Can I delete all the partitions on my computer laptop is ok.

Hello

You can install on your device, all you want, and it has no negative influence on the guarantee.

If the unit is pre-installed and configured right avoid all performance issues. Before you remove preinstalled operating system create the CD drivers and tools of fir trees. This CD can you use later to install all the drivers, tools and utilities.

Good luck!

  • HP envy m6 w103dx: how to make new partitions?

The thing is that if I use the disk management software, it does allow me to have my desired partition size, if I do the partition during the installation of Windows and then I have to lose my OS and I read on the so pure support forum, I installed OS, I'd lose software recovery and content of the recovery partition is visible and they cannot be reinstalled.

So I'm always reluctant to do a clean install, because I don't really want to lose the recovery options, but don't really care about OS.

    @Tayyab1

If you try to reduce the C partition and are not able to reduce beyond a certain point, this is often due to locked file - try turn off windows system restore to the C partition, reboot and then temporarily disable the pagefile.

I hope that you will now be able to reduce the partition to the size you require - once this done, re-enable the system restore and page file.

However there is a recovery partition, I stand by that, that I did earlier recovery disks, unpartition & free space & create a new partition with my senses affected discs.

    Hello guys

What program is best to do a new partition without lost my existing?

And if I do this new partition after recovery, he will be existing or not, and I mean my files on this partition

    THX

When you buy new laptop it comes preinstalled with recovery image and has factory settings. If long you have factory settings you will be able to install the OS with the help of HARD drive recovery facility.

If please before do you and change anything create recovery (recovery discs) DVD using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool. It may happen that after that change installation drive recovery HARD structure partitions will not be more.
    > And if I do this new partition after recovery, he will be existing or not and I mean my files on this partition
After recovery you will absolutely the same structure of partitions as you have now. So be careful with that, and before installing recovery image al backs up your data to an external device.

Best program? Best program for me has been to Partition Magic.

Name: HP Pavilion g6-1d38dx Notebook PC

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

My hard drive is shipped with a factory setting of 4 primary partitions. I would like to remove one of the partitions in order to create a new primary partition using this guide (jump to option I content):

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/other-notebook-PC-questions/how-to-REPARTITION-HDD-of-HP-notebook-with-...

My goal is to create a new partition D where I store all my data so that something happened to my operating system that is on the C drive (viruses, etc.), all my data will be safe in the drive D. I hope that running the system recovery HP (using the f11 key) will not remove the user created the D partition and the data in it , but that's where my confusion. The guide above says the following on this subject:

"Remember that if you decide to use the recovery discs or the F11 option to restore the PC to its original state, all partitions that have been created by you will be lost and will also lose all data that was stored on them."

However, another document which is the HP system recovery guide, says the following

Your computer can have three types of available system recovery, or he might have only two. Use the type of recovery in order to solve your problem without making further changes as necessary.

If you don't have 3 options in the recovery then Yes, System Recovery Manager will delete all partitions and restore the original configuration.

To better protect your files an external USB hdd is a good investment of backup. You can also use it to make a System Image of your hard drive that can be used to restore windows and all software/drivers if you need to reinstall. 1 > guide 2 > guide

  • How to make Vista partition on the HARD drive as first with recovery CD

    Hello

I want to format and retrieve information from my 'Vista' (C: / /) partition, which is the first. But when I choose the option "Format and recover to a first partition on your hard disk (without RE) ' the computer began to recover in" Type of Partition: windows NT NTFS (ID: 07) "whose size is only 1.50 GB.

In the middle of the process, it shows not 'enough space on a disk.

Question: How to make a 'vista' first partition? What is 'the first partition' in the second formatting option and recover the system?
    Thank you for your answers

    Hello

Sorry, but you will not be able to do. I know it's a bad situation but if you use the first option that the whole HARD disk will be formatted and C new partition created. Second option, that you can not use at all. I tested it with my Satellite A100.

I called Toshiba and they said that Toshiba work on new recovery options and new notebooks will have the best recovery option. Something like old installation expert ghost mode.

I know it's wrong, but unfortunately there is nothing to do.

  • New partition formatting is not possible!

I use Win7 Pro and that you have a standard installation of toshiba plant. I have reduced the size of my Partition C and you want to create a new 60 GB for my data partition. The free space is 65,43 GB unallocated space directly after the main C (152,38 GB) partition.

I'm using the standard tool for the management of partitions in Windows Control Panel.

Every step is behaving normal Nigerian I am trying to format the new partition. The message error is "there is not enough free space on the disk/disks. I tried to format a smaller portion of the free space, IE 1, 5 or 10 GB, but still the same result.

    Anyone with a good idea?

    concerning

Prior to do any create a recovery media and make backup recovery image. How to do this you can read in the document of the user manuals. It is very important. After having changed the structure of partitions, you can have problems with HARD drive recovery facility, especially if you are trying to format this partition of 10 GB recovery.

As far as I know, you can reduce the C partition and create the new partition. I tested it today on my machine and everything works fine.

    Hi forum users

If anyone of you needs an accurate description of installation of operating system using Expert mode, maybe this can help you.

When the recovery process has begun there are menu where you can choose between two modes of installation.
    1 standard mode
    2. expert mode

At first he put there important warning: all data stored on your computer will be lost. It is also important that hollow a Standard installation partition will be created and all data on the hard drive will be lost.

If you want to install the operating system on a partition, please use Expert mode. In this case, the software can be installed on an existing partition. Alternatively, you can make one by yourself.

If you want to make a partition with a set capacity, please do it on this path:

    1. choose number 2 Expert mode pressing
    2 approve OK key ENTER
    3. choose LOCAL > DISK > image
    4. look in: must be selected for the CD-ROM drive
In the Middle window choose GHO file and press ENTER
    5. using the TAB key you must mark the player information and so on and press ENTER
    6. using TAB button again part brand of window average (blue line) and with SPACE activate new dimension box
    7. place inside the new size of the partition and press ENTER again
    8. the question to continue with load disc? confirm with OK

I hope this can help you to make the desired partition size.

    Good bye
    ######################

At step 6 above, enter the size of the partition you want. Size must be entered in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB). (mine is 40 GB HDD, i.e. 38146. I go to half, 19073)
Proceed with the disk load? Click OK.

It will now recover your machine to its factory setting. 2 partitions will be made.

Once the restore is complete, open my computer. You'll see only drive Local (c) on hard drives. Click on properties and you will see that the size that you specified in step 6 above (20 GB). So, where's my other 20 GB? It is a way to treat 2 to make a new logical drive.

I tried to create another partition on my computer running Windows XP, but when I go to disk management, it doesn't let me do anything when I right click on a partition.
