Hello

I had system update error and followed all the instructions how to fix and the installation of the update. Did not work. I managed to get the text from sfcdetails on my desktop, and when you look into it, I think it shows a lot of corrupted files that could not be repaired.

First of all I'm not sure, I don't understand how to find the name of the file to search for, and second, I don't have any other computer where I could get a good copy.

Where can I find good copies? They are available anywhere online? and how can I then install them me correct?

Thanks for the info

• How can I check and delete the corrupted files?

I was told that my laptop performance could be carried out by missing or corrupt files. I can't find the system check in the Panel, and it is not found when I try to kick it and run. I don't have the original recovery or installation disk disk.

According to the page I've linked in the other post: Hard Drive16 GB (Solid State Drive Flash Module). Solid State Drive SSD =

You can always do another:

Check and repair corrupt files is to open cmd in the start menu, then right click "Run as Administrator". Then type chkdsk c: / r

• If you get an error "Chkdsk cannot run", type in, ChkDsk runs on your next Windows startup

Who will eventually fix any corrupt system files, but not others. You suspect corruption in the other or all of the files, then probably the SSD is having problems. That can be fixed with conventional methods, as far as I KNOW. Maybe time to replace it with a new SSD or hard drive classic, if possible. Don't know how HP implimented the SSD in the mini.

Since there is no DVD/CD drive integrated into the unit, get an external hard drive or USB key and backs up all data that you consider important before things get worse. You can buy 16 GB flash drives or bigger, so that would be my suggestion. Just copy everything on a flashdrive before anything else is done.

I received a call from someone who said they were from Windows. They said that I had corrupted files and harmful spies accumulating daily. They asked me to type in the address bar, an address that gave me the site he Ammy Admin and asked me to download it for free. It was a kind of remote access site. I refused. He was trying to convince me that it was legitimate, but I was not buying it. Do you have a service like this? Was - this legitimate? Thank you.

Microsoft does not provide a service like this. You were right not to follow their instructions. Unfortunately, this is a very common scam now.

Hello
1. do you have similar problems when connecting other USB (Universal Serial Bus) devices to the computer?
2. What is the exact error that you receive when you connect the printer to the computer?
Method 1:
Try the troubleshooting provided in the link below steps to solve common problems with the printer in Windows

Method 2:
If the step above does not help us to diagnose the problem, uninstall the [Universal Serial bus] USB host controller drivers and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to solve the problem.
(a) Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button
(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
(c) search the [Universal Serial bus] USB host controller device, right-click on it and select uninstall.

a message about this yesterday. I got response, but could not answer.

Here are things I tried. I've tried everything else. I am convinced there is a corrupted file, but it's beyond my ability to find and replace. I could really use help... This printer has worked for more than three years. The ports worked with other devices until I uninstalled all 7 of my USB HOST controller drivers. Now my logitec mouse (wireless) no longer works.

Hello petersonc2c,

Connect the printer to another computer to check the issue.

• corrupted file

I have a corrupted file. How to re - name wbemcore.log file? C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\logs\wbemcore.log. Thank you

Rename you it like any other file.

You're not going to tell us why you think that the file is corrupted?

If you think that the file is corrupted (it is part of Windows Management Instrumentation), you can rebuild your WMI database and files easily and create a new set of files for you.

To solve your problem, stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service, rename the folder WMI suspicious or distressed, then restart your system. When the system restarts, the WMI service will start automatically and rebuild the WMI folder and it's content automatically.

Here's the process:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

services.msc

Click OK to launch the Services applet.

Locate the Windows Management Instrumentation Service. If the status column indicates that the WMI Service is started (ongoing), right-click on the WMI Service and choose to stop the WMI Service.

Answered in the affirmative, if requested to stop Security Center and Windows Firewall Services (with stopped services, your system is vulnerable to attacks from the Internet, so do not receive is not on the Internet again until you reboot your system).

Now would be a good time to check also the properties of the WMI Service to make sure the startup type is set to automatic for the Service WMI will start automatically the next time the system is restarted.

The Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that your boot drive is C):

C:\Windows\System32\Wbem\

Locate and then rename the folder "Repository" to something, as you remember, such as:

Repository.Old

If you care, go ahead and rename or delete the file suspicious wbemcore.log to the logs folder.

Restart the computer, and then check Services again to make sure that the WMI service is restarted automatically and that a new repository folder has been created to replace the one that was renamed. It may take a while to completely rebuild the file storage (several seconds or minutes) so expect it ends.

After the reboot, you will notice the wmiprvse.exe Service running in the Task Manager and it will continue to run until it completes the reconstruction of the repository (this may take a little time).

The rebuilding process could take several minutes depending on your system, but eventually the wmiprvse.exe Service ends and disappear from the Manager tasks.

If you then look at the Event Viewer Application log, there may be some error messages like this:

Event type: error
Event source: WinMgmt
Event category: no
Event ID: 4
Description:
Failed to load C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V4.0.30319\MOF\SERVICEMODEL MOF. MOF by retrieving the file from the repository.

This is normal because when the system restarts, the wmiprvse.exe process has to rebuild parts of the repository as well. It is a mistake to sequence as shown below. You should not see these mistakes again after the system has been rebooted and catches up and finishes rebuilding the WMI repository.

Explanations for errors encountered in the case of the Application of visualization of the newspaper the WMI repository is rebuilt:

Explanation
Windows Management Instrumentation could have tried to compile the file (mofcomp) a .mof marked for ASR, but compilation failed. This is probably due to a sequencing problem.

User action
To correct the problem, try to compile the .mof again. If this does not resolve the problem, contact the provider of technical support for the program in question.

You shouldn't need to do something about these error messages and do not see again them after that XP has finished rebuilding the WMI repository.

I can't say how long this will take to rebuild, maybe 10 to 15 minutes until it settles completely.

someone played with them in a picture or Photo program. Check with start - computer or Windows

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

My Cookie file was corrupted in data and my programs continually pop up with the 'corrupt file' error when a program opens, pointing to \Users\name\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies.

The problem is, Chkdsk will not fix this, and I can't access the file. This opens up a world of problems when I need to fix this error, so I can upgrade to Windows 7. Help, please!

I just ran the scan again. He said of the errors found, but could not be repaired.

This problem actually has nothing to do with internet explorer. It's the cookies folder that is corrupt in the Windows folder in roaming. The error file is in conjunction with the programs, that I try to run (AIM, Skype, so forth). Trying to enter the folder it says it's corrupt. I don't know what is the root of the problems or how to solve this problem, but these measures have not helped so far. Regarding the repair, I will try that next.

• System File Checker does not seem to fix corrupt files.

I ran sfc/scannow and at the end he said he found and repair corrupt files. However if I run a second or third or 4th time it always says the same thing as if corrupted files were not repaired.

Hello

It's the usual message that some errors are not really causing all the problems.

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt

who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.

So if you're in C:\Windows\System32 > then you will need to look in that folder for the file.

How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program
in Windows Vista
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928228

This creates sfcdetails.txt in C:\Windows\System32 find and you can post the errors in a message
here. NOTE: there are probably duplicates so please only post once each section error.

You can read the newspaper/txt files easier if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad then RUN AS ADMIN - then
You can navigate to sfcdetails.txt (in C:\Windows\System32) or cbs.log (in C:\Windows\Logs) as needed.
(You may need to search sfcdetails.txt if it is not created in the default folders.)

If necessary to fix the Vista installation:

You can try a repair install or an upgrade in Place.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. It must be the same version 32 or 64 BIT Vista OEM. Also the system
machine to usually sell the cheap disk since you already own Windows. Don't forget to make a
good backup or 3 (security in redundancy).

• went to the command and put in findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt to find the corrupted file and nothing happened

I had a problem with my laptop. I let a friend use it and she got a virus. The screen is black. She took it to get fixed. When she returned I couldn't open some files. (Always have this problem with some files) my shortcut icons are no longer there. Then I get this message on the Catalyst Control Center does not work. In any case, I did a scan and he told me that I had corrupted in my cbs log files so I tried to do the command findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt to find the corrupted file and nothing happened. Help!

RESET

That resets your TCP/IP stack

It might also be a good idea to updare drivers network - NETWORK card (wired) and WiFi (wireless)
by checing at the site of the manufacturer of the system/card mother and/or sites of the manufacturer of the real device.

For settings.ini as this article sets out the question may be totally ignored.

The SFC.exe command reports Settings.ini file errors in the CBS.log file after that you add gadgets
for the Sidebar of Windows Vista by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947595

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These errors only are in the settings.ini for the sidebar and are not a serious problem by all means.

Close the sidebar for that.

Something else for the settings.ini - run AutoRuns and look at the entries SideBar Gadget - y at - it
all pointing to is no longer present as temp files or uninstalled gadgets or not running?
Those who will reflect the "yellow icons" on the left side and the files/folders will not exist. If so just
Click on it and delete - Reboot. This may correct the errors that you see.

Autoruns - free - see what programs are configured so that it starts automatically when your system
boots and you login. Autoruns shows you the full list of registry and file locations where
applications can configure Auto-start settings.
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
-------------------------------

Another process to try is to remove everything except a gadget - everything what you think is the most simple, that you use.
Maybe the calendar. Then RESTART - use another simple gadget, and delete the first class used
-RESTART again. See if that helps.

Rarely, the error causing the problem with the sidebar and not not affect the system in general.

the Sidebar of Windows Vista by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.

-------------------------------

Another method to try with the SideBar works does not is to copy the Settings.ini to another folder and
and then delete - then start sidebar.

You can also try to restore any copy of a Vista DVD (even 32 or 64 bit however).

Also update your drivers: (WiFi (wireless), NIC (Wired) and others as required)

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers to 7 (update drivers manually using the methods above is preferred
to make sure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)

Hello

Try this: instead of this:

Run the sfc/scannow command.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
