  Hello and welcome to the community!

  "Mark prior Opened" has existed for a long time... it must be present for you. When, exactly, your sequence you press the key? It must be:

  • Home screen > Messages > (highlight a date separator line) > > mark prior Opened/Read

  So for example, if you have a message highlighted when you press on the key, then the selection of the Mark prior open menu are not displayed... only when you have a separator line to date highlighted the selection of the menu you want to display.

  After being a user of Windows Mobile for years and many devices, I stepped and passed to the tower. There are things that I love most about it and some of the things that I miss terribly. One of the things I miss is having read a message in Outlook, I don't want to be marked as read on the device.  The only way I can get it to work is to choose "Reconcile now" on the device and then all syncs well.  The weird part is that if I read something on the device, it will be immediately marked as read in Outlook without having to choose "Reconcile now".  I've seen a few posts about this, but none that really explain why it would be designed that way.  I hope there is something I can do or can I have my team do to fix.

  Here are some details of my configuration:

  • Using BES to the corporate network.  I don't know what version of BES we use, but I know that this isn't the last, because we don't get emails in HTML format.  We are about 4.4 or 4.5 and soon (as soon as I make a problem out of it) will be upgrading to the most recent which I HOPE will be changed.
  • OPTIONS/EMAIL MESSAGE RECONCILIATION: Reconcile wireless is enabled.

  Hoping that someone knows something or can explain why it would be designed like that.  There must be a good reason.

  Under BES, you should be getting full reconciliation of read/two-way state - if you read on the device, it must mark it as read on the server (and Outlook). Similarly the other way around. There will be no instant - there may be delays, especially if you use Outlook in set mode cached... but I didn't have a delay that became so long the point of being problematic.

  If this does not work, you will need to get with your admins BES that something is wrong... and they are in control of it.

  Select mail not read first and third or fourth mail simultaneously, then scroll down until the last mail read and choose. Now, all unread mail has been selected. Press the BB button and select Mark Read. All unread mail is now read.

• How can I mark files as read?

  I am a university student and I have all kinds of PDF files and PowerPoint presentations, notes and homework and other. Is there anyway (built in, 3rd party software, etc.) I can mark/flag one file so I know that I have read this pdf or have done this job? Update or Date Opened does not work, an indicator shows if ever, I opened the file before does not either. The best thing would be if I could just click with the right button on the file and the option to put a flag or star or something on the file. Something like mark a file as hidden while being able to see the file. (Yes I'm aware that you can view hidden files/folders, but I don't want to see EACH file/folder hidden on my computer).

  I think that your best answer to this problem would be to use a better folder structure.  You could create a folder marked homework and who have a completed that you move the files once you have done business with them.

  Other that a better folder structure I can't think any 3rd party application that could help you.

  for a long time, I tried to set up a filter which copies new messages in the Gmail inbox to a folder in local mail in Thunderbird, and defines in addition/unread state correctly on both ends.

  However, no matter what I try, it doesn't work.

  There seems to be no way to set the playback on the IMAP server to 'read' State after the copy action and at the same time keep the "unread" status for mails that have been copied to the local folder in Thunderbird.

  It does not work even if I created an intermediate folder on the IMAP server where mail is first moved to and only then is copied to the local Thunderbird folder later.

  I also tried all sorts of combinations with the 'move later' and other actions to FiltaQuilla.
