• Understand simple math in HP 12 c

  Hi guys,.

  I really wish that someone can help me here before I have send HP customer support. I just received a brand new calc HP12c as a gift. This is my first time to use a financial calculator. I learned yesterday to calculate the time value of money which was pretty cool because it makes really easy calculation UNTIL I'm curious regarding how to do simple math - additions/deductions as there is not (=) equal sign. So I youtubed, followed by what is said on the vid, but somehow my calculator gives me ALWAYS the wrong answer. Say I do 5 + 3, the answer is 8, right? What I did before putting any character, I pressed CLX first, then supported on the f END just to make sure I erased everything and then pressed 5 3 ENTER ENTER +, guess what? Answer is always 10. WHY? Hope you can help me guys because he's too good of a calc to have.

  You are right! I have coz as soon as I tried 5 INPUT 3 +, it gives me 8 this time. But now my question how can I just reset back to normal not RPN postfix? I know that I really have TO read the manual, but I have 3 exams this week so just want to learn more quickly... so I'll have to all the time next week he read Word by Word.

  What version of the application you are using - 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2?

  In versions 1.0 and 1.1, the math channel makes a linear interpolation between the samples using cursors support and measures. 1.2, we have improved the cursors and were able to remove the linear interpolation.

  What is your version of the application, the time stamp associated with each sample will tell when the sample was taken.

  I'm just trying to understand what advandages High Troughput Math Funtions have. I so ask a few Questions.

  I always talk about beeing inside a SCTL.

  1. in the Image you can see four functions to add. One with U32 who must use more resources than with the U16Datatype that uses mor than the U8. But my broadband Math FXP uses fewer resources than the U8 Version?

  2. who this four functions add will take less time for execution?

  

  3. If I add two 32 bit a number with the normal add-in and the other with broadband Add. Which functions uses less resources and who will be fastest?

  

  4. How would it bee if I had a Multiplication instead? When I understand the concept of a Multiplication on the right it will be done with a DSP48E. This logical block is able to multiply a little 25 number with a number of 18 bits. So the U32 multiply will use 2 DSP48Es and the other three functions would use a DSP48E.

  I guess that the U32 Version will be slower enforcement?

  Whats on the other three will be their equal execution speed, or Versions with smaller data types will be faster?

• results of math processor load

  We have problems to get the results of math (in this case, the matrix multiplication) which differ based on the processor intel used. We saw the differences between the core 2 duo T7700, Xeon X 5460 with a Pentium 4 Xeon based. The operating system does not make the difference (we tried XP x 32, XP x 64, x 64 Vista and windows 7 x 64).

  We have implemented our own matrix multiplication (10 x slower) and it gave the same results on all platform (OS / CPU) combinations.

  LabVIEW 2009 SP1 still uses MKL 10.1 because we find some other problems with 10.2 MKL.  If LabVIEW 2009 SP1 does not resolve it.

  On http://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-mkl, there is an option to evaluate.   You can download the evaluation version of MKL for 30 days usage.

  I have create a revised matrix multiply VI which divides the matrix has submatrices and multiplies B block.

  I hope this might solve your problem.  Could you please test it on your PC Xeon X 5460?

• Analysis.Math.Statistics fails when NaN values are included in the entry tables

  With the help of Measurement Studio to Version 8.9 of .net. We need calculate statistics on a table that contains a double. NaN values. When I do this I get NaN as the result of any of the statistical methods (average, STDS etc.) ... Interestingly, the Math.ArrayOperations methods look like they work. Any ideas?

  Hi GDSSoftware,

  You see this behavior because the statistical functions with Measurement Studio ignore not input values NaN - that is why, they will return results NaN.  To work around this problem, you will need to filter these NaN values out of your input array before performing statistical analysis on this subject.

  If you're working with .NET 3.5 and later versions, you can do this by using the following:

  Double [] vals = new double [] {0d, 6 d, 10 d, 4 d, double. NaN};
  Double [] nanless_vals = vals. Where (d =>! double.) IsNaN (d)). ToArray();

  If you use an earlier version of the .NET framework, you will need to perform a loop on the table with the following (or something similar):

  Double [] vals = new double [] {0d, 6 d, 10 d, 4 d, double. NaN};
  List nanless_list As new List();
  for (int i = 0; i)< vals.length;="">
  If (! double.) IsNaN (vals [i]))
  nanless_list. Add (Vals [i]);
  Double [] nanless_vals is nanless_list. ToArray();

• How can I specify simple math as in a knot of formula but on the front panel?

  If the formula node had a "text" property, that would work for me, because I could limit my entries and exits for N floating point numbers.
