All online sources, including HP say pilot is available by clicking on "Windows Update" in the install printer driver dialog box.   Well, here's my answer to my own post.

  After reading some posts here about possible solutions, I tried to delete all the cookies for YouTube (Tools > options > privacy > show cookies > youtube.com). Then tested on a site with integrated video would not play before and on YouTube directly - both worked!

  The poster with the suggestion of cookies also proposed changes to the 'exceptions', but it was not necessary at least for me.
