the BootCamp Assistant.

As the official macOS page Sierra said, the new BootCamp installations require Windows 8 and 10.

But when I opened the BootCamp Assistant, he made only 10 Windows or USB later.

So what is the significance of this? Fall of Apple already supported for Windows 8?

  • Make a Bootable Windows CD/DVD 8.1?

It's more annoying, I made the mistake of upgrading to Windows 8.1 immediately after getting my new laptop Windows 8 out of the box... I never thought that I would run into any of these issues.  I want to make a bootable CD or DVD, that's all I want to do, I read the other posts but they seem not to apply because I don't have the option "File recovery Windows 7" in point 8.1.  I don't have the EDD file to burn. at least is not that I can find.   I tried the recovery disc creator, but he wants a 16 GB flash drive!  I have a stack of blank discs and I want to just make a bootable media, meaning I've read some horror stories about people not being able to recover their machines.  I seriously have to do back at the factory Windows 8, just to make a boot disk?

My overall plan when I started this was to completely wipe Windows 8 and put on Linux but I wanted to backup just incase that apparently, I need to spend more money just to save this thing, I had no problem dual-boot my machine windows 7 but this Windows 8 scares me.  Anyway my question is simply how the hell can I burn a boot / repair disk to the point 8.1?

I have not tried the first option, but I tried the 2nd one. It took Microsoft, less than 24 hours to realize what I had done and they "solved the problem" in one of the automatic updates.  It gave me the option to install (free) 8.1 in the next hour, 2 h or 4 h. The ability to skip the upgrade was not an option!  It's a screen that pops up in the middle of something I did and there is no option to make the screen disappear; the Task Manager did not have an option to put an end to this task. I could not else consent to blackmail - the machine was useless, until I introduced. Fortunately, I have another machine that I can use and so far they didn't steal that one from me.

  • Trying to create a bootable Windows 7 x 64 Flash drive. Get the "invalid MS-DOS function" error message when you try to copy the file 'bootsect.exe.mui' of the Windows ISO on Flash drive

The title pretty much everything said.  I have an installer the ISO of Windows 7 Professional x 64.  I am trying to create a bootable flash drive using these instructions:

    http://www.OSNews.com/story/20795/Installing_Windows_7_on_the_Aspire_One_or_Any_Other_Netbook

I followed all the steps in the guide without problem.  Windows Explorer shows the drive is NTFS.  I can copy all other files of ISO on the FlashDrive without problem.  Only, I can't copy this file.  I tried to copy it to my hard drive rather than on the flash drive, and it still does not work.

I tried to create a file with the same name by using Notepad to see if there was a problem with the file name.  I can copy this file on my hard drive flash drive, but I can't always copy the ISO file.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 edition and using a Corsair Flash Voyager 16 GB flash drive.

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

It's basically the xp installation cd

You can borrow one to try to fix the computer

or buy it if you need to reinstall the operating system from scratch.

also some computers that had xp pre-installed usually are prepared with the possibility of restoring the operating system without needing a xp boot / installation cd

Cant 'Partition' this. It is surprising to the Partition button is disabled . Only "Mount" and "partition" buttons are disabled. but 'First aid' & 'Clear' is enabled.
Just unpacked new 16 GB USB3 drive get ready. (Updated to OS from Yosemite to El Capitan 10.11.2 and yesterday I could use the "Partition" command for internal MacHD & created test drive encrypted partition 50 GB)

I want to do a clean installation fees, so I wanted to create this boot ext backup disk before deleting the disk macHD internal.

Erase the disk via disk utility and then partition the system - regardless of the current format was used at the plant probably lack the TPG structures which should.  Does erase everything on the drive, so be sure that there is nothing on the disk you need.

  • How can I burn a Windows XP I received my account of MSDNAA on a CD to make it Bootable?

I downloaded an installer of Windows XP from my MSDNAA account, and I want to burn it to a CD to make an installation program.

I forgot how do, and I want to ask again how will do?

I mean, I do just burn the content of the. Archive RAR I got, or should I do some configurations first to make the bootable CD after I burned the content inside?

    Thank you very much.

MSDN files are usually .iso images, if you got your files in a RAR package you will need to firstly "unrar" (unzip) the file iso and then burn the .iso image.

  • Make Ubuntu 14.04 to Windows 7 using a USB stick bootable Windows 7

I use Ubuntu 14.04 on an i5 Envy of HP Touchsmart, however, I want to upgrade to Windows 7.

I have a bootable windows disc 7. I changed in the BIOS boot sequence, so it runs first of usb, but unfortunately it is able to pass on the Ubuntu operating system. I also tried openinig the executable installer using 'wine' of usb and I get this error after clicking on "install Windows 7":

    Error:

"Windows is unable to find a place to store temporary installation files. To install windows, make sure that a partition on your boot disk has at least 699 MB of free space.  "Error code: 0 x 80070490.

I have over 200GB of disk space. I think I may have to use "gparted partition editor" but I'm not familiar with it either.

Use your Ubuntu installation media to format and delete all partitions including the partition of Grub.

May I ask how you created your bootable Windows 7 USB copy? It is possible, that it might not be bootable. I suggest that you make sure you follow the instructions below to create a bootable copy below:

After graduating the .iso file, you can use the built-in Image disc burning tool or Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).

After downloading the. ISO file, right click and click burn disc image

    Insert a blank DVD

    Click on burn

Windows 8/8.1 users can mount the. ISO file and start the upgrade automatically. More here

    Important:

If you create a USB startup key, make sure the USB is first in the FAT32 format.

    Connect the USB

    Open Computer

Click with the right button on USB

    Click on Format

Make sure that FAT32 is selected as the file system.

    For UEFI systems based

If your computer is UEFI, they are normally the systems that come pre-loaded with Windows 8 or later, you need prepare the ISO for such a configuration file or you will receive an error during installation. The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the GPT partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list
    • Click Start
    • Close when you are finished

Try to start it again, make sure that you select and remove each partition, select it the disk partition not allocated, click New and then select the larger of the main partition and then click next to install.

  • Problems with mail after switching to macOS Sierra

    Hey all

After having recently upgraded to macOS Sierra, I am unable to read my mail.

I get the following error every time I check on "Get Mail".

There may be a problem with the mail server or the network. Check the account settings "*" or try again.

The server returned the error: Mail could not connect to the server 'pop1.tribcsp.com' using SSL on the default ports. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct.

What does this error message mean and how can I solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hi Michael,

I see your message that you get an error in the mail indicating that there is a problem with the mail server or the network.  To help get this problem resolved, I suggest that you follow the steps below:

If mail refers to a problem with the mail server, or the network

Mail will say that it is impossible to connect due to a problem with the mail server or the network. For example, the message may refer to a connection that has expired, or too many simultaneous connections:

If you are connected to the Internet, but the connection has expired, your email provider might be affected by a discontinuance of service. Contact them or see their status Web page to ensure that their e-mail service is online. Examples of status pages:

If the message indicates the number of simultaneous connections, too many of your devices is check your e-mail account at the same time. Quit Mail on one or more of your other devices.

If you are still unable to send or receive e-mails

    1. Make sure that you have installed latest version of the Mac software updates, especially if the problem occurred immediately after the installation of a previous update.
    2. In OS X El Capitan or later version, you can see a status icon and the short error message in the upper right of the Mail window, under the search box. The message may indicate 'Network offline' or 'Connection failed', for example. Click the message to see more details on the issue.
    3. Check your connection to the Mail connection doctor. It might be able to say more on the issue.

If you cannot send or receive e-mail on your Mac.

    Take care.

  • after upgrade to macOS sierra cannot connect to citrix receiver apps

I use Citrix receiver apps to make my day to day work. The same citrix apps are also accessible via a web browser (Safari) and everything worked fine until the version IE Capitan.

After upgrade to macOS sierra I can't you connect/launch of citrix apps. I tried with receiver and citrix via web browser as well, but its not connecting.

Is anyone else facing the same issue or know the fix.

Earlier, I thought that maybe some problem of connectivity, but after a lot of troubleshooting it still did not work and shows the same error "failed to initialize." (attached image).

Then clicked on suddenly to mind that I just upgraded my MacBook OS. In order to confirm if his new problem of macOS or anything else, I have installed Windows 10 on vmware fusion and tried to connect to citrix receiver and it worked only! without any operation of additional troubleshooting, it is confirmed that the issue is again macOS.

So as a temporary workaround, you can use virtual windows OS on top of the operating system Mac OS page sierra to launch citrix applications.

But apple needs to fix in the Sierra.

This seems to be, in part, a browser problem.

Have you tried, since El Capitan or Sierra, another browser?

And it would move from Citrix to make their applications compatible with OSX.
