Maximum memory for Pavilion g6-1013sa?

Hi all

I recently bought this Pavilion laptop g6-1013sa

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&ObjectID=c02780920&jumpi...

Very fast and all. I'm lucky to have a disk sata hard 7200 RPM autour so I upgraded which without problem. When the level I noticed that there are two memory banks, but only one of the populated with 4GB and a free module.

I wanted to add another 4 GB module because it is not that expensive but I looked at the link above and it does not say that it suport 8 GB.

Anyone know if I can add another 4 GB module for a total of 8 GB?

Thank you

Hello:

Simple card for your PC page is misleading in that it shows it comes standard with 4 GB of memory and goes on to say that it is expandable to 4 GB of memory.

I would interpret who just like you... Max is 4 GB, but I think they meant you can install another chip of 4 GB.

In any case, this is confirmed looking at your service on page 3 manual, where it provides memory configurations.

8 GB is certainly supported.

    Hello

As mentioned previously, there are SEVERAL dv7t editions and special editions. We have dv7t-3000, 4000-dv7t... and it is very difficult to find the right plug. Please use the following link to find the product/model number:

Your machine could be the following:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & dlc = in & lc = in & product = 5292645 &

If so, the #4 on the following manual page it support 16 GB max:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & dlc = in & lc = in & product = 5292645 &

You can have 2 x 8 GB, no choice. Only a few portable computers that have 4 slots and supports up to 32 GB. No way on this earth at this time, you can find a laptop that supports the 132 Gb of RAM.

    Kind regards.

    Maximum RAM 2 GB

Note: the manufacturer was required to provide a way to reinstall Windows. If it is not a set of disks with the computer, there will be a hidden restore partition (do not be confused with the system restore), you would use to return the computer to the State of the OOBE (Out of Box Experience).

Usually, just by pressing F11 continuously during the computer startup to display a boot menu offering the option you need.

You may need to contact the manufacturer of your hardware (Dell) to see what options they have to repair Windows.

  • Maximum memory for Portege Z930 - 14L

    Hello

I have a Portege Z930 - 14L with 8 GB memory and wonder what is the maximum memory I can add? I saw the following in the description, but I don't understand if this means that the maximum is 12 GB (4 GB onboard + 8 GB expansion) or 16 GB (2x8GB)

    Standard system memory: 8 192 (4 069 + 4 069 onboard) MB
    maximum extension: 8 192 MB
    technology: DDR3 RAM (1,600 MHz)

    Thank you
    Markus

If I understand this right info your a Portege already maximum RAM.
Is that your laptop Portege can manage with 8 GB memory max. On board, there are already 4 GB and there is only one slot of RAM available for upgrade that also contains a 4 GB RAM module.
In other words, your laptop is already maximum RAM and upgrade is not possible.

  • Add video memory for Pavilion a410e

The max that I can choose is 64 MB, what is the difference between PCI and AGP video cards? It would be better for the HDTV display and work better with limited system memory? Thanks, Deb

Deb, AGP is a newer technology and is considerably faster than the PCI ports.  So I suggest an AGP video card.  Now, that being said, I am not sure how well the computer will run with an HDTV because HP supports only 1 GB of system memory.  Additionally, make sure that the power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to run the card you choose correctly.  You can check the wattage in opening the case and by reading the label on the power supply.  The minimum power requirements should be available on the manufacturer's website.

  • Pavilion dv7-3078nr: upgrade memory for Pavilion dv7-3078nr

Hello! I have a portable entertainment dv7 model 3078nr number (number of product VU152UA #ABA). It has 4 GB of ram, which I had remembered as being the maximum installable. I recently upgraded to Windows (64-bit, home) to Windows 7 (same) 10 and have found that basic memory usage is higher, and he hits the high waterline much more quickly than before. (for example alert low Windows of memory, then programs disappear suddenly after.) I was surprised when adressing this notice that the model profile page lists the maximum memory 8 GB.

So! My question is especially that after searching around for some time, unable to really find anything clear, the maximum memory I can install anything (I read on another model dv7 modules available because the documentation was written enabled 2x8gb instead of 2 x 4 GB, for example), and what my best options to acquire it.

I tried manually by lifting my laptop on the Crucial site, but it has not been expressly listed. Their donnГ diagnostic tool using a results page with two 8 GB kits listed, but both at $239, that seems kind of evil? The listed modules were:

    8 GB (4GBx2) Kit DDR2 PC2-6400 unbuffered NON ECC 1.8V 512Meg x 64
    8 GB (4GBx2) Kit DDR2 PC2-5300 unbuffered NON ECC 1.8V 512Meg x 64

I believe that what are already installed are 2x2gb DDR PC2-6400.

Memory modules are used in these different workbooks and therefore rarer than those used in a configuration standard tour? I don't have memory before and would appreciate any guidance on what the options are and what specifications of the modules in order to search. Thank you for reading.

Right! Both tl; Dr: compatible with the motherboard modules are old and rare, which makes them incredibly expensive for what they are in today's terms.

  • Maximum memory for Optiplex 380

Specifications for maximum memory in the Optiplex 380 are quite confusing. Pdf manual indicates the maximum memory is 4 GB - 4 GB module in a slot or two 2 GB modules in two locations. But I read in other places that the maximum is 8 GB - two 4 GB modules in both slots.

On another thread here, someone asked max on the Minitour Optiplex 380 memory and told me that the max memory is 8 mg. But see here that the max is given as 4 GB:
    http://www.pcrush.com/product/desktop-computers/632935/Dell-OptiPlex-380-desktop-computer-Intel-Core-2-Duo-E7500-dual-core-2.93-GHz-Mini-Tower

I also is not the case of the minitour and don't know if that makes a difference. I believe that what I have is called the small form factor. I'd really, really like to upgrade memory, but don't want to spend money on a memory module, I can not use.

Edit: Here are the other features of my computer:
    3.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium Dual-Core
cache of 64 kilobytes main memory
    secondary memory 2048 k-cached
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (2 total)
    Board: Dell Inc. 01TKCC A01
    The bus clock: 800 MHz
    BIOS: Dell Inc. A06 01/09/2011
Usable 3996 megabytes of memory installed
Slot 'DIMM_1' has 4096 MB (serial number 652F0829)
    'DIMM_2' location is empty

Just checked. You can add another 4 GB module to your system.

    You can order one here.

  • Maximum RAM for Pavilion HPE h9 - 1215t

I have a Pavilion HPE h9 - 1215t (Core i7-3770 3.4 G 8 M 77 w CPU;) Card mother Formosa IPMMB-FM).  the system currently has 16 GB of ram (4 x 4).  Upgrades of what I can do and what dimm configuration?  Is 32 GB maximum for this system?  For example, you can swap 2 or the 4 GB DIMMs for 2 DIMMs of 8 GB each to make the total system 24 GB of ram?

    Hello

Dave would work rather than Jim.

I suspect that HP has fill not the 8 GB DIMMs in your PC model when it came out on the market, where the reason for not showing the configurations with 8 GB DIMMs.

Mixture of DIMM may or may not work and I saw all the messages on this forum to indicate success or failure with the mix 8 GB DIMM sizes with your HP PC model.

You could try buying two packs of two 8 GB DIMM if reallly you need more memory and see which combination works as appropriate.  You may need to go with 32 GB, but then you might face a decision of performance cost verses. If you can get 24GO to work then return the other DIMM package.

Find out what the return policy is before you buy.

  • Maximum memory for Z400

I bought a Z400 as he was listed as pc supported of Avid recording with Protools

It has 8 GB, but is now seeing 8GB is a minimum for pro tools requiremenet, and I want to go up to at least 16gbs

What I was asking is, what is the maximum amount of RAM I can update? If the Z400 has six slots, and I put 4GB in each slot, which should mean that I have a total 24GBs as my maximum right?

Any help on this would be greatly appricated

Simply reading, "Architecture of the Council system" section on page 3 of the "HP Z400 Maintenance and service guide", I see that a DIMM 6 motherboard has 3 channels/CPU, 6DIMMs/CPU and able to install DDR3 800/1066/1333 UDIMM only.

At the time of printing this means 6 DIMM motherboard could contain 24 GB through 4 GB DIMMs.

It lists also in the section "Memory" on page 116 of the same document, a hyperlink to http://www.hp.com/go/quickspecs to find the compatible with desktop DIMMs (I have not looked at this link)...

If no update of the BIOS later increased the DIMM size that could be installed in your system, I don't know... But you could read every note BIOS release for info that can show if the DIMM size has been increased...

  • Hard disk - storage space Maximum allowed for Pavilion G7 2233 cl

    Hello world

Long time lurker, first time here poster.  This forum helped me a lot when I removed Windows 8 and Windows 7 Professional installed for helping me find the right drivers for everything.  So thank you all for this.

in any case, on my question...

I'm modding my HP Pavillion G7 2233 portable cl.  I added a 512 GB SSD Crucial MX100, but I saw somewhere that someone who has exactly the same laptop replaced the DVD optical drive with a caddy to hold a second hard drive.  I want to add a second hard drive to use as media storage space, documents, video, photos, etc.  He will see a lot of movement between the download, delete, etc..  I didn't want my SSD doing so wear out prematurely.  I already bought a caddy for that.

My question is what is the spaced maximum storage allowed for the Pavilion G7 2233 cl?  I couldn't find the info on the BIOS to tell us what it is.

I have Windows 7 Professional installed (came pre-installed with Windows 8, but has been removed because it caused so many problems).

Happiness is not around the corner... it's IN the corner

1 TB is now the 'bigger' standard hard drive for your laptop (2 TB or 3 TB for desktop computers). There are bigger drives for laptops out there, but assistive technology that storage in a small space is still fairly new. Especially with new laptops, there is not a limit, in itself, the size of the hard drive, you can install.

  • Maximum RAM for Pavilion dv7-6107ee, product number LS048EA

    Hey there ' All,.

I currently have the OEM 8 GB RAM installed.  I run VMware Workstation 8 for a laboratory test on my laptop and I would really like to 16 GB of RAM, but it seems that I read a few places that this model is not expandable to 8 GB (which is funny because the model seems comes with 8 GB.) So much for an upgrade).

Before you buy 16 GB memory live, this laptop will support him?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 with a processor Intel 320 160 GB SSD (SSD is worth every penny, incidentally!).

I just ran the Crucial System Scanner to see what he had to say and he acknowledged my system like a HP - Compaq IdeaPad U450p Laptop/Notebook.  This is not just, of course, but there may be a link any between the two I don't know.  States crucial System Scanner:

Each slot of memory can hold DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 PC3-10600, with a maximum of 4 GB per slot.*
    * May not exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Of course, the important part here, I've noticed, is that there is a maximum of 4 GB per slot because that's what HP is supported.  Does that mean that the system will recognize even 16 GB and it will not support the HP? Could there be stability problems if I do?  I'm looking for if I install 16 GB?

    See you soon,.

    Mike

    {Information}

    Hi, Mike:

According to the specifications of the system for your laptop, it comes with an Intel i7 processor.

Here is the link to the service manual for your PC.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842278.PDF

There are two sets of specifications of memory depending on whether you have a processor AMD or Intel.

Since you have an Intel processor, you can install modules memory 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) in your PC.

Please see Chapter 1, page 6.

In October, I bought a Pavilion dv7 (model dv7t-7000) with 16 GB of RAM.  Is it possible to upgrade to 32 GB?  I also want to add an SSD as a second drive.  Is this possible.

It's a CTO machine so we can have its specifications.

    1. for the RAM, I think 16 GB is its limit as shown in the following link:
