No one can tell you that, without more information on your system.

They can guess and suggest things like the committed Microsoft Support Engineer "experts":

'Increase the value of the initial and maximum size to a higher value.

Who has no sense at all, but it is advice from these committed Microsoft alleged Support Engineer "experts."

    Increase by 10, 100, 1000, a meelion?

If your pagefile is out of whack, you might see something like that:

Virtual memory minimum too low: your system is low on virtual memory.  Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file.

This means that Windows XP is to let you know that he does his work.  The message is not an error message - this is an informational message.

If XP thinks that the size of the swap file (usually c:\pagefile.sys) is too small to accommodate your day-to-day transactions, it will adjust the paging file to expand the pagefile and display this message as it does.  It is not necessarily a 'problem', but the message is boring.

    My notes:

At least that learn you more about managing memory than Windows XP, it is usually best to simply let XP manage the size of your virtual memory paging file.

To see what your current, make settings right click post work, properties, advanced, performance settings, Advanced tab, virtual memory, and then click the button change.

Make a note of the current settings in case you need to change their return more later.

The best setting for the size of swap file is usually going to be:

    System managed size

Right click my computer, properties, Advanced tab, Performance... Settings, Advanced tab, virtual memory... Change.

Note the current setting, so you can change things later if you have a problem.

If it is already done, on the size of swap file:

    System managed size

Don't forget to click on Set (to be defined), OK several times to save the settings and then restart your computer.

Windows XP will attempt to affect a swap file approximately 1.5 times the total amount of RAM installed on your system.  To manage the size of paging file Windows XP is enough for most configurations.

If your system is not set to the size of the managed system, you must determine how it changed and why (usually a bad reason), make a note of the current settings to change them back later if necessary, and then change the setting to the size of the managed system, click on the Set button and then click on apply to apply the changes (you will be asked to restart).

"Because someone told me to" is not a good reason to start making adjustments to the size of pagefile.  Setting just above to enlarge it by an arbitrary value can ease the symptoms of the problem and stop message, but may not result in the best configuration for your system.

All the advice to 'Increase the value of the initial and maximum size to a higher value' are misinformed ideas that come from not knowing how to work XP - How do you increase it and what happens if you increase too?

If you want your system to operate as efficiently as possible, you must understand what is happening and fix it properly and not only begin to try things or make some arbitrary adjustments.

The size of the pagefile can really need adjustment, but you should at least try to know what you're doing and why you need to do.  It is unlikely that anyone can tell you how to adjust your settings properly without more information.

If you don't know what are the best settings, or if you are not sure what should be your settings and need help looking at your stuff, follow these steps:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and what appears to be personal information for you, simply delete the personal information of the pasted information.

This minimize back Q & A and eliminate the guesswork and assumptions.

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Emails are tricky - and not all email clients are the same, neither are the browsers where you can print the email.  Almost anything could break the margins on the right side.

Please take a look at the following and see if anything here helps - and you can also try opening your emails using another browser, too.  Yes, I know - eew.  But it might help to see what is happening.  In addition, it could give you an idea, if the problem is universal, i.e. emails look bad / feel bad no matter what you use.

You might be able to use 'Fit to page' in print preview mode, or you might be able to control the margins by adjusting the actual "margins" - also in mode print preview.

If all else fails, you may view the email and take a 'Snip' from the email, save it and then print the image you saved.  Ick.  But it could be something that you could use as a last resort.

  • How to adjust the margins of the page on the officejet printer 6700

How you set the margins of the page on a premium of 6700 Officejet printer all-in-one. I just bought and set up.

Configuration and installation went well and everything seems to work. I looked in the software development and have not yet

to find something on the definition of the page margins. The question arose when I printed an email as well as the right doesn't have the edge of it

    print.

If I understand this has much to do with the original message and the format (an example here of users with similar issues). It seems html in messages can cause this and things like scaling to fit are unable to help. Are you able to export email and open in word or a similar program for printing?

  • Change the margins for the pages to be linked to the book

Hello. I have a very large PDF file (~ 1700 pages) which is a combination of many .doc and .pdf files.

I want to print this large PDF document & link in a bound book, unfortunately when I created the word files I do not create a binding margin and select "mirror margins", so I don't have enough room for the binding.

I was looking for a way to do this is Adobe.  I noticed the option of scaling in the print dialog box, but this can evolve towards the Center, & I want that she shifted on the right or left (depending on even or odd pages).

Do anyone know how I can accomplish this task, I just want to shrink the pages by approximately 15% & offset on the side, alternating the sides of the odd and even pages, whereas I have a binding margin that fits in a hardcover binder.  Return & reformatting all of the Word are not an option, because it will probably take 100s of hours.

Any suggestions?   Thank you very much in advance for any help!

Work on a copy. I think you'll find that you can move to the left margin to the right for even pages and odd pages. If you want to maintain the proportions, you should be able to increase the upper and lower margins on all pages. Then to return to the same size paper, simply use the size option on the pages of the harvest. Keep in mind that harvest does not remove information normally, just of the cultures it display and printing.

Give it a try on a copy and see if it does the job. As far as I know that is the only choice you have Acrobat and it is not hard to do. If you wish, from a few pages (like 10) and play with those until you are comfortable.

Prints with a wide margin and does not print the last 2 "or 3" on the right side of the page. This occurs even when the value of the left margin to little or none.

HP trouble shoot said there is nothing wrong and test page prints fine.  Then back to the problem so try to print.

    HI @philg2,

I see your thoughts produce a wide margin left and right of the page is cut off. What program are you printing from, and this occurs when you print from all programs or just a particular program?

I see your post that this is not happening when you print a test page, so I think the problem is somehow related to the driver or program that you use. Let's start with the HP print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly resolve problems printing, scanning and connectivity, including but not limited to:

    • Connectivity:

USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

    • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.

    • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.

    • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.

    • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

    • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

    • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

    • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

    • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.

    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M401n: How to set the margins for binding up and left for LaserJet Pro 400 M401n

I am connected to ePremis (medical site) that allows me to print the selected medical forms. ePremis uses the default printer to print the selected form.  The selected form should be printed on a preprinted form that I load into the tray of the printer.

The problem is that ePremis does not provide an option to set gutter margins and print aligns correctly with my pre-printed form. The print position is a little weak and must also be shifted a little to the left. I need to reduce the high binding margin to move the position of superior print on the page and the left binding margin must also be reduced to move the print a little position to the left so that the printed data will properly align with my pre-printed form.

Since ePremis does not offer an option to set the margins of the gutter, I need to be able to set the margins of the gutter through the printer driver, but there is also no option provided by the printer driver dialog box to set the margins of the gutter.  :-(

Is it possible to set the printer LaserJet Pro 400 gutter margins?  I see the margins left and right options in the driver dialog box printer, but they are grayed out and cannot be changed.

I have another printer, Kyocera laser printer, and I don't have this problem with the Kyocera because it offers the possibility to set gutter margins in the printer driver dialog.  I wonder why the LaserJet Pro 400 does not provide this option?

I perhaps could solve this problem by sending PCL6 commands to the printer before printing?  I'm a programmer and am open to this option if it would work.

Your help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Setting margins generally depends on demand - but (you say) that your application does not allow this.

Some printers provide functionality of saving images , whereby the position of the image of the page onto a physical sheet can be adjusted to the printer, usually on a basis of by-tray.

For example, with my Laserjet Pro MFP color 400 M475dn, the appropriate menu/menu item is described as follows:

    Note:

    • This setting applies to the bar up this that changed, so will have an impact on all the tasks using the specified status bar.
    • Not all printers support these features - I have no idea if your LaserJet M401 exercises or not.

With regard to the '... sending the commands to the printer before printing... PCL6«» :

    • PCL6 (PCL XL) rather more autonomous than PCL5is, so I'm pretty sure that nothing you can "send" to the device to influence the outcome of the following printing.
    • Even with PCL5 print jobs, standard printer drivers are "overcome and-tail' with universal output language (UEL) escape sequences (which reset the device to the market environment (user - default)), which would be too mount sequences exhaust specific PCL5 previously sent to the device.
  • Everything I print is with no margin at the top of the page.

HP Officejet Pro 8600, Windows XP, from a MAC using remote access. When I print invoices the margin at the top is equal to zero, so my company name and the name of the customer is too high to show through the broadcast window. I also try to print 1099 forms and information high 1099 is printing too high while 1099 background information are perfect. By aligning the top to print below also compensates for low as if the top print well, the background is too low. I've set to zero without change of scale.

Try the F4400 driver. If that one doesn't work, try the driver of 4500. Let me know what happens.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - margins of the printer

    Hi all

We currently have a problem when printing a PDF document custom containing some of money transfer.

If we print the letter, the printer always assigns margins to the bottom of the page, causing the details of move a few millimetres up money transfer.

For this reason, the text does not fit in the necessary rectangular boxes.

The problem occurs on more than one printer.

Is there a solution to this problem?

P.S.: We tried already print the document by using the properties of "Actual size" in the settings of the printer, but it does not solve the problem.

    Thank you.

    Best regards

In the meantime, we could find what was causing the problem:

Apparently, the size of a new document in Adobe Acrobat Pro MS default page isn't the same as the size of the page in A4 format. After using a custom size which corresponds more or less to that format A4, the document is printed correctly on all printers.
