Manual records on Windows Media Center 7

Hello, looking at TV live, every time I start a manual recording by pressing the REC button, recording starts OK but stops as soon as the current programme comes to an end, is this normal for WMC7?

I don't want to record to track the EPG, just save until I have stop, manual is possible?

Thank you

Hello

Unfortunately, the option you are talking about is by design, when you press record it is to acknowledge that you want to save just this episode/move. If you want to set a record for some time on a manual change (for example 3 hours on channel 4, you need to create a manual recording event.

Will be windows media center recording a first HDHomeRun in "sleep" or hibernation mode?

    Hey, Logan,

Windows Media Center records the first home run HD programs or any which TV tuner installed. However, you may need to follow a few rules.

-If you turn off your computer, Windows Media Center does not have a regular program. The computer must be turned on or "standby mode" to record a television show. The computer will not automatically in standby mode if Windows Media Center is open.

-Make sure that you turn off the screen and lower or turn off the sound if you have one at the request of a record in the middle of the night and don't want to be disturbed.

-Your scheduled recording may not save in the following situation: schedule you a recording in Windows Media Center to start in less than ten minutes, close Windows Media Center and put your computer into standby or hibernation mode immediately. Use or one of the following options to save your record programmed:

    a. do not close Windows Media Center before you put your computer on standby or hibernation.
    b. after having programmed a recording, wait a minute before you put the computer in standby or hibernation.

  • Can I watch a show that is currently recording in Windows Media Center since the beginning of this show?

I use Windows Media Center to record TV shows.  Suppose I record a show in an hour at 6:00, and I decide to 06:10 I want to watch this show from the beginning. (while it's recording)

Is it possible to do this in Windows Media Center?  The media file of the recording of the show is not accessible until it is 100% finished recording.

I am looking for a way to watch a show while it's recording, but to do so since the beginning of the show (after the start of recording)

    Thank you

    Hello

Im sure that you can watch TV recordings during live TV recording, but you can't watch a program during its course of recording.

  • Stop recording in Windows Media Center

I need to help, stopping at Windows Media Center (Windows Vista Ultimate). For some reason programs took a specific series on once for automatically records. I can't find any option to COMPLETELY stop the records to AVOID it. I don't want to record off tv. I am only able to cut the recorder when there's a notice, that he began to record.

That sounds like some show was somehow may (inadvertently) value series 'Record '.
Try this: in recorded TV, go to scheduled > series.  The show in question shows up there?  If so, select it > cancel the series.

  • Cannot change the sections of recorded TV, TV was recorded by Windows Media Center on Windows 7

I have problems with sections of editing a stored program recorded TV in Windows Media Center on Windows 7.

I can't find all the options to change the records as it is on my PVR on Media Center. I can't even open the record with another program like Nero to edit & find Windows Live Movie Maker is very limited, it allows to cut the ends of the records not the sections in the middle.

Can someone tell me what program or how do I do it (& where to find)?

Media Center has not all means of editing recorded TV. I don't know if you
will have more luck if you convert DVR - MS and then try Nero. To convert,
view the TV folder in Windows Explorer and click with the right button on the show.
then convert DVR - MS to view on the shortcut menu.  Video reDo might work
as well. Try posting on thegreenbutton.com forums if this does not resolve your

  • Error code to recording in Windows Media Center

    Hello

I have problem with an error code ladle in MCE, 0xc0040524, it happens randomly.

    Installation program:

(Custom) HTPC with Windows 8.1 with MCE

Card tuner DTV Floppy (internal connected to the Firewire interface) with the last driver BDA.

I ran this with Windows 7 for about 4 years, without this problem.

It started after the upgrade to Windows 8.1.

What can be the reason for the error, SW or HW code and how to follow the deeper level?

    BR

    Hello

As we have not anywhere with this issue, I made a change to the configuration of the SW.

I replaced the BDA Tuner FireDTV for MCE driver with the general BDA driver.

I then installed the DVBLink TV-Server as an interface for MCE.

The installer worked without any problems so far (almost 2 weeks).

It seems to be the pragmatic solution to this problem.

Then we can close this case.

  • During the registrationof windows media Center recording error

I just reinstalled Windows XP pro on my laptop using the support disc that comes with it.  Formatted the C drive and installed.  At half way through a message "errors of recording when recording in Windows Media Center." For more information, see - windows/medctroc.log.

After accepting this installation on board after starting a box came up with "Starting windows first time.»  Please wait. "Nothing happened and I ended up re start it manually.

Another view "configure."  Windows Update - dot.net .net service pack 1.1 - dot - restart

Yet once I had to reboot manually.

error came: sl1a.tmp common language runtime debugging services application has generated an exception that could not be treated have id = 0x4e0 (1248), thread id = 0x4fo (1264)

When widows finally came message read - system will restart - not found ngen.exe entry - point and then - get asked the version of the runtime could not be found in the dynamic binding.

I open IE and try to get updates and a message says "the requested lookup key was not found any active activation context.»

I managed to install Opera, but that is not enough with Microsoft update.  Could someone please help?

This looks like one of three things is unhealthy

    (1) your installation disc

    (2) your RAM

    (3) your hard drive,

You must test each and then determine if its more cost effective to replace the unit or machine.

    (1) test the drive in another machine with IsoBuster - an analysis of surface and find if everything is OK if there are some errors present

    (2) tΘlΘcharger a RAM www.memtest.org - run at least 8 passes Tester and see if errors appear

    (3) download the utility from control of the manufacturer of the HD and create the bootable CD - do a quick scan and then the long scan of the hard drive and see what it reports.

  • Add the network location in Windows Media Center for recorded TV

Locations of tv settings, tv, recorder, more Windows Media Center does not outside of the local computer.  I used Media Center to record some TV shows and I want to spend my laptop on USB large network of an old desk for viewing later.   Because I can't point to this place I'm stuck.
The files are on USB key and visible in windows media player and video location in Windows Media Center.  In other words, none of the news of the series is visible in Windows Media Center (but is in windows media player), so I can't continue to record series because Windows Media Center is not aware of the episodes already on USB network.

    Hello Johngi2,
Thank you for your message.  To change the location of your recorded TV shows and always keep the info so that you won't get duplicates please browse to the following location in Media Center.
Settings > TV > TV recordings > TV storage > storage location
You just change the location of storage on your USB.  Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.

  • Cannot play movies/recorded shows in Windows Media Center on Windows 7

Three years ago I bought a Sony laptop with Vista and an external tuner ATI so that with a CableCARD, I could use Windows Media Center to record shows/movies. I recently bought a new PC with Windows 7 and found that the Windows 7 PC cannot read the 500 films/shows that have been saved and the new Windows 7 recorded shows can be played by the Vista laptop. Is any way to convert or run natively these shows that have been saved under the WMC?

    Hi RalphGreenlee,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

If I understand correctly, you are unable to play back movies recorded in windows media center.

Looks like the file cannot not supported by Media Center or you need a codec to right.
What type of video file format?
Also check the videos if there are other formats to the choice other than the one you have now.

    Method 1:
    Step 1:
Indicate the file types supported by Windows Media Center:
Types of files supported by Windows Media Center:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/file-types-supported-by-Windows-Media-Center
    Step 2:
Try using a good set of codecs and then try to burn video files.
