Making noise DVD player and not eject is not the disk

Hello

yesterday, my wife tried to play a CD in my Alienware X 51 but:

1. the cd never played / appeared in Windows as an audio CD

2. we can not eject it (with key or even a right click on the D drive.)

I ran a diagnostic and received a hardware error:

Error code 2000-0152

Validation 113198

Optical drive MsgL 0 - State Incorrect = 1 to registry 0020 error

Sense information (02-0401)

Everything is tested him ok.

I tried to enter details in the support page, but apart from telling me I was out of warranty, I could all the details on the next steps.

If the material is dead:

1. can I buy a new one?

2. How can I get the CD out?

This is the error message on the support page:

Description of the problem:

Hello

Have you tried the button on the optical drive emergency eject to release the CD? If this does not work also, this means that the mechanical parts of the optic disc is also defective.

Since you mentioned that you are now out of warranty and if you want to buy a new optical drive for your Alienware, you can call Dell to buy the optical drive for your Alienware.

  • USB ports, CD/DVD player, and Mike just does not work

So I'm pretty sure that these things are happening at the same time, although there are risks my trying to troubleshoot the USB ports have contributed to the failure of the microphone (internal and will not capture sound) and cd/dvd drive (not open). Perhaps? It is true that I know little about these kinds of things, but I'm much less following the indications which is what I did to try to tackle the problem of USB port, which was the first I noticed. I followed all the advice I could find online for troubleshooting when all usb ports do not respond. I used Device Manager to disable in its regular and safe mode. I also uninstalled them all in both modes (even if they reinstall until I'm able to restart). I unplugged and wait 5, 10, 15 min etc. There was a difficulty mentioned about watching the. Mine and INF files do not contain the mentioned error. I'm tempted to all my files backup and restore the computer to factory settings, especially now that the CD/DVD player and the micro does not work. This would solve the problem? If these things are related? Could even restore settings because I can't have in the cd/dvd drive? It's a dell inspiron 1721, and it crushed while you restart for almost a whole day just all the time I've began to notice all these malfunctions. I really appreciate any guidance!

Good so I solved all of these problems. I don't know what did the trick, but when I went back in the BIOS to re - activate the ports they have worked!

  • My Dvd Player does not work. When a disc is in, it makes some noises but never charges upward.

My Dvd Player does not work. When a disc is in, it makes some noises but never charges upward. Had this problem when I first bought the laptop but a parent set. Now I don't know how to solve the problem again.

Maybe the lens needs to be cleaned or maybe gear or bearing broke. Seems like a hardware problem. Better do inspected by a mechanic of the computer. S.Sengupta Media Center MVP

    Hello

Try to manually open the CD/DVD drive.
Near the eject button, you will find a small hole.

You can use a small object like staple and could push gently into this hole.

Usually, this should help to open the drive manually.

    Hello

There are two possible reasons why you are not able to copy anything to the CD or DVD.

First, it may be possible that the drives used are not entirely compatible.
In such cases, it s always advisable to test different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.

Secondly, the issue could be related to a defective laser lens; in many cases, this can happen because of a physical constraint. If the laser lens can not calibrate in a good position, then the player will not be able to handle the inserted discs.
This could be the worst case, because this issue is not repairable. Just a STRANGE replacement could help.
