Makes a mess slow down your desktop computer?

I have heard that having a lot of documents, photos and files on my desktop can slow down my computer.  My computer runs windows 7 and has a lot of available hard disk space.

If you mean that you have a lot of files on your desktop, as appositive to shortcuts, the office is not the place to save files to-it's like having a draw just a lot of paperwork which is not in order, makes them easy to lose / move things

    Only Windows Movie Maker v2.6 has that effect. I recommend that you download Windows Movie Maker 2.6 If you want access to the effect of "slow down, half.

    To make your video more slowly by using this version of Windows Movie Maker, you must use the effect "slow down, half. On the table of the storyboard / timeline, select the video clip, picture, or title to which you want to add the effect. Click on 'Tools' and then click 'effects '. In the "Contents" pane, click the effect you want to add (in this case, "slow down, half").   • If I expanded my page file it will slow down the my computer?

    If I do my pagefile to high it will slow down my computer. What size do you recommend for xphome, serv.pk.3, win. Exp 8, 32-bit color, cap 28.6 GB drive with 18gbfree, 256 MB of ram. Right now I have 800 MB allocated to the total size of pagefile for all readers.

    I changed my pagefile to 385 x 385 and changed manage the use of mem for better for appearance to let windows decide what works best. So I changed my mini to the full kernel dump file. I tried to move the pagefile from drive c where I assume that windows is installed in the disc volume label box but there is only one disc in the box and it wouldn't let me do anything IE no response in the mouse. How do you add another drive for the drive volume label area? My computer is a stand alone im thinking what it would take to being connected to a network?     I have several on my desk, varies it just on your computers memory, speed etc? In the Task Manager it shows like sidebar.exe runninng 49 112 memory, is that a lot? For example, it is the same use as my browser.

    If you have enough current execution, it could possibly affect performance, but all depends on how many resources use gadgets.  If you have an old PC with not much RAM, which would also increase the possibility.

    My laptop is now just a year and plays well outside some blue screen errors that have been fixed. The question now is time to start being significantly slower, especially the loading of the office. It takes 15 seconds to the password screen, to 45 seconds to reach the office and another 45 seconds to the taskbar, icons and things on the desktop to load. What is unusual is that during this black screen, my mouse is displayed, as well as for Advanced System Care 6 performance monitor (I doubt that this is the problem as I had installed for some time). I did the troubleshooting on mine and removed about half of my program without success. I also checked the health and performance of my SSD with SSD and SSD life and both seem to be very positive. I did not any changes to the Bios because I don't want to reinstall my OS and I'm not really sure on workarounds.
    I tried also to the difficulty of the task of explorer.exe, by checking the value of shell in the registry and it is correct, that it just load slowly at the start and each time I kill and then open it again in the Task Manager. Therefore, I think that my main problem is with explorer.exe loading slowly for some reason, I also removed some desktop icons and taskbar, although I doubt that it makes much difference.
    I've also done many scans with malware bytes pro and hitman pro, there is no virus on my computer.
    I appreciate any help, as it is very inconvenient for my more than 90 seconds start time, when he was about 20 when the laptop was new.

    When my Windows 7 is slow to start, I do the following:

    Start, then in the search box, type of race. In run, type "msconfig"(sans guillemets), and then click OK. ""
    In the general tab, make sure that selective startup is selected.
    Under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    Then go to the Startup tab and disable everything except software antivirus and important such as the microsoft. In addition, DO NOT disable any program that you do not recognize.
    This will disable any unnecessary background programs and prevent to launch at startup.
    NOTE: you can still start programs even if they do not start at startup. For example, your favorite game is one of them, and you the disabled. Now, the game does not start at startup, but if you click on the game icon later, it will always start, except maybe a bit slower when it starts. Basically, you are delaying the start of programmes which does not need to start at startup, you move a part of the start-up BACK period. The only programs that you do not disable is programs that actually need to start (like if it starts your computer will blow or something similar).

    Once you have completed the restoration of the system, download and install updates one manually to determine which update is causing the problem to occur and if this update is not recommended or important you can refrain from their installation.

    OT: Win 7 very slow operation.

    This problem started a week ago, and since it's spring break I decided to not deal with it until the end of spring break, so here I am. The last thing that I remember that windows was have an update, so I thought that was the problem. I did a restore of the system for this update and that did not solve the problem, so I decided to system restore a fortnight before an another update. This also did not fix the problem, also before every system restore, I scanned with Malwarebytes Premium & AVG Premium or whatever of the paid version of AVG is without any result. So, I have now decided to go to safe mode and scan because it might be something blocking it and still nothing. Also, I just remembered something pops up saying "Web Browser" became unresponsive, and when I press the button to end that my computer runs at the speed normal than it used to and I think that all that is "Web Browser" is the source of my problem (s). Web browsers, I have installed are IE, Opera and Firefox. I also did a search on "webbrowser" bing to see if this is a real program, and the only thing I found was that it is a Gimp plugin, which I use on a daily basis, so I found and deleted the plugin in Gimp program files and it has not fixed the problems. The only reason why I was able to come on these forums is because the thing "Web browser" popped up and I was able to stop him... I also took a screen shot of it to see if anyone of you thin people know a solution to my problem. Thank you

    Thanks for the return of the response.  You only experience this problem with your folder "my pictures"?   You ran analysis complete with your antivirus software and possibly some type of removal of malware?

    Try the steps below and let us know the status.

    In Windows Explorer, select 'Tools', then open "Folder Options".   From this window, select the "View" tab and check "not to put thumbnails cache.  When you reopen your file, it might take some time initially, but see if are able to open the folder quickly after it fills.

    Does anyone else have a problem with Creative cloud slows down the entire computer. I'm working on: Mac (21.5 inch, end 2012) PROCESSOR: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 MEMORY: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 GRAPHICS card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M 512 MB. The only solution I found is to stop totally creative cloud who is unhappy when I'm required to pay monthly for it.

  • Disk defrag works not, taskmanager no opening, very slow downing load anything

    I've had problems with my computer for a while now and I don't know what else to do now, I'm trying this.  I sent this computer in Bridge 2 times now and this looks at what could be the third if I can't get all the answers.  The problems I have been having always start when I first try to defrag my computer.  It takes forever to defragment. I started it at 09:00 and it was not yet done at 20:00. I finally stopped him at 21:00 and it just sitting there like it was stuck.  now my task manager does not open and I can't get this thing to download something, including the microsoft fixit tools.  I am very frustrated.  I downloaded all execept serivce Pack 2 updates and this thing is everything to date.  any help would be great.

    Installation of the Service Pack 2 - that is where I would start. You say that you have downloaded all the updatesexcept this one, so with that one being later, it should correct a little (apart from a virus, etc.). An application that will help you realize what lack us isBelarc Advisor . I love it, because it produces a file html (on your own computer), and once it loads in your browser, you can print it out and have a list of all installed on your computer - and it includes what Microsoft Updates are installed and missing, with the version numbers for all of this. And it's free. :-)

    I'll make sure that Windows Defender runs, as a bare minimum (I thought Windows Security Essentials, being in agreement, but I uninstalled it because it made my Vista boot slowly and returned to the Defender). Vista is quite safe, however. If you buy a commercial product, I recommend Kaspersky (I don't use it myself, because I download a lot and I'm careful, but my mother has it on his computer and she's in all Big Fish Games and so on and got a nasty on her own a bit... virus) Until Kasperky was installed and took care of that - now it catches everything (so far)).

    Virus and others can make Windows run slowly. I've seen all kinds - some file after file replication, increasing the number and size of the files, the names of some really stealth and switching. But if it is not a virus that slows down your computer, it is really likely to be fragmented files. In this case, I would recommend Auslogics Disk Defrag . It's free and FAST.  You can defragment with a new and also OPTIMIZE files so that things run faster. Any defragger will take more time with the bigger hard drives. Windows Defrag takes too long. So doesn't the defragmenter in Advanced SystemCare 3(so uncheck the Defragmenter option if you run this, BUT I recommend highly this program because it will clean a lot of things for the better - remember do not check the boxes in the window popup resulting for the module of security... unless you know what you're doing , because not all these (Browser Helper Objects, etc.) are a problem. This program also includes a fixer shortcut, an application that allows you to see what programs are running at startup and much more. One of the best I've seen, and I used it for a few years now without a problem.

    These last two linked above will go a long way toward acceleration and optimization of your system. I run these two first and then restart. SystemCare has three main sections of things that can be run - she is really well organized. It "takes the trash", in other words. :-) It will get rid of unwanted files and increase the speed and solve common registry problems (something I was initially uncertain about when I got it, but after a few years, it was no concern - it cleans things upwards, and unlike other programs of registry).

    Another possibility: according to how you have set aside for virtual memory, if you get close to maxing out your hard disk space, you might find yourself in a situation where the computer is both need to write a lot on the drive and need more space, or space dedicated to virtual memory (I call it "the garbage area" where she must write and write about things older in this area) (as things are processed - this is temporary memory). Bottom line: If you are short on space and don't know what to do about virtual memory (and people use virtual memory to compensate for the fact that they do not have a lot of RAM |) Memory to play with), then let the system choose automatically the drive. To set it, you go to computer (aka My), right click and select Properties, and then when the system properties, click Advanced, then settings of Performance, then advanced once, then, virtual memory, select change. You can select automatic for ALL your drives, OR that the management system of the size for the selected drive.
